US safety and survival technology expert ACR Electronics, Inc. works across a range of industries, and designs and manufactures live-saving equipment such as Emergency Position-Indicating Radio Beacons (EPIRBs), Personal Locator Beacons (PLBs), and Search and Rescue Transponders (SARTs).

Saltwater Stone was employed to provide PR support on its AIS transponder range and SurvivorClub initiative, and we continue to support the introduction of innovative new products into the safety at sea sector from ACR Electronics and its brands Ocean Signal, United Moulders, ARTEX and NAL Research.

CLIENT FOCUSFLIR/RAYMARINE

In early 2017 Saltwater Stone was appointed by FLIR System’s maritime division to handle public relations and advertising for the EMEA region for FLIR and Raymarine product lines. Saltwater Stone’s PR and media intelligence executives support the UK-based marketing team with specialist knowledge of the leisure, superyacht and commercial media landscape.

The first task for the PR team was to assist with the organisation of a three day press launch of the Raymarine Axiom Pro and the new FLIR thermal imaging cameras on the Italian Lakes. Nearly forty members of the marine leisure press from over a dozen countries attended. Previous experience handling media launches within Europe ensured the team were ‘good to go’ within hours of their appointment. Working closely with the Raymarine team ensured the completion of an enjoyable and efficient event which resulted in outstanding media coverage.

The Yacht Harbour Association’s International Marina of the Year 2017, Karpaz Gate Marina is a luxury eastern Mediterranean marina in Northern Cyprus. Shortly after opening for operation, its marina management company, Sea-Alliance Group, approached Saltwater Stone on a recommendation to manage its PR and Social Media.

We continue an integrated approach to promote the marina facilities as well as the location as a sailing destination and an attractive homeport. We provide boat show support, brochure writing, as well as editorials and input into features which are targeted to key publications and linked to advertising campaigns. Proactive campaigns on Social Media engage with visitors, boat owners and local residents to inform, educate and interact.

The Saltwater Stone design team was selected for the product advertising campaign for Jotun Marine Coatings, a subsidiary of the Jotun Group, a leading supplier of paints and powder coatings worldwide.

The brief’s objective was twofold; to raise awareness of Jotun as a supplier of vessel tank coatings and its brand Tankguard; and to focus on the premium product within the range.

Jotun’s marketing team wanted to clearly communicate the benefits and advantages of this product as it had become apparent decisions to purchase were based more on perception than technical ability and the team needed to recalibrate the messaging, improve visibility and increase sales.

The Saltwater Stone studio follows a rigorous and proven design process from: research and close collaboration with the client to begin to outline the best possible visual solutions for the project; to multiple concept design approaches, as shown right; to refining the preferred route at the design development stage; through to delivery of all the required assets and roll out, as shown far right.

The print and online advertising campaign required an extensive range of formats and the design team has vast experience in supplying advert adaptations across all platforms to production standards, liaising direct with publishers. By managing the project from the concept stage through to delivery of final artwork enables marketing departments to concentrate their efforts on other activities.
