This Booklet is for You!

This booklet is for those who are seeking truth in these chaotic days.

This booklet is for those who struggle with fear and anxiety.

This booklet is for those who have lost all hope.

This booklet is for those who feel lonely or discouraged.

This booklet is for those who question why they are here.

This booklet is for those who ask the question “does anybody care’?

This booklet is for those who do not know who to trust or who to believe.

This booklet is for those who struggle in any capacity.

I have to say to the above statements “that’s me”! I have asked all those questions at various times in my

life. And because I CARE about you I have put this booklet together to remind you of the ONE that

LOVES and CARES for you so much that HE LAID DOWN HIS LIFE for YOU! And ME!

However there is a catch. I have been led by God to put this together to encourage and share the truth of

God, not the so called “truth” of man. The catch? YOU have to decide if you will accept and believe the

truth shared in these pages.

Jesus said in this world you WILL have trouble, so anyone that tells you otherwise is not speaking the

truth. But Jesus goes onto say that He has overcome the world! So we also can overcome the obstacles we

face, that is IF YOU SO CHOOSE. You are not a victim. It’s your choice how you live, act. React and what

you decide to believe. Is called Free Will. A precious gift of God.

As you read through this booklet may you know that YOU ARE NOT ALONE and all Truth is found in

GOD’S PRECIOUS WORD! My prayer is that you will listen to God speaking to you as you read the

scriptures contained in this little booklet. Read it, believe it, pray it, and allow God to wrap His arms

around you and draw you close to Him.

God IS for You!

Dedicated to Terrie T. and Cathy R. with much love!

The Names of God

Biblically, names carry meaning. Names describe qualities and characteristics of the

person or being who bears the name. For instance, the Hebrew name Jacob (Genesis

25:26 ; Genesis 27:36) means “taking hold of the heel, supplanter, layer of snares,”.

However, after Jacob wrestled all night and prevailed, God changed his name to Israel

(“contender, soldier of God”) (Genesis 32:28). Therefore, in the Bible names reveal im-

portant information about the person or being.

But what about the names of God? What do they reveal about Him—His nature, char-

acter, attributes, attitudes—His very being? God refers to Himself by many different

names in the Bible, and with each name we learn more about Him. Often the first time

one of His names is used in the Scriptures gives us insight into the quality or charac-

teristic of God that He is revealing by that name.

I AM WHO I AM….

Is a revelation of God’s utter and complete self-sufficiency. It is a revelation of

God’s aseity. He alone is of Himself. God, and only God, is dependent on nothing. And

this means, for Moses and for Israel, that God is not dependent on Pharaoh’s coopera-

tion to accomplish what He has promised. In Exodus 3, therefore, God identifies Him-

self in two ways. He tells Moses that He is the covenant God, who is with His people,

and that He is the self-existing God, who needs nothing in order to be who He is and to

do what He purposes to do.

The Hebrew Names of God Elohim...

The first word translated as God in the Bible is found in Genesis 1:1: “In the beginning

God created the heavens and the earth.” God here is from the Hebrew Elohim. It is the

most-often-used Hebrew word translated as God in the Old Testament. It is translated

as God well over 2,300 times.

YAHWEH / YHWH / YHVH / JEHOVAH…

Strictly speaking, the only proper and most often used name for God. It occurs over

6,500 times. Translated in English Bibles "LORD" (all capitals) to distinguish it from

Adonai, "Lord." "Jehovah" is derived from the YHWH, the 'tetragrammaton' which is

all that remains of the name from the original Hebrew. The Jews from a feeling of rev-

erence avoided the utterance of this sacred name except on the most solemn occa-

sions. This name specifies immanence, a presence. Yahweh is present, accessible, near

to those who call on Him. (Deuteronomy 6:4; Daniel 9:14)

Jehovah Bore: The LORD Creator

In the beginning the Word already existed, and the Word was with God, and the Word was

God. He existed in the beginning with God. God created everything through him, and nothing was created except through Him. Jn 1:1-3 (NLT)

In the beginning God created • the heavens and the earth. Gen 1:1 (NKJV) • great sea creatures and every living thing that scurries and swarms in the water, and every

sort of bird Gen 1:21 (NLT) • man in His own image….male and female He created them. Gen 1:27 (NKJV) God the LORD, Who created the heavens and stretched them out, Who spread forth the earth and that which comes from it, Who gives breath to the people on it, and spirit to those who walk

on it: Isa 42:5 (NKJV) I have made the earth, and created man on it. I—My hands—stretched out the heavens, and all

their host I have commanded. Isa 45:12 (NKJV) For thus says the LORD,

• Who created the heavens,

• Who is God, • Who formed the earth and made it,

• Who has established it, • Who did not create it in vain,

• Who formed it to be inhabited: “I am the LORD, and there is no other. Isa 45:18 (NKJV)

