I hadn't seen the wardrobe before. It wasn't there last night. Cautiously, I turned the handle... Inside there were old, moth-eaten, fur-coats that hung down like furry bats to block my path. They tickled my bare hands and wrists as I pushed them apart and made my way into the wardrobe. I began to feel cold; my breath floated away in a ghostly stream as I went further. Then the furs ended. And the magic began. I couldn’t believe it. Is this real? I thought. In front of me was a forest of colossal, ancient trees that rose up so high I couldn’t see the top of them. My feet were aching from the cold as I had sunk into snow as white and squishy as a marshmallow. The cold air smelt so fresh, especially after being surrounded by the musty stink of the old furs.
