A soldier’s primary weapon system may require multiple or nonstandard battery

types, multiple switches and controls, numerous spare batteries, and

external cables, resulting in heavy, unbalanced

weapons. The rugged, Intelligent Rail can power

and activate attached accessories directly from

a centralized battery pack and control panel, simplifying operations, standardizing

battery type, eliminating redundancy and reducing weight. Additionally, the Rail can transfer

data, including digital imagery, between the mounted accessories. With less weight, simpler

operation and fewer batteries to haul, combatants can be more mobile, effective and

self-sustaining, for greater mission success.

Law enforcement agencies around the globe are

adopting technologies that monitor events in the

field and communicate critical information to other

departments. The i-PROTECT project is an integrated

system that incorporates these capabilities,

enhancing safety and reducing response times.

Now being tested, i-PROTECT is designed by

Beretta in cooperation with the University of

Brescia and Intellitronika, a specialist in

computer systems and communications.