….. who created all things through Jesus Christ; Eph 3:9 (NKJV)

Through Him God created everything in the heavenly realms and on earth. He made the things we can see and the things we can’t see—such as thrones, kingdoms, rulers, and authorities in the

unseen world. Everything was created through Him and for Him. Col 1:16 (NKJV)

“You are worthy, O Lord, To receive glory and honor and power; For You created all things,

And by Your will they exist and were created.” Rev 4:11 (NKJV)

El Chuwl: The GOD Who Gave You Birth

Before I formed you in the womb I knew you... Jer 1:5

For you formed my inward parts; you knitted me together in my mother's womb... Ps 139:13

My frame was not hidden from you, when I was being made in secret, intricately woven in the depths of the earth... Ps 139:15

Your eyes saw my unformed substance; in your book were written, every one of them, the days that were formed for me, when as yet there was none of them... Ps 139:16

For the Lord your God … will rejoice over you with joyful songs.” ... Zeph 3:17

For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared before-hand that we should walk in them ... Eph 2:10

For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope.... Jer 29:11

He chose us in him before the foundation of the world... Eph 1:4

For it is God who works in you, both to will and to work for his good pleasure... Phil 2:13

And God saw everything that He had made,

and behold, it was very good. Gen 1:31

(this includes you and me)

Do you realize that God loved us before we were born? And not only that but He has an awesome plan for us! And get this; He rejoices and sings

over us. He knows our shortcomings, faults and failures and yet

He REJOICES and SINGS over US!

Page 13: You Are Not

13

Your birth was no mistake and your life is no fluke of nature. Your parents may not

have planned you, but God did. God was not at all surprised by your birth. In fact, He expected it. Long before you were conceived by your parents, you were conceived in

the mind of God. He thought of you first. It is not fate, chance, luck, or coincidence that you are alive at this very moment. You are alive because God wanted you!

God selected every single detail of your body. He custom-made you just the way He

wanted it. Your race and nationality are no accident. He determined the natural talents you would possess and the uniqueness of your personality.

God made you for a reason; he also decided when you would be born and how long

you would live. Nothing in your life is by chance. It’s all for a purpose. Regardless of the circumstances of your birth God had a plan in creating you.

While there are illegitimate parents, there are no illegitimate children. Many children

are unplanned by their parents, but they are not unplanned by God. God never does anything accidentally, and he never makes mistakes. He has a reason for everything

He creates. Every person was designed with a purpose in mind.

God’s motive for creating you was His love. God was thinking of you even before he made the world. In fact, that’s why He created it! We are the focus of his love and the

most valuable of all His creation. So if your flesh ever tries to convince you that you’re not worthy enough to be used or that you’re just an accident, take authority over Sa-

tan’s lies and tell him to shut his mouth! Then boldly declare and remind him:

“The Word of God states that God chose me, and He planned a great future for me. I’m no acci-dent nor mistake! God knew me before the earth was created; He called me before I was formed

in my mother’s womb. He has long awaited my arrival! God wants to use me. I’m not going to listen anymore to your foul garbage and lies. I have an awesome destiny! In fact, I’m a signifi-

cant part of God’s plan!” I will walk in a way that honors the One who called and anointed me to be enlisted in His service!

God in His Majesty

It was in the year King Uzziah died that I saw the Lord. He was sitting on a lofty throne

high and exalted, and the train of his robe filled the Temple.

Isaiah 6:1 (NIV/NLT) Judah prospered under King Uzziah. He was a popular king. During his 52 year reign,

The Philistines were subdued, and settlements were established in their territory. The military strength and many domestic projects were developed. His name was on the

lips of all the people and spread even to Egypt. He was a national hero. The nation looked to him, depended on him and trusted in him. His death was a national tragedy.

The strong throne appeared empty and they began to fear for the future.

Sometimes God has to remove our idols before we can see Him. We put our trust and security in so many other things instead of God, like our job, bank account, or some

person. I think perhaps Isaiah was in national mourning with all the people of Judah, wondering about the future and weeping. In his mind he sees the empty throne of Uz-

ziah. Through his tears, another throne begins to appear. Its the throne of God! God is sitting on it! God's glory fills the place! He is surrounded by the seraphims who are

proclaiming; "Holy, holy, holy is the Lord of hosts; the whole earth is filled with His glory."

