We get comments like this pretty often: "You close this ramp or shift this lane or put up that new row of orange barrels. So when are you guys going to OPEN something?" The answer is soon....very soon ....like in just over a week! WHAT'S HAPPENING:

I-670 west to I-71 south shifts to its permanent alignment, opening up another bridge.

HOW YOU NEED TO GET READY AS YOU DRIVE:

Currently, drivers coming from I-670 west need to be in the LEFT lane to access I-71south.Starting Monday, August 26, drivers will need to be in the RIGHT lane for I-71 southand the LEFT lane will take drivers to the exit to Jack Gibbs Blvd and Cleveland Ave.

From I-670 west, stay in the right lane to exit to I-71 north.

Here is what you will when you are exiting at Cleveland Ave. or I-71 south.

WHY WE'RE DOING THIS:

Switching the traffic pattern allows us to complete work on the new Spring St. exitramp which, when complete, restores another route to downtown Columbus and thecampuses of Columbus State, CCAD and Fort Hayes.

ALSO WATCH FOR THIS CHANGE:

I-71 south shifts left to its permanent alignment starting August 26 by 5 a.m.

HOW YOU NEED TO GET READY AS YOU DRIVE:

Watch for traffic up ahead during rush hours and be prepared to be in the right lane ifyou're exiting at Broad St. or Main St.Once you pass the Cleveland Ave. exit, move to the left lane to exit I-71 south.

WHY WE'RE DOING THIS?

This straightens out the curve and opens up two new bridges.

There are more openings to come this fall and we'll be here for you to get you ready. So,get ready for opening season by staying tuned to our e-blast, Facebook and Twitter posts! Columbus Crossroads Project Gets National Recognition!
