Requirements for Continuous OperationRequirements for Continuous Operation

The Enforcement Regulation of the Atomic Energy Act was revised in September 2005.

added two items to the existing PSR items(i) life assessment of the major components in consideration of the duration of an extended

operation,

(ii) assessment of the radiation effects for the environments changed after the operating license.

In human factors aspects, the resolution of HF PSR issues is required for a Continuous Operation.

Request for the Continuous Operation permit for Kori 1 (out of 30 years design life) was

submitted by July 2007.
