As the American Cancer Society celebrates its 100th birthday this year, it is emphasizing the importance of ageappropriate colorectal cancer screenings and asking Californians to help defeat the disease by enrolling in a historic research study. An estimated 5,135 Californians will die from colorectal cancer (commonly called colon cancer) in 2013, accounting for nine percent of all cancer deaths. The Society recommends Californians reduce their risk of developing the disease by maintaining a healthy weight, getting plenty of physical activity, and eating a diet high in vegetables, fruits, and whole grains, and low in red and processed meats. Limiting alcohol intake can also reduce colon cancer risk. For information about colon cancer screening and nutrition and physical activity recommendations visit cancer.org/coloncancer. Colon cancer is highly treatable if found early. Half of all colon cancer deaths in the United States could be prevented if everyone followed recommended screening guidelines. Most people should begin screening at age 50, and those with a family history are at higher risk and may need to be screened earlier. Colon cancer death rates have dropped by more than 30 percent over the past two decades thanks in part to progress made by the American Cancer Society. The Society works with community partners to provide education and access to colon cancer screening in areas hardest hit by the disease. Societyfunded research has led to improved understanding about the link between diet and colorectal cancer, and the development of drugs to treat colorectal cancer. his spring, the Society is offering an unprecedented opportunity for Californians to change the face of colon cancer and all cancers for future generations by participating in a historic longterm study. 300,000 diverse men and women ages 30 to 65 who have never been diagnosed with cancer are needed to enroll in the American Cancer Society’s Cancer Prevention Study3 (CPS3). “Many cancer patients struggle to answer the question, ‘What caused my cancer?’ In many cases, we don’t know the answer,” said Alpa V. Patel, Ph.D., principal investigator of CPS3. “CPS3 will help us better understand what factors cause cancer, and once we know that, we can be better equipped to prevent cancer.” Dr. Patel added, “Our previous cancer prevention studies have been instrumental in helping us identify some of the major factors that can affect cancer risk. CPS3 holds the best hope of identifying new and emerging cancer risks, and we can only do this if members of the community are willing to become involved.” The opportunity for Californians to enroll in CPS3 will take place at the below local sites: In Palm Springs and Palm Desert from May 716; visit www.cps3palmsprings.org to register. In San Diego County at ten locations from March 1023; visit www.cps3sandiego.org to register. In Los Angeles County at dozens of locations from April 18May 9; visit www.cps3la.org to register. By Bryan QuinnWriting your first ebook may seem like a daunting task. But like many projects, it won’t seem so bad when it’sbroken down into manageable chunks. Not all projects aresuccessful, so don’t be too disappointed if your first ebookisn’t a best seller.Whatever the outcome of your first ebook, you can at leastsay ‘You did it’.Like many things in life, what often seems impossible canbe attained with the right attitude and the right equipment. It could be a marathon run, climbing a mountain or findingparking space at the supermarket. If you want to play golf, you will need clubs, balls and somepractice. There’s no guarantee you will become anotherTiger Woods but you will become a golfer. If you want to write an ebook, you will need a computer, software and some directions. Assuming you have acomputer and software or access to them, here are somedirections.Establish Your ReasonsYour reasons for wanting to writean ebook will have a major impact on your success. It maybe for financial gain, promoting a business, advancing yourcareer, education, self satisfaction or something entirelydifferent. Whatever your reasons, write them down. It willhelp to motivate you if the going gets tough.Choose Your SubjectThere are countless subjects thatyou can write about. It’s wise to choose something you havean interest in or knowledge of. It is worthwhile spendingtime on this. The more you know about your subject, theeasier it will be to write about.Choose Your TitleAfter you’ve chosen your subject, you’llneed a title for the ebook. It’s worth writing down a fewdifferent ones before deciding on the one you’ll use. Thiswill help to keep your focus and may give you some otherideas. The title should give a clear indication of the contentin your book. A catchy title may help to sell it, butremember to balance this with clarity to keep it in context.

I’ve written down two examples. Feel free to use them if youhave a sense of humor.A Clubbers Paradise Golfing in Ibiza 0 Minutes Late –The Future of TrainsChoose Your Audience The subject and style of yourwriting will determine your audience.Decide who your desired audience will be. Age, gender, culture, social background and education are factors youmay want to consider. What you write should be targeted atyour desired audience.Write Your Thesis StatementAlthough it’s possible to write your ebook without a‘thesis statement’, it is not recommended. If you areunfamiliar with this term, there are many sources availablethat will provide you with all the details you need.Unfortunately, there are some differences of opinion thatmay lead to confusion. The ‘thesis statement’ deserves a separate article of its ownbut for now I have written a general definition of a thesisstatement for ebooks. This may leave the door open forcriticism but is a small price to pay if it removes some of theconfusion. More importantly, it will give you a base onwhich to start. Only use it as a guideline. If you want a morespecific definition, Google is a good place to start yoursearch.A thesis statement is a sentence or two written to clearlyshow the reason(s) for your ebook and what you expect towrite about. Although I have referred to this as a generaldefinition, keep in mind that your actual statement shouldbe as specific as possible. Think of it as the foundation foryour ebook. It should contain the following: 1) Your subject2) Your opinion on the subject 3) A supporting reason foryour opinion 4) The significance of 1), 2) and 3)Create Your DocumentNow that you have thefoundation, you can begin writing. A standard applicationlike MS Word is a good choice. While you are writing yourdocument you can revise your thesis statement at any timeup until it is published. This provides a good degree offlexibility. Choose the format and layout of yourdocument, including chapters, headings andintroductions. Dependent on your subject, youmay wish to add photographs, anecdotes ortestimonials that keep the reader’s attention.Since an ebook is generally read from a screen, you may want to break up the text more than ina printed book. Experiment with a few differentfonts and look at other ebooks for ideas you canuse. Spell check and save your documentregularly. MS Word has an auto recoveryfeature. This is useful if you don’t save thedocument on a regular basis and laterexperience a system crash. Always backup yourdocument. As a precaution you should also keepa copy on another media such as CD.Choose Your Ebook Format This is apersonal choice. You may decide to create anexecutable (.exe) file or a Portable DocumentFormat (.pdf) file. By no means an exhaustivelist, here are some points to consider before youchoose. EXE files are compiled using an ebookcompiler EXE files may offer features that arenot available with PDFs EXE files can only beread on a PC EXE files don’t require any othersoftware to be read EXE files are easy to open, easily branded, and good viral marketing toolsEXE files may be susceptible to viruses althoughsome compilers offer virus protection Moreinformation on the better compilers can befound at http://www.ebooksite.com/ebookcompilers.html PDF files can be created usingAdobe Acrobat PDF files can be created withseveral other 3rd party applications. By Officer Rich HuntTo all our readers, as publisher of Yes We CanNewspaper I was present at the swearing inceremony along with my husband. As you readthis article which was the speech that OfficerRich Hund spoke to the guest that night, so toreally understand this article read it as those youwere sitting in the audience with me. So I nowintroduce Officer Rich Hunt.Officer Hunt The reason that we want to besworn in as the Board of Directors of the FontanaPolice Officers Association is to demonstrate thatwe believe in the importance of the association’sleadership role in the City and community. Each of us looks for several things when we aretrying to find a place to live, work and play; oneof the most important things is safety. We arenot going to move our family to a city unless wefeel they are going to be safe. Investors are notgoing to invest in businesses unless they believethe city where they set up shop is safe. And weare not going to spend our precious recreationaltime unless we feel we are going to be safe. The Fontana Police Officers Association ismade up of the men and women who are thefront line officers of our great city. We are thepractitioners, the people at the street level, whoare responsible for making Fontana safe and wetake our responsibility very seriously. In the past, some people have thought of police officers as abunch of big burly guys who can squash yourhead like a beer can. We do have people on thedepartment who look like that, but we also havesmaller officers. In fact, we have police officerswho come in nearly all sizes. Importantly, today’s police officer has to be knowledgeable.Gordon Graham, a retired Highway Patrolcaptain says that a police officer has the mostcomplicated job performance loop in our society.