God had to empty the throne so Isaiah could see that the throne wasn't empty. At a

time of national crisis, personal tragedy or situations that we do not understand, we al-so need to see that God is on the throne. God is still in control. He still rules. He knows

what you are going through and He will take care of you!

Jehovah Shofet: The LORD is the Judge

God is executor of his righteousness within the created order. Jesus Christ shares in

this ongoing work. God’s commands and judgments meet perfect standards of justice, and his punishments and rewards are also perfectly just.

Everyone will stand before God in Judgment one day soon. God’s judgment of all peo-

ple at the end of the age has been entrusted to Jesus Christ who, at his return, will re-ward the righteous and punish the unrighteous. The unrighteous Judgment will be

based on deeds, the rejection of God’s revelation and of Jesus Christ.

The righteous who have believed God’s revelation of Jesus Christ are given eternal life and sealed with the Holy Spirit. Believers need not fear the last judgment, but should

live godly lives in anticipation of it. This judgment will be for rewards because salva-tion is already guaranteed.

It is God alone who judges; he decides who will rise and who will fall. Psalm 75:7 (NLT) O people of Israel, you are saying, ‘The Lord isn’t doing what’s right.’ But I judge each of you ac-

cording to your deeds.” Ezekiel 33:20 (NLT)

... Jesus is the one appointed by God to be the judge of all—the living and the dead. Acts 10:42 (NLT)

The Son radiates God’s own glory and expresses the very character of God, and he sustains eve-

rything [the entire physical and spiritual universe] by the mighty power of his command

[carrying the universe along to its predetermined goal] . When he had cleansed us from our sins

[by offering Himself on the cross as a sacrifice for sin, Himself and no other], he sat down in the

place of honor at the right hand of the majestic God in heaven [revealing His completed work

and His Divine authority ].This shows that the Son is far greater than the angels, just as the

name God gave him is greater than their names. Heb 1:3-4

God elevated him [Jesus] to the place of highest honor and gave him [Jesus] the name above all

other names, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under

the earth, and every tongue declare that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

Therefore, it was necessary for him to be made in every respect like us, his brothers and sisters, so

that he could be our merciful and faithful High Priest before God. Heb 2:17

But now Jesus, our High Priest, has been given a ministry that is far superior to the old priest-

hood, for he is the one who mediates for us a far better covenant with God, based on better prom-

ises. Heb 8:6

Our High Priest offered himself to God as a single sacrifice for sins, good for all time. Then Jesus

sat down in the place of honor at God’s right hand. Heb 10:12

The Advocate who pleads our case before the Father. 1Jn 2:1

Priests in the Old Testament were mediators between God and sinful man, offering

sacrifices that would reconcile the two. In the ancient world, an advocate was like a

modern defense attorney who pleads a defendant’s case before a judge. Our Savior is

the perfect Mediator/Advocate/High Priest.

Christ stands before the Father to plead our case. We are guilty of sin and unable to

meet the Lord’s demands. For those who are in Christ, God is no longer the Judge who

condemns us but the Father who adopts us into His family. Yet even though there is

no condemnation for those who are in Christ, we on occasion will continue to sin until

we are glorified. We continually need God’s forgiveness to encourage us to walk in ho-

liness. As we repent, Jesus advocates for us to restore our fellowship with God.

We Can Always Trust our Father God

The validity of a promise is dependent on the character and ability of the one who

makes it. People can always fall short, but thankfully, the Lord has the willingness and power to do everything He says. To truly understand why God will do what He says,

we must fully understand His character and the attributes that prove He is trustwor-thy. For example, He is:

Truthful

Truth is the very essence of His nature, it’s impossible for Him to lie. Therefore, we can believe in God’s promises because He always tells the truth. (Titus 1:2)

Faithful

If the Lord ever breaks a promise, our Christian theology falls apart because He would cease to be who He says He is. But since God has never failed to keep His word in the

past, we can trust Him for the future. (Heb. 10:23)

Immutable This means He never changes. Therefore, we don’t have to worry that He will alter a

promise. (Mal. 3:6)

Love His promises are always based on our best interests. Jesus said He would die for our

sins, and He did. If He loved us enough to keep that promise, we have no reason to doubt Him. (1 John 4:7-10)

These are powerful and undeniable reasons to trust the Lord and His promises. So

whenever you find yourself discouraged or doubtful, remind yourself of these quali-ties of God. (www.intouch.org)

Elohei Mikkarov; The God Who is Near

God is Always Listening!

We can have confidence that God will hear your prayers as the verses below prove. You never need to doubt!

