LC: Can I create a KWL grid about the
Romans?
This week in Humanities the children were
given the opportunity to share any exiting
knowledge they had on the Romans. They
came up with some great facts and it was
clear that the working wall had sparked their
interest. The children were then given an
opportunity to discuss what they would like
find out about the Romans.

Romans conquered
many countries.

the background, which sparked lots of interesting
discussion.

I think the image shows
what London used to be
like in Roman times.
- Flora
I think the image
is of Roman ruins.
- Sonny
I think the O2
shouldn’t be in
the image
because there
aren’t any other
buildings
around.

LC: Can I recognise the differences between
migration, immigration and invasion?

countries before
their country is
at war.

Myth?
In English, the children learnt the myth of

plan and write their own Roman myth. The
children used actions and drama to help them
remember the story before creating their very
own versions.

Indus Valley people
had wells and a
sewerage system.
- Bukunmi
Learning the myth
made it so much
easier to create
my own.

L.C Can I investigate Boudica’s importance and why She is remembered today?
In this week’s humanities, children were given
two different images of Boudica to see if they
could spot the possible differences in a

The children then researched who she was and
had to use their research skills to answer the
learning challenge.
I found out that Boudica
was the queenof the
British Celtic Iceni tribe.
- Azeezat
Boudicca is
considered to be a
British folk hero.

Boudicca was
remembered for leading

killed herself to avoid
capture because she
was very brave.

Boudicca’s rebellion
comes from the
writings of the

may be.

L.C Can I write my conclusions as to why I think Boudica was so important and why she
is remembered today.

their research or statements from images.
Boudicca’s
appearance was
terrifying and she
was very striking.
Nat
Boudica and her

from the point of
view of a poor
Roman child. I