For example, a police officer has to be educatedand know the law. A police officer must have anindepth knowledge of the penal code. It definesthe principles of criminal law in California. Apolice officer must know the Vehicle Code, thelaws of the road; a police officer must also knowthe Evidence Code, the complicated laws ofsearch, seizure, what can and what cannot beused as evidence and how it can or cannot bepresented in court. A police officer must knowmuch about business and professions, the Healthand Safety Code, Education Code and the city’smunicipal code.A police officer also has to be proficient inseveral other areas: sometimes we arepsychologists as we try to reason with an unrulyteenager or when dealing with someone who isdepressed and bent on committing suicide.Sometimes we act in the role of a minister as wecomfort a distraught parent whose childsuddenly died; sometimes we are teachers as wetry to explain why a young man should remain inschool; we are medical service providers as weattempt to revive a small child, who has beensubmerged in a swimming pool for the last fiveminutes; sometimes we are surveyors as we mapcomplicated crime scenes or engineers as wereconstruct a horrendous traffic accident;sometimes we are arbitrators as we attempt tosettle business disputes, family disputes orneighbor disputes that would confound theWisdom of Solomon; sometimes we areadministrators who write complete and detailedreports, who keep accurate records and trackcrime trends. We are public speakers atcommunity forums or as we testify in court.Sometimes we are called upon to use force, including making life and death decisions in aninstant, that can be more difficult as we hearbullets whiz by your head. We always have to

know what to do because that is what peopleexpect when they call us. The police will knowwhat to do; the police will solve our unsolvableproblem. We take pride in being professionals, in settingthe standards for ethical behavior. We arealways the most visible form of government; weare the symbols of the City of Fontana ofCalifornia and these great United States ofAmerica. Our job performance loop is highlycomplicated. It takes extensive training andeducation to do the job. It demands that policeofficers be exceptional persons. Unlike a doctoror a lawyer who maketheir decisions in thecontrolledenvironment of ahospital or courtroom, police officers maketheir decisions in thefield, often in outofcontrol environments. The uncontrolledenvironment is oftenthe very reason whywe are called to thescene. It is the vastknowledge andexperience a policeofficer must possesscoupled to theuncontrolled variablesand external settingswhich the police mustbring into control. Those are the thingsthat make the jobperformance loop of apolice officer the mostcomplicated

By Ethel MartinMillerThis month I want to give honor tothe falling Police Officers that we lostin the month of February. Mycondolence goes out to the families, their friends and all PoliceDepartments across the State ofCalifornia. My husband, Daniel and Iunderstand how it feels to lose yourlove ones unexpectedly. Our middleson, Brian Miller, 28 years old wasshot and killed last year, November 28,2012 and we are still praying andhoping that the killer will be captured.Yes, it will take time and prayer for allof us to make it through the daysahead, but with much prayer we will allmake it.On February 19th, Daniel and I wereamong the guest that attended theswearing in Ceremony for the Board ofDirectors of the Fontana Police OfficersAssociation. Mayor AcquanettaWarren performed the swearing in.The ceremony was held at the beautifulCenter Stage Theater located in theCity of Fontana. That ceremony iswhat lead me to write this article togive honor and respect to all policeofficers. I want to give much honor tothose individuals who made thedecision to become a policeman orpolicewoman in order to serve andprotect our citizens and communities. At the ceremony I heard Officer RichHunt share and explain the duties thatcan be performed throughout anofficer's daily routine. He explained in

detail whereas a layman couldunderstand that at anytime an officermay receive a call become the firstresponder at the scene, they may haveto handle any type of situation at thattime.I hope after you have read OfficerRich’s article many of you will embracethe duties that are performed by ourPolice Officers. Like anything elsethere are the undesirables that do nothave the best interest of the people, butI want to give credit to the ones whocare and that is giving credit wherecredit is due. We need to encourageour Police Officers when we have achance. They all put their lives on theline in order to protect all of us. Theyare human and have families like therest of us. Lets be real, as soon as weneed them we’re running to thetelephone dialing (911) crying for help.I found it necessary and I askedOfficer Rich for a copy of his speech toshare with our readers throughout theInland Empire. I felt that his speechrepresented not only the city ofFontana but all Police Officers in thedifferent counties. I now want you toread the article written by Officer RichHunt, Its titled “Swearing inCeremony”. His speech gave me a newoutlook and understanding of the workthat Police Officers are heldaccountable for. I am making my ownrecognition month for the PoliceOfficers of America it will be the monthof March.

By Ryan J BellThe seemingly unstoppable spreadof discounters and megastores can beunnerving to independent merchants, especially when they show up in theirtown or city. As small shop ownersstruggle, the bigbox retailers seem toget larger. So, what does the futurehold for the small business owners. There has never been a better time tooutmaneuver the mass merchandisers.Even as they grow larger, they becomeless capable of competing effectively inthe areas at which small shop ownersexcel. In this article, I'll provide anoverview of how independentmerchants can outcompete the giantretailers. You have the tools at yourdisposal. With focus, planning, andexecution, you can maintain and evenexpand your sales.Pricing For Profit MarginsOne ofthe few advantages that a chain storecan offer customers is low prices oncommodity items. They buy in bulkand can drive prices along with profitmargins into the ground. In fact, megastores often do so just to bring

people through their doors. Trying tocompete with a bigbox retailer onprice is a bad decision. Because of theirenormous coffers and economies ofscale, they will always win unless yousacrifice your margins. Avoid carryingcommodity items that the discountersare selling. Instead, offer yourcustomers highquality products. Manyshoppers are not motivated by price;they're willing to spend more forquality while shopping in a store thatprovides a higher level of customerservice. By catering to these shoppers, you'll preserve your profit marginswhile avoiding price wars.Minimize Your InventoryManyindependent merchants lock up theirbudget in inventory because they don'twant to sacrifice a potential sale. If acustomer wants an item, they want tobe able to provide it. Unfortunately, keeping items in stock is expensive ifyou're unable to sell them. Before long, you're marking products down anddestroying your profit margins in theprocess. When it comes to inventories, leaner isbetter. Specialty retailers can maintain

their flexibility by limiting the stockthey have on hand. That way, they canrespond to market demand morequickly, stocking their shelves whenneeded.Nurture Passionate EmployeesOneof the most powerful ways smallretailers can carve out their territory isby providing better service than themass merchandisers. The fact is, largechain stores cannot effectivelymaintain a motivated staff who canoffer the same level of service as youremployees. If you provide the trainingand product knowledge, and give yourstaff the independence and authority todo their jobs, they'll make sure thateach customer's needs are satisfied.Customer service is a potent featurethat many shoppers crave after beingdisappointed once too many times attheir local bigbox retailer. If younurture passionate employees, they'llbecome partners in finding solutionsfor your customers' problems.Out Of The ShadowsLocalmerchants often worry aboutdisappearing into the shadows of themegastores and discounters

encroaching upon their area. However,by leveraging the advantages of beingsmall and independent, they not onlycan insulate themselves from themegastores, but outmaneuver them.Bycarrying products that offer higherquality and stronger profit margins, small retailers can avoid costlymarkdowns and sales. By keeping theirinventories lean, they can respondquickly and take advantage of sales

opportunities as they emerge. Byproviding employees with the authorityand independence to do their jobs, theycan offer shoppers an unparalleledlevel of service. As the chain stores anddiscounters try to dominate theirterritory, independent shop ownershave a perfect opportunity tooutcompete them. The future ofspecialty retailing is bright, indeed.

