Acupuncture:
Project Intro:
Acu punct ure is an a lte rna tiv e med ici ne tr ea ts pa tie nts b y man ipula tin g nee dles in h uma nbodies. This project, Acupuncture,is an add-on screen system on an existing building facadethat represents the idea of acupuncture wher e the interior is treated as the body and thesunlight as needles in the right positions.
Using Stainless Steal, we designed Acupuncturesun screen panels with the focus on theredirectio n and manipulation of light, the intent is to create a screen that is perceived as bothan ornamental light screen from the street level and functiona l light texture on the interior.Through the treatm ent of the building as a body and the screen as the skin, sunl ight ispunctured the screen at strategic relief point to control light within the space. The redirectedlight from the punctures will then serve as display lighting for products displa yed.
