YOUR UNDIVIDED ATTENTION IS NEEDED FOR REGISTRATION AND 4-YEAR PLANNING. THIS IS HOW YOU REGISTER FOR 10 TH GRADE. Individual Graduation Plan (IGP) IGPs are made to be flexible and may change from year to year. Changes at the state level may impact the IGP. Course offerings are subject to change and are not guaranteed. The courses you choose now, for your 10 th grade year, will be used to register you for 10 th grade. Map out a plan, make good choices, and take responsibility for making sure you have the required courses to graduate.

To the far right is a box with Career/Career Pathway of Interest You MUST choose an area of interest in order to create a pathway for your 4-year plan. You will view CTAE Pathways on the next few slides. Look at ALL Pathways so you know ALL of your options.

PATHWAYS Pathway Courses/Classes follow a specific order. Pathway Courses/Classes must be taken in order. PATHWAY CLASSES Pathway Courses/Classes follow a specific order. Pathway Courses/Classes must be taken in order. The first Pathway listed is Agribusiness Systems Look at the Pathway You can NOT take Ag. Management & Leadership until you complete Basic Ag. Science and you can NOT take Marketing Agricultural Products & Services until you complete Ag. Management and Leadership. Look at the Plant Systems Pathway = You can NOT take Nursery and Landscape until you complete Basic Ag. Science, General Horticulture and Plant Science. Look at the Early Childhood Care & Education Pathway = You can NOT take Early Childhood Internship until you complete Early Childhood I, II, and Curriculum and Instruction. These are examples to show you Pathways follow a sequence and can NOT be taken out of order. All Pathway courses build upon each other.

It provides the option for an Industry Certification in the Construction Core. The course explains safety obligations of workers, supervisors, and managers to ensure a safe workplace. It includes the basic content of OSHA 10-hour safety standards. Basic knowledge and skills needed in construction are covered: construction math, hand and power tools used in the field, general blueprints, and basics of rigging safety. PATHWAYS 2014-2015 CAREER CLUSTER : FAMILY AND CONSUMER SCIENCE The foundation course for interior design introduces the student to the basic fundamentals of design and the design profession. Students will gain knowledge of the history of interior furnishing, basic math, English language arts, and science skills will be incorporated throughout the curriculum. Individual work, teamwork, and presentation skills will also be incorporated. PATHWAYS 2014-2015 CAREER CLUSTER : HEALTH CARE SCIENCE Students receive initial exposure to healthcare science skills and attitudes applicable to healthcare including the concepts of health, wellness, and preventive care. The changes in healthcare delivery systems and the subsequent impact on healthcare delivery for individual consumers is explored and evaluated. Medical terminology, microbiology, and basic life support skills are emphasized, as well as, the ethical and legal responsibilities of todays healthcare provider. Academics and other related sciences are integrated throughout the course. Students are required to meet both national and intrastate professional guidelines as designated by applicable regulatory agencies such as the Occupational Health and Safety Administration (OSHA) and the Centers for Disease Control (CDC). PATHWAYS 2014-2015 CAREER CLUSTER : ROTC The first course of all new cadets is JRTOC I. It is an aviation history course focusing on the development of flight throughout the centuries. The emphasis is on civilian and military contributions to aviation; the development, modernization, and transformation of the Air Force; a brief astronomical and space exploration history. There are readings, videos, hands on activities, and in-text and student workbook exercises to guide students. The program instills elements of good citizenship. It contains information on organizational structure, uniform wear, customs, courtesies, and other military traditions, health and wellness, fitness, individual self control, and citizenship. PATHWAYS 2014-2015 CAREER CLUSTER : BUSINESS AND COMPUTER SCIENCE Introduction to Business & Technology is the foundational course. It is designed for students to learn an overview of business and technology skills required for todays business environment. Knowledge of business principles, the impact of financial decisions, and technology proficiencies demanded by business combine to establish the elements of the course. Emphasis is placed on developing proficient fundamental computer skills required for all career pathways. Students learn essentials for working in a business environment, managing a business, and owning a business. The intention of this course is to prepare students to be successful both personally and professionally in an information-based society. WHY DO I NEED A PATHWAY?? Choose Pathways that are interesting to you and you would like to learn more about. The purpose of a Pathway is to introduce you to the field test the waters see if you really like the area. If you take a class, dont like it, then choose another area of interest. Exploration of Careers through CTAE Pathway Courses enables you to better understand and know what you really enjoy. Knowing for sure you like a certain field or area of study will help you decide which college and/or technical school courses to take after graduation. Discover through CTAE what you enjoy doing, it may be just a hobby later in life, or you may choose to make a career out of your discovery through CTAE classes and your Pathway Choice.

DUAL ENROLLMENT There are prerequisites to dual enrollment. Not everyone qualifies for dual enrollment. Some will qualify but schedules may conflict causing dual enrollment to not be possible. If you are interested in Dual Enrollment during high school, see your counselor for more information.

DUAL ENROLLMENT Dual Enrollment means you are enrolled at TCHS and also enrolled at another school such as ABAC or Moultrie Technical College (MTC). The Dual Enrollment Pathway Option is a Dual Enrollment Program with Moultrie Technical College right here in Tifton. You have the potential to earn certification in a pathway and/or degree in a pathway. MTC helps with job placement once a degree is complete. For example: If a student takes Introduction to Engineering and Technology at NEC he/she has the option of taking the COMPASS test in May. If the test is passed the student can dual enroll with MTC and TCHS to earn a degree in Mechatronics current salary 40K a year with this degree.