Organizational Culture And Its ImportanceBy Linda Devis

The contemporary definition ofOrganizational Culture includes whatis valued; the leadership style, thelanguage and symbols, the proceduresand routines, and the definitions ofsuccess that characterizes anorganization. It is a specific collectionof values and norms that are sharedby people and groups in anorganization and that control the waythey interact with each other and withstakeholders outside the organization. Here, organizational values arebeliefs and ideas, about, what kinds ofgoals members of an organizationshould pursue and the appropriatekinds or standards of behaviororganizational members should use toachieve these goals. Fromorganizational values developsorganizational norms, guidelines orexpectations that prescribeappropriate kinds of behavior byemployees in particular situations andcontrol the behavior of organizationalmembers towards one another. In the past 25 years, the concept oforganizational culture has gainedwide acceptance as a way tounderstand human systems. From an

open system perspective, each aspectof organizational culture can be seenas an important environmentalcondition affecting the system and itssubsystem. Increased competition, globalization, mergers, acquisitions, alliances, and various workforcedepartments have created a greaterneed for organizational culture. Thus,it has become an important patternfor the organization's development.Below are important key ingredientsof Organizational Culture:It focuses attention on the human sideof organizational life, and findssignificance and learning in even itsmost ordinary aspects. It clarifies the importance of creatingappropriate systems of sharedmeaning to help people work togethertoward desired outcomes. It requires members especiallyleaders, to acknowledge the impact oftheir behavior on the organization'sculture. It encourages the view that theperceived relationship between anorganization and its environment isalso affected by the organization'sbasic assumptions.Organizational culture is possiblythe most critical factor determining an

organization's capacity, effectiveness, and longevity. It also contributessignificantly to the organization'sbrand image and brand promise.Organizational Culture creates energyand momentum. The energy willpermeate the organization and createa new momentum for success. Theabovementioned relevance oforganizational culture supports theproposition that, in this competitiveand globalized corporate scenario, there is huge need of organizationaldevelopment strategy at variousworkforce departments, as this canimprove the company's culture.

ByPierre Du PlessisIn an effort to define the word "integrity", I came up with someexplanations, after consulting some dictionaries andencyclopaedias. Integrity is made up of several words, meaningsand synonyms. It consists of a lot of what can be described asethical and moral values or civilised values. 1. Soundness:Thisrefers to how healthy an opinion, argument, reasoning or aresearch finding is, implying how free it is from flaw, defect ordecay. Also, how free is it from error, fallacy, ormisapprehension; exhibiting or based on thorough knowledgeand experience; legally valid; logically valid and having truepremises; agreeing with accepted views. It also means solid, firm, stable and thorough; showing good sense or judgment based onvalid information. 2. Completeness: It means having all necessaryparts, elements, or steps; highly proficient; totally, absolutely, thoroughly and fully carried out; including all possible parts. 3.Sincerity: It means fairness and straightforwardness of conduct;adherence to the facts. 4. Honesty: It implies a refusal to lie, steal,or deceive in any way. 5. Honor: It suggests an active or anxiousregard for the standards of one's profession, calling, or position.6. Probity:It implies tried and proven honesty or truthfulness.7. Incorruptibility: It implies trustworthiness and truthfulnessto a degree that one is incapable of being false to a trust, responsibility or pledge. It also finally means being incapable ofcorruption; not subject to decay or dissolution; incapable of beingbribed or morally corrupted. 8. Conclusion: The question to beasked is where does a nation stand with regard to these principlesof integrity; where does an organisation or political party standand finally what is my individual position? This synonymousquestion can also be asked: How civilised are we? 9. Resources: ,Stanford Encyclopedia of Philosophy, Wikipedia FreeEncyclopedia, MerriamWebster Online Dictionary 10. TheStanford University Encyclopedia of Philosophy states thefollowing: "Integrity is one of the most important and oftcited ofvirtue terms. It is also perhaps the most puzzling. For example, while it is sometimes used virtually synonymously with 'moral,'we also at times distinguish acting morally from acting with

integrity. Persons of integrity may in fact act immorallythoughthey would usually not know they are acting immorally. Thus onemay acknowledge a person to have integrity even though thatperson may hold importantly mistaken moral views. When used as a virtue term, 'integrity' refers to a quality of aperson's character; however, there are other uses of the term. One may speak of the integrity of a wilderness region or anecosystem, a computerized database, a defense system, a work ofart, and so on. When it is applied to objects, integrity refers to thewholeness, intactness or purity of a thingmeanings that aresometimes carried over when it is applied to people. A wildernessregion has integrity when it has not been corrupted bydevelopment or by the sideeffects of development, when itremains intact as wilderness. A database maintains its integrityas long as it remains uncorrupted by error; a defense system aslong as it is not breached. A musical work might be said to haveintegrity when its musical structure has a certain completenessthat is not intruded upon by uncoordinated, unrelated musicalideas; that is, when it possesses a kind of musical wholeness, intactness and purity.Integrity is also attributed to various parts or aspects of aperson's life. We speak of attributes such as professional, intellectual and artistic integrity. However, the mostphilosophically important sense of the term 'integrity' relates togeneral character. Philosophers have been particularly concernedto understand what it is for a person to exhibit integritythroughout life. Acting with integrity on some particularlyimportant occasion will, philosophically speaking, always beexplained in terms of broader features of a person's character andlife. What is it to be a person of integrity? Ordinary discourse aboutintegrity involves two fundamental intuitions: first, that integrityis primarily a formal relation one has to oneself, or between partsor aspects of one's self; and second, that integrity is connected inan important way to acting morally, in other words, there aresome substantive or normative constraints on what it is to actwith integrity. How these two intuitions can be incorporated intoa consistent theory of integrity is not obvious, and most accounts

of integrity tend to focus on one of these intuitions to thedetriment of the other.A number of accounts have been advanced, the most importantof them being: (i) integrity as the integration of self; (ii) integrityas maintenance of identity; (iii) integrity as standing forsomething; (iv) integrity as moral purpose; and (v) integrity as avirtue. These accounts are reviewed below. We then examineseveral issues that have been of central concern to philosophersexploring the concept of integrity: the relations between types ofintegrity, integrity and moral theory, and integrity and social andpolitical conditions." Employment5A www.YesWeCanNewspaper.com March 2013

