Mariposa Grove: Mariposa Grove is a sequoia grove located near Wawona,

California, United States, in the southernmost part of Yosemite National Park. It is the

largest grove of Giant Sequoias in the park, with several hundred mature examples of the

tree. Two of its trees are among the 30 largest Giant Sequoias in the world.

Badger Pass: Home to the oldest downhill skiing area in California and offers downhill

skiing and snowboarding from mid-December through March.

Taft Point: A viewpoint in Yosemite National Park, west of Glacier Point. It offers wide views

of Yosemite Valley, Yosemite Falls, and El Capitan. However, the main attraction of Taft

Point are the giant fissures in the mile high granite rock.

Sentinel Dome: A granite dome in Yosemite National Park, United States. It lies on the

south wall of Yosemite Valley, 0.8 miles southwest of Glacier Point and 1.4 miles northeast

of Profile Cliff.

Glacier Point: Overlook with a commanding view of Yosemite Valley, Half Dome, Yosemite

Falls, and Yosemite’s high country, is accessible by car from approximately late May

through October or November. From mid-December through March, cross-country skiers can

experience this view after skiing 10.5 miles.

Yosemite Falls: You can see Yosemite Falls from numerous places around Yosemite Valley,

especially around Yosemite Village and Yosemite Valley Lodge (formerly Yosemite Lodge).

A one-mile loop trail leads to the base of Lower Yosemite Fall (the eastern side of the loop,

from the shuttle stop to the base of the waterfall, is wheelchair accessible).

Lee Vining Canyon: The Lee Vining Canyon Scenic Byway is located in east-central California

and travels along California State Route 120 through the Inyo National Forest to the Tioga

Pass entrance of Yosemite National Park.

First protected in 1864, Yosemite National Park is best known for its

waterfalls, but within its nearly 1,200 square miles, you can find deep

valleys, grand meadows, ancient giant sequoias, a vast wilderness area,

and much more.

An icon of America’s majestic natural beauty, California’s Yosemite

National Park welcomes millions of visitors each year—drawn to its dramatic

waterfalls, giant sequoias, abundant wildlife, and awe-inspiring cliffs, like

Half Dome and El Capitan.

All park wildlife is wild, which means it can be dangerous and

unpredictable, perhaps in ways you can't envision. Squirrels and deer

injure far more people in Yosemite than bears and mountain lions.

Yosemite National Park is home to thousands of waterfalls—from towering

spectacles with a half-mile of cascading water, to tiny streams of white

that drop only a few feet. Spring is the best time to experience Yosemite’s

waterfalls.

Trip Length: Roughly 180 miles, plus any side trips

Best Time To Go: Year round. Tioga Rd. as well as Glacier Point

Rd. closes for winter

Supply Areas: Gas and food are available in Crane Flat, Fish

Camp, El Portal, Lee Vining, Tuolumne Meadows, Wawona &

Tioga Lake

Devils Postpile National Monument (west of Mammoth