For the eyes of the Lord are on the righteous, and his ears are open to their prayer. But the face of the Lord is against those who do evil. 1 Peter 3:12 Even before they call, I will answer; while they are still speaking, I will hear. Isa 65:24 The LORD has heard my plea; the LORD will answer my prayer. Ps 6:9 You know what I long for, Lord; you hear my every sigh. Ps 38:9 The righteous cry out, and the Lord hears, and delivers them from all their troubles. Ps 34:17 I waited patiently for the LORD to help me, and he turned to me and heard my cry.. Ps 40:1

So the real question is: Are we willing to listen to God?

“The Lord is far from the wicked,

but he hears the prayer of the righteous” Prov 15:29

Jehovah Shalom; The LORD Our Peace

The “secret” to Christian peace and contentment is not a gnostic secret. It is not con-

cealed knowledge only revealed to those who achieve higher degrees of holy enlight-

enment. This “secret” is hidden in plain sight throughout the Scripture and is available

to anyone who is willing to believe it.

God has not only gone public with this secret, but he invites us and longs for us to

know it. He does not want us to merely know about this secret, not to merely preach it,

explain it, enjoy the idea of it, or wish for it, but to know it by experience.

Jesus described the kind of experience he wants us to know:

“Therefore I tell you, do not be anxious about your life, what you will eat, nor about your body,

what you will put on. . . . [For] your Father knows that you need them. Instead, seek his kingdom,

and these things will be added to you.” Luke 12:22, 30–31

Paul, from prison, shared his experience of the “secret” with all who would listen:

“I have learned in whatever situation I am to be content. I know how to be brought low, and I

know how to abound. In any and every circumstance, I have learned the secret of facing plenty

and hunger, abundance and need. I can do all things through him who strengthens me.” Phi-

lippians 4:11–13

The secret to contentment is very simple. And it does not require heroic acts of pi-

ety. No, in fact it requires a childlike response from us. The secret is beautifully

summed up in this phrase:

“Trust in the Lord with all your heart” Proverbs 3:5.

El Yeshuati; The GOD of My Salvation

God’s work of salvation is accomplished supremely through the cross and resurrection

of Jesus Christ. Through faith, the believer is able to share in all the saving benefits won by Jesus Christ through his obedience to God.

Salvation fills believers with joy, but the devil tries to diminish its effect by sowing doubt

and confusion. Confidence about your salvation is essential to counteracting the enemy’s tactics—and it involves a what, a who, and a how.

• First, you need to understand what salvation means. Though physically alive, all peo-

ple are born spiritually dead—in other words, separated from the Father and lost in sin (Eph. 2:12). According to John 3:3, the only way to see the kingdom of God is to be

“born again.”

• Second, you must understand Jesus shed His blood on the cross to pay the sin debt man owed (Rom. 6:23). His substitutionary atoning death provided forgiveness of

sins for everyone who trusts in Him (Acts 10:43), and His resurrection is proof that He conquered death. When you trust in the Savior, your sins are forgiven and you

cross over from death to life (John 5:24).

• Third, you must know how to live in a God-pleasing way. This is impossible in hu-man strength. That’s why God sends His Spirit to permanently indwell everyone who

places faith in Jesus (Rom. 8:11). As we let the Holy Spirit have control, He’ll guide us into all truth (John 16:13) and empower us to achieve whatever God calls us to do.

Sin separated mankind from God, and we were spiritually dead. Jesus is the way to eter-

nal life (John 14:6), and the Holy Spirit provides the divine power and guidance to live righteously.

What blessed assurance!

Christ suffered for our sins once for all time. He never sinned, but he died for sinners to bring [us]

safely home to God. He suffered physical death, but he was raised to life in the Spirit…1 Pet 3:18

Because God’s children are human beings—made of flesh and blood—the Son also became flesh

and blood. For only as a human being could He die, and only by dying could He break the power of the devil, who had the power of death. Only in this way could He set free all who have lived

Jehovah Shalom; The Lord Our Peace

You will keep him in perfect peace, Whose mind is stayed on You, Because he trusts in You...Isa 26:3

The LORD gives strength to his people; the LORD blesses his people with peace...Ps. 29:11

Peace is what I leave with you; it is my own peace that I give you. I do not give it as the world does. Do not be worried and upset; do not be afraid...Jn 14:27 Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanks-

giving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus...Phil 4:6-7

The key element in true, lasting peace is the presence of God. Christ is our peace—His presence is the presence of peace within us (Eph. 2:14). And so Jesus declares, “In Me

you may have peace” (John 16:33).

What is this peace? It is an inner sense of contentment and quietness, regardless of life’s circumstances. It is steadfast confidence in our heavenly Father. It is the presence

of joy in the midst of unhappiness.