By Howard SmithThere's hardly a shortage of gainful employment nowadays, butonly for people who know how to adapt to the skills andexperience a career position requires. While it's true that somefields require specializations and skill sets, these are gained eitherwith advanced education or with enough handson experience;everyone starts on equal footing. Even if you're settled on a fieldand position, you'll still benefit by going through this rundown ofessentials you need to belong to the career pool's primehandpicks. See if you have what it takes before you start yourcareer and head out for interviews.Your communication skills will matter. You'll likely be part of ateam, and the first rule of the workplace is to get along witheverybody else. Conflicts and differences are roadblocks toproductivity, which means time, effort, and money lost for thecompany. You don't even have to be an extrovert to relate topeople. If you know the tasks of your job well enough, then youcan identify with others on any campaign you're working on,

regardless of the part you play in the process. Communicationskills are both verbal and written: make sure you brush up on thejargons of your industry so you can compose reports fitting to thetask.Your decisionmaking skills could mean the difference betweenprofits and losses. Even if you're not assigned as the leader ofcampaigns, your task requires you to make decisions that'll affectother people. Fudge a monthly report and your superiors willmake decisions based on faulty data. Overlook a system flaw andyou may have just set up the entire campaign for disaster. The bigpicture matters, but the small details pile up and make adifference. Headhunters are always on the lookout for someonewho can assess risks and make decisions, so make sure yours isdeveloped enough to make the cut.Can you set realistic, practical, and structured goals? This is thequality which separates leaders from followers. In the modernworkplace, everyone in the company is expected to know how toset and implement goals by default; you can't just be a cog in amachine someone else is operating. It's fortunate that this skill is

developed over time, and you should go through plenty oftraining to hone your competence as an employee and teamplayer. It's the attitude of determination bosses are looking for, though. You have to be selfmotivated at the outset, especially ifyou're a applying for positions higher up the ladder ofopportunities.Your skills, academic record, and experience are of primaryimportance, but you're probably up against with many candidateswith these prerequisites to offer. In the end, it's usually the wellrounded candidate who'll nab the position you're gunning for.You can check this site for Workpac job search if you're scoutingfor options, and you can narrow down the list of positions you'llqualify for before you send over copies of your resume.Opportunities are yours for the taking with enough preparation, agogetting attitude, and matching skills for the job. You can'tafford to let the next guy take your slot, so head out to the workfields and take what's rightfully yours.

Measure up to the Qualities Required by Your Career Path

The Meaning and Definition of Integrity

There are generally three types ofpeople looking for jobs—newgraduates beginning their careers, individuals who have lost their jobs, and jobholders who are looking fornew postings. The days when a jobmeant a lifetime commitment are longgone, and nowadays, people are notjust changing jobs, they are alsoswitching professions. Whatever thereason, anyone interested in finding ajob has essentially three avenuesavailable:1. Scanning the newspapers for jobadvertisements2. Registering on a job board andapplying against the job ads3. Networking with hiringmanagers/employees of possibleemployersThe first option is commonly used as abackup method because ads for jobsthat suit a person's skills andrequirements can be few and farbetween. Trying to find jobs usingstrictly newspapers or jobadvertisements is likely to take a longtime, if they result in anything at all.Let us consider the second option, jobboards. In spite of the huge increase inInternet and Internetbased jobportals, and the growing number ofpeople subscribing to job portals, many recruiters may have theerroneous impression that themajority of applicants using thismethod are undesirable, unpromotable and unemployedcandidates, or chronic jobhoppers. This makes personal networking and

word of mouth the preferred hiringmethod for organizations, especiallywhen it comes to hiring Clevelexecutives. However, the third option, personalnetworking, ensures a verytransparent method of recruiting thatsuits both parties. Yet successfulnetworking requires good networkingskills. What are good networking skills?Networking skills are the art ofconnecting, socializing or interactingwith your immediate peers, colleagues, fellow industry professionals and thelike. Social networking has creatednew ways to communicate and shareinformation. Networking can alsoentail finding investors, getting newsales leads, learning something newabout the business from a third party, conducting business roundtablegroups with industry associations, talking to competitors and suppliers, and even going beyond the industry totalk with thought leaders in otherareas. However, good networkinginvolves more than justconnecting—like any relationship, itrequires continuous nurturing andregular contact.Social networking has become a highlypopular worldwide phenomenon withsome big brands like MySpace,Facebook and LinkedIn boastingmillions of dedicated users. When itcomes to hiring, however, personalcontacts still tend to deliver moremotivated applicants who are morelikely to complete the applicationprocess. Despite the fact that socialnetworking is so huge, there is a

singular lack of awareness about howto network in a suitable manner withrespect to one's profession/business.This comes from the obvious dangersof networking with unfamiliar peopleand hence, people apply a cautionarystance. But networking online, if notdone properly and with caution, willoften lead you to the wrong endresults. Hence, it is very important tojoin the right kind of networkinggroups or websites.Because social networking is a largelyyouthrelated phenomenon, it is awidely leveraged tool for youthentering the job market. However, according to a recent study, one of themajor drawbacks facing the use ofpersonal networking is the lack ofbasic communication skills. This leadsto a lack of the necessary soft skills andprevents the very constructivemechanism of twowaycommunication that is crucial innetworking. However, at the end of theday, it is the job seeker who mustrealize that in today's competitiveenvironment, merely graduating fromcollege does not ensure being offered ajob. Graduates must actively seekmeans of developing skills, networkingand being visible within a communityof influence.More than 30 percent of the employeesbeing hired in private organizationscome through employee referrals—thehighest from any one particular source.Other things being equal, employersrefer referrals to other means of hiringbecause it gives them the opportunityto invest in, and benefit from, theiremployee's personal relationships.

Information that is unstructured, sensitive and difficult to broadcast, which both the employers and the jobseekers usually seek, is best exchangedthrough personal networks. Studieshave shown that the positive effects ofemployee referrals on hiring chanceshave enhanced the role of networkingin the hiring process. In the lastdecade, popular Internet networkingsites have poured into the recruitmentspace and are used by RPO companies. These niche networking websites helpcompanies leverage the networks oftheir employees; they also helpcompanies unearth passive candidates. The networking sites are a goodmedium to find contacts from yourcurrent and prior employers, clients, vendors and schools.Hiring generally starts with anemployer reaching out to potentialemployees. Personal networking playsa key role in attracting people whootherwise would not have applied. Thetendency of personal contacts toattract qualified candidates iscontingent on a reputation factor. When a referrer is known by theemployer, the candidate is usually agood match, as the referrer is puttinghis/her own reputation at risk torecommend the candidate. One of the major mistakes committedwhen networking is not acting on thenetwork. The network is always liveand better if most of its participantscontribute regularly. The very essenceor success of a social networkinginitiative lies in its members'networking ability, which leads tonewer/better initiatives and thought

processes. While it is easy to get, and objectivelyverify, low bandwidth informationsuch as education, credentials andsalaries using job portals and otherprocessoriented methods, highbandwidth information, whichincludes personal traits andmotivation, are difficult to objectivelyverify. Personal networking brings anemployer closer to this high bandwidthinformation.Although hiring through personalnetworks has some shortcomings, oneof them being the ability of the hiringdecisionmakers to be influenced bythe candidate, selfempowerment andimproved social cohesion within a firmare two of the top reasons managersprefer referred candidates.Companies are constantly battling inthe war for talent and looking atemployable skills. A comprehensivetalent management strategy isessential in retaining your staff. Part ofthis is well structured performancemanagement. In the absence of aprocess and system where it is easy tobroadcast information that isunstructured and sensitive, where it isdifficult to objectively validate highbandwidth information regarding anapplicant, networking will continue toplay an important role, both for jobseekers and employers. Like the oldsaying, better the devil you know thanthe devil you don't.

