Founded in 1933 by Joseph Brunaccini, Sr., The Colmar Belting Company has been meeting the power transmis-sion and belting needs of customers for three generations. Originally a manufacturer of flat leather belts, ColmarBelting began diversifying in the 1950’s as modern day V-belts made of nylon and other synthetic materialsbecame popular. With the passing of Joseph in 1962, sons John and Joseph Jr. took over the operations of thecompany. They were joined by younger brother Richard in 1966, upon graduating from Northeastern Universitywith a degree in Business Administration and Marketing. Richard, who now serves as President noted,“Throughout the growth of the company Colmar has continually diversified to meet the challenges of this rapidlychanging industry. Today, with four Road Sales Associates, covering the six state New England Region, we serve a much broader customer base and have become one of the leading regional distributors for a wide range ofproduct lines related to mechanical power transmission, materials handling applications and aggregate recycling.”

Colmar Belting stocks more than 40,000 items at its 16,000 square foot facility in South Boston. We service the needs of numerous industries including Aggregate, Manufacturing, Food, HVAC and Recycling. We maintain an extensive inventory in conveyor belting, pulleys, idlers, bearings, impact bars, and power transmission prod-ucts such as sheaves, V-belts, sprockets, and chain. Custom orders for slitting, fastening and vulcanizing beltsare done in house and usually ship the same day — or in the field as needed.

Habasit Link and KVP plastic modular conveyor belts can be custom made to any length and width, withflights and sideguards as an integral part of the belt,and are secured with full-length plastic hinge rods.

Each belt style is available in FDA Approved polypropylene,polyethylene, or acetal to meet a wide range of operatingtemperatures, chemical resistance and application require-ments. Because of the modular design, Link and KVP beltscan be installed within minutes without using complicatedtools or fasteners.

Sprockets are injection molded and feature an “open-window”design, which allows easy access for sanitation across thewidth of the conveyor shafts.
