Reading Our new book for Guided Reading is the Roald Dahl book Fantastic Mr Fox. You can enjoy reading the book for free at this website: www.park-way.kent.sch.uk/media/4072/fantastic-mr-fox-text.pdf Please read Chapter 1 called ‘The Three Farmers’ from page 1 to page 2. Then draw a picture of Farmer Boggis, Farmer Bunce and Farmer Bean. Annotate your drawings and add words to describe the three men. For example, you could add chicken farmer, mean, criminal and massively overweight for Farmer Boggis.

Topic This week our project is to learn all about the space. Please read the facts about the planet Mars at this website https://www.natgeokids.com/uk/discover/science/space/facts-about-mars/ Using the information, create your own quiz questions and test an adult to see how much they know about the red planet. Here’s one question to help get your started. How many moons does Mars have? Answer: Mars has two moons. One is called Phobos and the other Deimos.

Spelling

Find out the names of the planets in our solar system and learn to spell them. Challenge: Write the names down in alphabetical order. Then write the planet names in order of size from biggest to smallest. Remember the planet names like Mercury will need capital letters because they are proper nouns.

Be active: Train like an astronaut. Design an obstacle course in your home or garden. Find your pulse and count your heart rate for one minute before and after completing the course. What happens? Does your pulse get faster or slower? Watch Newsround on BBC iPlayer and discuss what is happening in the world.

Have a good day and keep up the excellent work!