TTHHEE WWOORRDDOne Of The Most Powerful Tools a Christian Has Is PrayerBy Pastor John Clark

One of the most powerful toolsChristian has is prayer. But in orderto have a purposeful and productiveprayer life, I think it is vitallyimportant to make sure that wereexamine our prayer lives to surethat our practices lines up with theword of and the will of God. We mustcome into the knowledge that prayer isnot groveling and begging God tointervene. No, Prayer is communionwith the Father. Our prayer should bebased relationship. It is our petition toa wise, powerful, and loving Father. Most of my life I was taught that the socalled Lord’s Prayer was appropriateand fitting. Even today, it continues tobe recited in churches ever where. ButI wonder how many have reallystopped, to listen and really meditatedon what is being said? The prayer wasa guideline for the disciples and is notappropriate for us today.Remember this mortal prayer wasgiven to people who had not been bornagain, and was never for a born againChristian. When Jesus said to hisdisciples in John 14:14 If ye shall ask

any thing my name, I will do it. Thisverse is not for prayer as some bibleheading suggest. Jesus said in theJohn 16:23 And in that day ye shall askme nothing. Verily, verily, I say untoyou, Whatsoever ye shall ask theFather in my name, he will give it you.In light of this scripture John 14:14can’t be prayed, for nowhere inscripture, are we ever told to pray toanyone but God; in Jesus name. NotJesus, not Mary, and certainly not toany saints or angels. BUT GOD ONLY!Sense John 14:14 is not for pray, whatis it for? It was for service or doing thework of God.John 14:10 Believest thou not that Iam in the Father, and the Father inme? the words that I speak unto you Ispeak not of myself: but the Fatherthat dwelleth in me, he doeth theworks. This verse speaks of the serviceof God john 14:1112 speaks of theworks and greater works 14:11 Believeme that I am in the Father, and theFather in me: or else believe me for thevery works' sake.14:12 Verily, verily, I say unto you, Hethat believeth on me, the works that Ido shall he do also; and greater works

than these shall he do; because I gounto my Father. But John 14:14 itmeans demand. (vine dictionary)For the word of God you have beengiven commanding authority in thename of Jesus. What is the word ofGod? John 6: 2829 28 Then said theyunto him, What shall we do, that wemight work the works of God? 29Jesus answered and said unto them,This is the work of God that ye believeon him whom he hath sent. Mark 16:1718 17 And these signs shall followthem that believe; In my name shallthey cast out devils; they shall speakwith new tongues;18 They shall takeup serpents; and if they drink anydeadly thing, it shall not hurt them;they shall lay hands on the sick, andthey shall recover. Acts 16: 1618 16And it came to pass, as we went toprayer, a certain damsel possessedwith a spirit of divination met us,which brought her masters much gainby soothsaying: 17 The same followedPaul and us, and cried, saying, Thesemen are the servants of the most highGod, which show unto us the way ofsalvation.18 And this did she manydays. But Paul, being grieved, turned

and said to the spirit, I command theein the name of Jesus Christ to comeout of her. And he came out the samehour.I want to call your attention to verse16 they were going to pray, anotherincident Acts 3:1 Now Peter and Johnwent up together into the temple atthe hour of prayer, being the ninthhour. Again the disciples are on theway to pray, when they healed a lameman in the name of Jesus Christ ofNazareth walk again I want you notethey were on their way to pray.On Acts 4:3 3 And they laid hands onthem, and put them in hold unto thenext day: for it was now eventide. Theywere put in jail for healing the manverse 7 Act 4:7 7 And when they hadset them in the midst, they asked, Bywhat power, or by what name, have yedone this? Act 4:910 9 If we this daybe examined of the good deed done tothe impotent man, by what means heis made whole; 10 Be it known untoyou all, and to all the people of Israel, that by the name of Jesus Christ ofNazareth, whom ye crucified, whomGod raised from the dead, even by himdoth this man stand here before you

whole. So you can see by the scripturethat John 14:1414 If ye shall ask anything in my name, I will do it. Is notpray, But for serving or work. In John16:23 23 And in that day ye shall askme nothing. Verily, verily, I say untoyou, Whatsoever ye shall ask theFather in my name, he will give it you.This is pray, and according to verse 24John 16:24 24 Hitherto have ye askednothing in my name: ask, and ye shallreceive, that your joy may be full.(Hitherto meaning up till now).Up till now the name of Jesus couldnot be used in prayer because hisname had not been glorified.Philippians 2:810 8 And being foundin fashion as a man, he humbledhimself, and became obedient untodeath, even the death of the cross.9Wherefore God also hath highlyexalted him, and given him a namewhich is above every name:10 That atthe name of Jesus every knee shouldbow, of things in heaven, and things inearth, and things under the earth;

At the close of a prayer meeting, the pastor observed a little girl, about twelve years of age, remaining upon her knees, whenmost of the congregation hadretired. Thinking the child hadfallen asleep, he touched her, andtold her it was time to return home.To his surprise, he found that shewas engaged in prayer, and he said:“All things whatsoever ye shall askin prayer, believing, ye shallreceive.” She looked at her pastorearnestly, and inquired: “Is it so?Does God say that?” He took up aBible, and read the passage aloud. She immediately commencedpraying. “Lord, send my fatherhere, Lord, send my father to thechurch.” Thus she continued forabout half an hour, attracting by hercry the attention of persons whohad lingered about the door.At last a man rushed into thechurch, ran up the aisle, and sankupon his knees by the side of hischild, exclaiming, “What do you

want of me?” She threw her armsabout his neck, and began to pray:“O Lord convert my father!” Soonthe man’s heart was melted, and hebegan to pray for himself. The child’s father was three milesfrom the church when she beganpraying for him. He was packinggoods in a wagon, and feltimpressed with an irresistibleimpulse to return home. Drivingrapidly to his house, he left thegoods in the wagon, and hastened tothe church, where he found hisdaughter crying mightily to God inhis behalf, and he was there led tothe Saviour.“He that dwelleth in the secretplace of the Most High shall abideunder the shadow of theAlmighty....He shall call upon me,and I will answer him. I will be withhim in trouble, I will deliver him.”Psalm 91:1,15. Children if yourparent are not going to church withyou, keep praying to God for them.

Prevailing Prayer Of A Child

By Pastor John ClarkA forgery is any act or crime ofimitating or counterfeiting documents, signatures, etc. to deceive. In order tounderstand what is meant by thereligious forgery you must understandthe difference between the oldcovenant and the New Will.A covenant is simply an agreement, usually formal, between two or morepersons to do or not do somethingspecified. The old covenant was between Godand Israel. Exodus19:58 states: "Nowtherefore, if you will indeed obey Myvoice and keep My covenant, then youshall be a special treasure to Me aboveall people; for all the earth is Mine. 6And you shall be to Me a kingdom ofpriests and a holy nation.’ These arethe words which you shall speak to thechildren of Israel.” 7 So Moses cameand called for the elders of the people, and laid before them all these wordswhich the Lord commanded him. 8Then all the people answered togetherand said, “All that the Lord has spokenwe will do.” So Moses brought back thewords of the people to the Lord.Deuteronomy 4:13 "And he declaredunto you his covenant, which hecommanded you to perform, even tencommandments; and he wrote themupon two tables of stone."Deuteronomy 5:13 " And Moses calledall Israel, and said unto them, Hear, OIsrael, the statutes and judgmentswhich I speak in your ears this day,

