They will attend the priest convocation at Oglebay in Wheeling, WV. The theme is: “Come Away and Rest: Retreat, Relax, and Renew.” The daily Mass schedule does NOT change on Monday, Sept. 30, and Friday, Oct. 4. There will be only one (1) daily Mass at 8 a.m. on Oct. 1, 2, 3, at St. Alphonsus Church at 219 W. Lincoln Avenue, McDonald, 15057. Our parish staff and answering service for all six parishes will contact the priests in the case of an emergency. Please call the Parish phone number and some one will assist you.
Everyone in our grouping is invited to a pilgrimage on Wed., Oct. 23, from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. We will be taking a bus from St. Columbkille to see St. Anthony’s Chapel, Immaculate Heart of Mary, St. Stanislaus, and St. Patrick (in the Strip). Cost is $20, payable to St. Columbkille. To

There will be a training for Altar Servers at 1 p.m. on Saturday, October 5, at St. Columbkille, and on Monday, October 7, at 6:30 p.m. at St. Ann. Both trainings are the same. Only one needs to be attended. It is expected that all

Our next baptism class is Sat., Oct. 12, at 1 p.m. at Our Lady of Lourdes, Burgettstown, in St. Bernadette Hall. This class is open to any parishioners in our six-parish grouping who are having their first child baptized. You must register ahead of time if you wish to attend. Each year the Diocese of Pittsburgh recognizes the crowning achievement of those couples celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary in the current year with a Mass presided by Bishop Zubik at St. Paul’s Cathedral, followed by a light reception. Due to scheduling conflicts, the Golden Wedding Anniversary will take place
later then usual. The celebration will now occur on Nov. 17, 2019. Mass will begin at 2:30 p.m. If you and your spouse are celebrating your 50th anniversary this year and would like to participate, please RSVP by contacting
our parish office which will turn your names in to the Diocese. Please give the parish office the following information: • Husband name • Wife name (including maiden name) • Date of Marriage • Couple’s mailing address • Couple’s best phone Participants will receive a personal invitation with instructions from diocesan offices after the parish submits the names of those who will attend. Youth Group News …..Attention Grades 8-12! Our next youth group gathering is next Sun., from 6 to 8 p.m. at St. Columbkille Parish Hall. Come join us! …..On Sun., Oct. 13, the Diocese of hosting “Faith Afloat” on the Gateway Clipper. It will include dinner, games, prizes, an awesome talk, and a dance party! We will leave from St. Columbkille at 2 p.m., and return at 6:30 p.m. There is no cost, but you must register to Fr. Zach by Oct. 1.
