ScienceScience is one of the 3 core subjects in the National Curriculum. This is delivered at Key Stage 3 through the 4 strands of progression determined by the National Curriculum:

1) How science works 2) Organisms, behaviour and health 3) Chemical and material behaviour 4) Energy, electricity and forces5) The environment, Earth and the universe

At KS3, Science is delivered using a tailored SOW based on the Exploring Science and QCA for 3 lessons per week.

All students within a year group follow the same Scheme of Work differentiated to an appropriate level to meet the needs of individual students.Different groups may complete the curriculum in a different order to ease demand for practical equipment. All groups will have studied all topics by the end of the year. Some individuals, groups or classes may work at a faster pace and/or study more extension work than others according to the ability of the group/individuals.