that ye may learn them, and keep, anddo them. 2 The Lord our God made acovenant with us in Horeb. 3 The Lordmade not this covenant with ourfathers, but with us, even us, who areall of us here alive this day. This covenant was sealed bycircumcision Genesis 17:914(emphasis on verses 10 & 14) "9 AndGod said unto Abraham, Thou shaltkeep my covenant therefore, thou, andthy seed after thee in their generations.10 This is my covenant, which ye shallkeep, between me and you and thyseed after thee; Every man childamong you shall be circumcised. 11And ye shall circumcise the flesh ofyour foreskin; and it shall be a token ofthe covenant betwixt me and you. 12And he that is eight days old shall becircumcised among you, every manchild in your generations, he that isborn in the house, or bought withmoney of any stranger, which is not ofthy seed. 13 He that is born in thyhouse, and he that is bought with thymoney, must needs be circumcised:and my covenant shall be in your fleshfor an everlasting covenant. 14 And theuncircumcised man child whose fleshof his foreskin is not circumcised, thatsoul shall be cut off from his people; hehath broken my covenant."A will or testament is a legaldeclaration by which a person, thetestator, names one or more persons tomanage his estate and provides for thetransfer of his property at death. Before we go farther you need to

understand that the books of Matthew,Mark, Luke and John are the Gospel. The New Will (New Testament) beginsin Acts not Matthew. Hebrews 9:1617"For where a testament is, there mustalso of necessity be the death of thetestator (will writer). For a testament isof force after men are dead: otherwiseit is of no strength at all while thetestator liveth." Jesus took away thefirst (old testament through His death)that he might establish the second.Hebrews 10:10 By the which will weare sanctified through the offering ofthe body of Jesus Christ once for all."Matthew 26:28 For this is my Blood ofthe new testament (will) which is shedfor many for the remissions(forgiveness) of sin (not sins).Forgiveness means to send sin off oraway; but the primary meaning is toseparate the sin from the sinner.Remember, sin dwell in the fleshRomans 7:23 "And they that are inChrists' have crucified the flesh withthe affections and lust." Since flesh hasbeen crucified sin has no place to live. Now that we have accepted Christ asour Savior, and are led by the Spirit ofGod , we are sons of God. Romans 8:14" 14 For as many as are led by theSpirit of God, they are the sons ofGod.” Galatians 4:7 " 7 Wherefore thouart no more a servant, but a son; and ifa son, then an heir of God throughChrist." Romans 8:17 "And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and jointheirs with Christ; if so be that we sufferwith him, that we may be also glorified

together."Now that I am an heir, what do Iinherit? Ephesians 1:1314 "13 Inwhom ye also trusted, after that yeheard the word of truth, the gospel ofyour salvation: in whom also after thatye believed, ye were sealed with thatHoly Spirit of promise, 14 Which is theearnest of our inheritance until theredemption of the purchasedpossession, unto the praise of hisglory.”The Holy Spirit, which is myinheritance until redemption. TheHoly Spirit is our helper. He helps usto operate in the fourth dimension andreceive the benefits of the New WILL,which brings us to the RELIGIOUSFORGERY.In his book, Healing the Sick andCasting Out Devils, T.L. Osborn tellsus, "Many preachers and teachers havedared to "reword the WILL." Which isnothing less than forgery, since noWILL may be changed after the deathof the one who made it. Before leavingthis world, Jesus left His Father'sWILL regarding the sinful and the sick,by stating, "He that believeth and isbaptized shall be saved." And "They(believers) shall lay hands on the sickand they shall recover." Falsepreachers, teachers and elders may"cheat" you out of the benefits ofCalvary by misinterpreting the"WILL" to you. But friends READ THEWILL for yourself. If you are sick andneedy, refuse the unscripturalinterpretations of those who come to

your bedside, telling you to suffer on,etc. All heaven stands ready to enforceevery covenantright of yours, whenyou dare to be BOLD in claiming them.Satan is a liar, and the father of lies, and he delights to blind men andwomen to their covenantrights, and totheir Calvarypurchased BENEFITS,"Ye shall know the TRUTH, and theTRUTH shall make you FREE" (John8:32)Again we see that by looking to theWord of God we receive a revelation ofwhat God is eager to do for us, andwhen we see that God is actually eagerto set us free by healing us of oursicknesses and diseases, it thenbecomes easy to have faith then GodWILL do what He said He WANTS todo FOR US that is revelation faithpower." Managing Your Finances?Understand Your Credit Card FirstHaving enough knowledge about thebasics of your credit card will help youmake good choices and preventunnecessary charges once you receiveyour monthly bill. Below are somecredit card guidelines that can help youuse your credit cards the right way.Know the right card for youThere aredifferent types of credit cards to choosefrom. Private label and secured creditcards are typically used at selfservegas stations or issuing stores, whilegeneral use cards can be used for anytype of transactions. The differencebetween the two is that the privatelabel cards have a security deposit, which is refundable in the event ofdefault, while general use cards aremostly unsecured and the credit limitis based on the current credit standingof the card holder. Because of thelower risks associated with securedcards, they are preferred by most firsttime card owners to limit their

spending, preventing the possibility ofdamaging their credit status in thefuture. In case you have a bad recordand you need an unsecured credit card, make sure to ask your issuer first ifunsecured cards are available for thosewith damaged credit.Maintaining good credit standingAlways remember that having goodcredit affects not only your credit cardpurchases but also your longtermfinancial investments like apartmentleases, car loans, mortgages or evenpersonal loans. Establishing goodcredit is a long process, but takingsimple steps, like paying bills on timeand not maxing out your card, areessential to maintaining a good record.Your card company may also offer youlower interest rates because they knowthat you're a good client.Bad credit can happen to youLearnto understand that being in debt is oneconsequence of using a credit card. Ifyou have too many debts, lenders maythink that you are a risky borrower, so

they will put high interest rates onyour succeeding loan applications.Take this as a challenge. Once you areresponsible enough to pay off yourdebts and your payment record is ingood shape, you might be able toborrow money with ease. What's moreimportant at this point is that you havelearned your lesson and that you aredetermined to put your credit statusback on track.Credit card fraud is a serious threatThe most unfortunate event that canhappen to a card holder is credit cardfraud. Criminals don't discriminate. They will target people with spotlessrecords and those with bad credit.Learn how to prevent credit scams bykeeping an eye on your credit. Anyunauthorized purchases should bereported to your issuer, so that theycan offer credit protection for youraccounts. Peace of mind is what youwill get from credit protection .

By Kyle TurnawayFor anyone who has ever been indebt, they know how hard it can be toget out of it. For those people withmultiple loans from different banks orcompanies, it can be even morefrustrating to keep track of it all.Various due dates, interest rates, andother aspects can easily confuse aperson. For those people who aretrying to get out of debt but aren't sureexactly how they're going to do it maywant to turn to debt consolidation. What is Consolidation? Debtconsolidation is a process ofeliminating debt that involves takingout one loan to pay off several others. This doesn't put a person farther intodebt, but rather rids a person ofmultiple loans, bringing all their debtinto one place under one loan. This isusually ideal for people withoutstanding credit card debt, as it canhelp to lower interest rates.Benefits of Consolidating DebtThiscan have a number of excellent

benefits for a person who is in debt. For one, it puts all of their debt intoone place to make it easier to keeptrack of. Consolidation also turnsmultiple interest rates into oneuniform rate, also making it easier totrack. Payments are made easier, too,as there is only one payment at a timeinstead of numerous deadlines fromdifferent places, and consolidation canlower monthly payments, making iteasier to get rid of debt. Because of allthis, people tend to get out of debtfaster when they consolidate theirdebt. How to Do ItThe difficulty ofconsolidation can vary greatlydepending on the amount of money aperson owes and how manyorganizations they owe the money to.A person could consolidate their debtson their own by applying for a loanand paying off their other loans withthat money. However, many peopleturn to a debt consolidation companyor a debt lawyer to help them get ridof their outstanding debts. These

companies offer excellent services forthose in debt, from providing adviceand expert knowledge to helping theirclients get loans. Other valuableservices they offer include easy waysto track the loan through newtechnologies, free financialcounseling, and simple paymentplans. When to Consider ConsolidationConsolidating debt is not ideal foreveryone, but it is one of the bestoptions for those who are havingtrouble paying their bills or have toomany loans to keep track of. Peoplewho have a large amount of creditcard debt often consolidate their debtto reduce interest rates and to makeeliminating their debt easier. Otherpeople who should considerconsolidation include those whofrequently make late payments ormiss payments, those people who areusing a credit card to pay their bills, and those who want to reduce theirinterest rates and monthly paymentsfrom several different loans.

