Yoga for the Special Child® Basic Program Victoria, Australia November 4-10, 2016 Yoga for the Special Child® is a comprehensive Program of Yoga techniques designed to enhance the natural development of children with special needs. Our Yoga style is gentle and therapeutic - safe for babies and children with Down Syndrome, Cerebral Palsy, Microcephaly, Autism and other developmental disabilities. These methods also provide an effective benefit for children diagnosed with Attention Deficit Disorder, ADHD and Learning Disabilities. Sonia Sumar and hear team teaches this comprehensive training course in the theory and practice of Yoga therapy for babies and children with learning and/or developmental disabilities from 0 to 12 years. This course is open to Yoga therapists, instructors and students, health care practitioners, and families of children with special needs. Program Teacher: Kathy Randolph will be instructing the teacher training in August. Kathy works closely with Sonia and travels around the world training students through the acclaimed Sonia Sumar Method. Students will receive an internationally recognized Special Yoga Certificate on completion. Kathy Randolph began her personal yoga practice in 1969 and started her study of Integral Yoga with her teacher Lisa Dalberg in 1990. After reading “Yoga for the Special Child” and with Lisa’s encouragement, Kathy began her training with Sonia Sumar in her first Basic Program in 1999. In 1999 Kathy also co-founded The Yoga Center in Reno, Nevada, created to facilitate Yoga for the Special Child. In 2002 Kathy began to apply the techniques of Yoga for the Special Child to scleroderma, which she presents at Scleroderma Foundation conferences around the U.S.