True peace does not merely dull our pain. A person who has genuine, godly peace can endure an avalanche of hardship and difficulty and still enjoy an inner peace that sur-

passes all human understanding. Why?

Because it does not come from pleasant circumstances, nice events, or good things oth-ers may do for us. Instead, it is based on the fact that the Spirit of our holy, omnipo-

tent, and never- changing God lives within us.

Page 39: You Are Not

39

Does enjoying God’s perfect peace mean that you’ll never feel the effects of the storms

raging around you? Hardly. But His peace is complete, adequate, and sufficient for an-ything you face. Keep in mind three keys to experiencing sustained peace:

Focus on God. Perfect peace comes when you fix your mind on God. You must discipline yourself to meditate on God’s presence and work. When you spend time concentrating on a prob-

lem, does it not seem to grow bigger? In the same way, you will have a greater sense of God’s presence and provision as you fix your mind on Him.

Trust Him. You never have to worry about God acting too late or providing insufficient help. His timing and purposes are perfect; in fact, He uses your tribulations to reveal more of

Himself to you. His Word is full of rock-solid promises, many of which involve grant-ing you peace. Know that He will always honor them!

Meditate on His Word. Psalm 119:165 emphasizes that those who love God’s Word have great peace. Your most precious material possession is your Bible. Every believer should love God’s

Word and feast on it daily. If you love it, you’re going to believe what it says— and then it will guide and anchor your life.

Jehovah Jireh; The LORD Will Provide

Worry is a waste of time and energy….

“That is why I tell you not to worry about everyday life—whether you have enough food and

drink, or enough clothes to wear. Isn’t life more than food, and your body more than cloth-

ing? Look at the birds. They don’t plant or harvest or store food in barns, for your heavenly Fa-

ther feeds them. And aren’t you far more valuable to him than they are? Can all your worries

add a single moment to your life?

“And why worry about your clothing? Look at the lilies of the field and how they grow. They

don’t work or make their clothing, yet Solomon in all his glory was not dressed as beautifully as

they are. And if God cares so wonderfully for wildflowers that are here today and thrown into

the fire tomorrow, he will certainly care for you. Why do you have so little faith?

“So don’t worry about these things, saying, ‘What will we eat? What will we drink? What will

we wear?’ These things dominate the thoughts of unbelievers, but your heavenly Father already

knows all your needs. Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and live righteously, and he will

give you everything you need.

“So don’t worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will bring its own worries. Today’s trouble is

enough for today...Mat 6:25-34

The Armor of God

Be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power.

Put on the full [every piece] armor of God, so that you can take your stand [stand firm]

against the devil's schemes [strategies].

For our struggle is not against flesh and blood,

but against the [evil] rulers, against the [evil] authorities, against the [mighty] powers of this dark world

and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.

Therefore put on the full armor [every piece] of God, so that when the day of evil comes,

you may be able to stand your ground, [you will be able to resist the enemy in the time of evil].

And after you have done everything, to STAND!

STAND YOUR GROUND !

putting on the belt of truth and the body armor of God’s righteousness.

For shoes, put on the peace that comes from the Good News so that you will be fully prepared.

In addition to all of these, hold up the shield of faith

to stop the fiery arrows of the devil. Put on salvation as your helmet,

and take the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.

Pray in the Spirit at all times and on every occasion.

Stay alert and be persistent in your prayers for all believers everywhere.

Becoming a Christian is the most important decision anyone can ever make. What does the Bible say about becoming a Christian? God loves you!!! God loves you!!! God loves you!!! (See 1 Jn 4:10)

• Sin separates people from God. (See Rom 3:23) • God sent Jesus so you would not have to die for your sin. • Jesus died on the cross, He was buried, and He rose from the dead. (See Jn 3:16)

How to Become a Follower of Christ

A—ADMIT to God that you are a sinner

"There is no one righteous, not even one ... for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God." (See Rom 3:23; Rom 6:23).

Ask God's forgiveness.

"Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved." (See Rom 10:13)

Repent, turning away from your sin (See Acts 3:19; 1 Jn 1:9).

B—BELIEVE in Jesus

Believe that Jesus is God's Son and accept God's gift of forgiveness from sin; (put your trust in Him) as your only hope of salvation.

"For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son,

that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life." (See Rom 5:8; Acts 4:12; Jn 3:16; Jn 14:6; Eph 2:8-9; Jn 1:11-13).

Become a child of God by receiving Christ.

"To all who receive him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God." (See Jn 1:12)

C—CONFESS that Jesus is your Savior and Lord

"If you confess with your mouth, 'Jesus is Lord,' and believe in your heart that God raised him

from the dead, you will be saved." (See Rom 10:9-10, 13).