Consolidation is an excellentalternative to bankruptcy and can bethe debt elimination solution thatmany people are looking for.

By Deanne RepichHow Female Hormonal Changes CanContribute to Anxiety and PanicAttacksSome women are more sensitive tohormonal fluctuations than others. Formany women, anxiety issues appearfor the first time during periods ofhormonal change. For other women, hormonal changes intensify previouslyexisting anxiety symptoms.Anxiety is one of the most commonsymptoms of PreMenstrual Syndrome(PMS), postchildbirth, andperimenopause (the period of timebefore the onset of menopause). It maytake the form of panic attacks, nervousness, sweating, intense fear, anxiety combined with depression, orother overwhelming symptoms. Here are several periods of hormonalchange that can intensify or triggeranxiety in women. Puberty Developing girls experience hormonalchanges as they prepare to begin their

reproductive years. Monthlymenstrual cycle Often girls andwomen experience PMS the weekbefore their period. Followingchildbirth The severe drop in certainhormones following childbirth cancause dramatic physical symptoms anda temporary feeling of depression oranxiety; in some women, it isprolonged.Perimenopause Perimenopause isthe period of time when the body isapproaching menopause. It may lastfrom two to ten years. During this timethe menstrual cycle becomes irregularas the hormone levels keep fluctuating, causing some women to experiencePMSlike symptoms. Although manyof us may use the term "going throughmenopause" to describe this period oftime, it is actually calledperimenopause. Many womenexperience panic attacks for the firsttime during perimenopause. Othersymptoms such as insomnia, hotflashes, rapid heartbeat, and sweating

are also common. With surgical menopause(hysterectomy), you'll likely experienceperimenopausal symptoms after thesurgery, even if you did not experiencesymptoms prior to surgery. Symptomscan be prolonged and are due to thedramatic and sudden decrease ofcertain hormones as a result of thehysterectomy. In nonsurgicalcircumstances, menopause occurs aftera woman has no periods for twelveconsecutive months. It lasts only oneday. Many women report feeling betterthan ever mentally and physically aftermenopause, due to the fact thathormone levels stabilize.Hormonal Change Triggers the FightOr Flight Response Due to the fact thathormonal change causes physical andpsychological stress, it triggers our"fight or flight" response. The fight orflight response is the body's inborn, selfprotective response to perceiveddanger. When we perceive that we areunder stress, our bodies send out arush of cortisol, adrenaline, and otherbrain chemicals to prepare us to "fight"or "flee" the danger. The fight or flightresponse triggers the physiologicalchanges that we associate with anxiety, such as rapid heartbeat, increasedblood pressure, sweating, muscletension, narrowed mental focus, heightened emotion, and many othersymptoms. These are the same physicalsensations that many womenexperience when their hormone levelsfluctuate. In other words, most of thesymptoms women experience duringtimes of hormonal change are reallyfight or flight reactions. While thesephysical sensations are not dangerous, they can be very intense andoverwhelming. Our fight or flightresponse mechanism can become"hypersensitive" with the varioushormonal changes in our bodies thattake place from puberty to menopause.

Many of us are in a constant state ofstress due to our lifestyle and thoughtpatterns, which also causeshypersensitivity. In other words, our bodies may bestuck in the "on" switch of fight orflight. What normally wouldn't triggersymptoms, now initiates symptomsand perpetuates an ongoing cycle.Fight or flight reactions in and ofthemselves are harmless. However, when our thoughts convince ourrational minds that these symptomsare scary and dangerous, we create ananxiety cycle. Anxiety consists of morethan fight or flight reactions acting bythemselves. Unproductive thoughtsplay a critical role in creating andperpetuating the anxiety weexperience. Our thoughts convert fightor flight reactions into anxiety, and aselfperpetuating cycle begins. Soonwe find ourselves limiting ourbehaviors because of anxiety as well, which further entrenches the viciouscycle. When a person is under stress, unresolved emotions and issuescommonly come to the forefront.Because hormonal change is a majorstressor, it can bring up internalconflicts and selfdoubt in many areasof our lives. All of a sudden, we mayfind that the negative selftalk that wesuccessfully pushed to the backgroundof our lives during less stressful timesis now playing center stage.During periods of hormonal change,we may also feel uncertain about ourchanging roles (e.g. maturing from girlto woman, becoming a mother, becoming a mature woman pastchildbearing years), which can add toour internal conflict. When we fail tosuccessfully resolve internal conflictsand the unhelpful thought patternsthat contribute to them, we create abreeding ground for anxiety.Combined with fight or flightsymptoms, it's no wonder that theseunproductive thoughts create and

perpetuate the anxiety cycle! What canyou do if hormonerelated anxietyaffects you? Here's some greatnews! The same tools that you can useto overcome anxiety due to otherreasons can help you to conqueranxiety related to hormonal changestoo. Research shows that cognitivebehavioral techniques that help youchange unhelpful thoughts andbehaviors, lifestyle changes, relaxationtechniques, and nutritional strategies(all found in our Conquer AnxietySuccess Program) can help womendealing with hormonal changes. Thesetypes of strategies not only helpwomen regain a sense of control overtheir lives, but actually achieveimproved physical and emotional wellbeing! Here are a few tips to get youstarted: Focus on reducing preventablestress in your life that triggers the fightor flight response stop the yoyodieting; increase sleep to eight or ninehours a night; exercise regularly; don'tskip meals; cut back on your franticschedule; and decrease stimulants, such as caffeine. The body isn't designed for constantstress. When we are bombarded withstress, our ability to cope can becomeoverwhelmed because the elevation instress hormones makes the fight orflight switch remain "on." Learn howto train your body to responddifferently to stress so that you canautomatically turn the false alarm "off"when the fight or flight response istriggered. Relaxation techniques suchas deep breathing, yoga, meditation, and progressive muscle relaxation canhelp you achieve this goal. Most importantly, learn how to changehow you think. Our thoughts are whatconvert the harmless fight or flightresponse into a vicious cycle of anxiety.Remember, just as our thoughts holdthe key to creating anxiety, they alsohold the key to eliminating it!

By Joomi LeeI used to weigh 242 pounds. At 5'6”, that ismorbidly obese. Two years ago, I dropped downto 150 pounds. A few months ago, I topped thescales again at 198 pounds. Right now I am 182pounds again. My weight loss story is a downhillroller coaster story. Two years ago, people askedme how I lost the weight. I would tell somepeople superficial “common sense” reasons, suchas: avoid fast food restaurants, drink morewater, and so forth. But the real reason I lost allthat weight is because I wrote down mymemories, thoughts, and emotions in the formof an autobiography. When I stopped writingdown my feelings is when I gained most of theweight back. I wanted to give you a photocopy ofmy cruise photo from about ten years ago. I havestarted losing weight again because I havestarted writing again. You see, most people do not know thatoverweight people actually have tremendouswillpower. I deliberately stuffed down all mysad, angry, depressed, and negative feelings intomy body with too much food and drink. Once Istarted releasing my feelings onto a piece of“paper” is when the weight lifted off my body. You can write down your autobiography and

release your negative feelings/fat in the form ofwords. Use your tremendous willpower to write alengthy autobiography. Some of you may not be ready for thisimportant psychological step. One woman eventold me that, “Oh, I'm not ready for that!” Butwhat if you are? Where do you start? Author andactress Marilu Henner wrote a book released lastyear called “Total Memory Makeover” thatexplains exactly how to do that. Once you start, you will be amazed at what comes back to yourmind and the weight will melt off you, I canpromise you that!

How To Get Nice Muscle Tone And Build An Attractive Muscular BodyBy Chris Chew

Most people know that they need tolift weight build muscles. Howevermany just want to have nice muscletone and an attractive but not toomuscular body as they do not want bigmuscles. So they just lift light weightswith high repetitions. Well, it is notgoing to work. To have nice muscletone, you will have to build somemuscles right? So you will have to liftheavy to force your muscles to grow.Once you are satisfied with the size ofyour muscles, you will then need to cutyour body fats for your muscles toshow up well and that means nicemuscle tone. You need to have a solidcommitment and knowledge to get nicemuscle tone and build an attractivemuscular body. Here are some musclebuilding tips. Before you commenceweight training, remember to warm upand as well as doing some stretchingexercises. •Train Muscle With FreeWeights Machines will have its uses,

but for a start, concentrate on freeweights. That means work almostexclusively with barbells and dumbbells. Free weights recruit manystabilizing muscles for balance andcontrol. That means you will work a lotmore muscle parts other than theintended ones. That will give rise tolittle bumps, striations and definitionsall over your body instead of one hugelump of muscle on your intendedmuscle. Because of the extra stimulantcreated, your muscles grow faster too.Why else do you think all professionalbody builders almost exclusively usefree weights?Train With Compound ExercisesIncorporate as many compoundexercises as possible to your routines.Compound exercises are exercises thatinvolve 2 or more joint movements.Because they utilize more joints, whichmeans greater muscle mass areinvolved. Greater muscle mass meansheavier weights. Heavier weights meanencouragement of greater musclegrowth. More muscle growth means

more tone to your muscles.Someexcellent compound exercises are theSquat, Deadlift, Chin ups, Dips, Benchpress, Barbell Press, Lunges, BentOver Barbell Row...etc.•TrainIntensively But Do Not Over trainYou must train intensively for yourmuscle to grow. Try to do more reps oradd more weight than the previoussession or else your muscles will think(actually muscles don't think, theyadapt), "Ah... we've done that. Nothingnew, so no need to grow bigger andstronger." That being the case, you willwreck your chances of attaining anattractive muscular body.Because of this, it is important thatevery time you train hard, you giveyour body time to recover as it hassuffered strains and actually sustainedmany small scarring. Contrary topopular belief, your muscles growwhen you rest, especially when yousleep and not in the gym. So sleep atleast 8 hours a day. Also, do not traineveryday or work the same musclegroup more than once or twice a week.

If your training was vigorous enough,do no more than an hour per session.Try not to do cardio work on thesame day as your weight lifting work.In fact, during the muscle buildingphase, you should do less cardio workas aerobic exercises burn muscles. Youcan increase your cardio work atcutting body fat phase, so as to losebody fat in order for your muscle toneto show up nicely.Technique And FormThis is themost neglected fundamental ofbodybuilding. Everywhere, everyday, you will see people using wrong formsand techniques. This not onlycompromises your growth, it will alsomake you susceptible to injuries...sometimes even permanently puttingyou out of the gym. Wrong form occursusually when people try to lift weightsthat are too heavy, whether out ofvanity or ignorance. As a guide, alwayslift with strict focus on the muscle youintend to build for that exercise. Feel itcontract and extend. Lift the weightsdeliberately and slowly. Never ever

swing your weights up especially whendoing bicep curls or the military press.Build Muscles Fast You MustPerform Lower Body ExercisesThis iswhat most people don't realize. Yourlower body makes up 6070% of yourmusculature. If you don't train them, not only will you look spiderlegged, your entire body will not grow asquickly and as large. Don't think thatyou can hide those skinny limbs inpants! Most people do not train theirlegs because squats, dead lifts andlunges can be very grueling exercises. But it is precisely because of suchintensity that you will produce moregrowth hormones when you sleep andoverall muscular development isstimulated. Your body shape will alsobe more balanced and therefore moreattractive. Do read up more tounderstand how your muscles workand then work on it so that in no timeyou will be a proud owner of a welltone attractive muscular body.

By Qaiser AbbasI know what to do. I recognize thebenefits of doing it. I understand thenegative consequences of not doing it.I have the competence and resourcesto do it. But I still don't do it.'Does this story sound very familiar? Iam sure you will agree with me that weall encounter postponements that keepus from doing what is critical for oursuccess. We cannot always controlwhat happens to us but we can alwaysexercise control over how it will impactus. We do not have to let delays defeatus. We don't have to give into theseenergy suckers and become a victim ofprocrastination. Why should we leaveourselves at the mercy of ‘The Guilt ofthe Incomplete'? But first the questionarises, why do we do that? Why do we procrastinate? Before wediscover a treatment for this universaldisease, ‘procrastination', let us look atsome of the reasons behind it.1.Waiting for the right mood You don'tfeel like doing it. Your mood is low and

you are emotionally down. 2. Waitingfor the right time, you don't think thatit is the right time to take action, whenactually it is. 3. Lack of clear goals, howcan you feel inclined to do it when thegoal is not clear?4. Underestimating the difficulty of thetask. You thought doing it was no bigdeal, but when you started you realizedthat you would have to put in muchmore effort than you first thought. Knocking out Procrastination

By Joe HigginsIf your inner adult is to stay in thedriver's seat at work and not allowyourself to be overcome byworkplace stress, you need tounderstand your triggers: those ‘hotbuttons' that are guaranteed toprovoke a reaction in you. We all

have them, whether we realise it ornot. It could be something as simpleas a word or phrase that your parentsused when scolding you as a childthat now immediately causes you tolose your temper whenever it's usedin your presence.By identifying the triggers throughproper leadership training and

executive coaching and graduallytraining yourself not to respond tothem, you can begin makingdecisions based on choice and logicrather than impulse, allowing thedifferent aspects of your personalityto complement and strengthen eachother rather than existing in a stateof conflict, thus minimisingworkplace stress. If you train othersto do the same, you will see adramatic improvement in employeemotivation throughout yourorganisation.Think of leadership training andexecutive coaching as being likegoing to the gym: if you're to see theresults you want, it's not enough togo just once or twice then give up atthe first sign of adversity. If you stayfocused and keep a cool head, remembering everything you learntduring your leadership courses, you'll soon find things becomingeasier and easier. So it is withleadership programs and Resiliencetraining – if you are patient andpersistent, you are sure to see resultsand you'll eventually be able to startpassing on the benefits of yournewfound Resilience to others, transforming them into starperformers and improving yourteam's overall level of employeemotivation!
