Director's Message What a great year for motorcycling fun I've

had, starting out with my mid-winter ride in February and still rolling now in late October! I've covered lots of ground, starting in Oley, P A, on up to Rockland, ME, with many miles between those two points. I've seen many of my fellow Yankees along the way and we've enjoyed some great miles and good times together. Picking the best day would be hard, so many things have happened along the way.

I was talking with Frank Degenero in Hebron and he was telling me how much fun he and Bruce Linsday had been having over the course of year - every day an adventure. He told me that something funny always happens and there was always a story to tell at the end of the day, and it's true. A group of Yankees were on hand to see them through to the end, at the Chesapeake meet. Riding to every meet this year was quite an accomplishment. To show our support, Yankee Chapter presented them each with a beautiful trophy provided by Bob Frink. (Thanks, Bob!) Those two put on 5000+ miles this year, just riding to each meet. Goes to show old things and their riders can't be held back.

I have been an A . M. C .A . member for nearly 20 years now. Over the years I've made many good friends. I've always felt bad that so many of you live so far away. Saying "See you next year" seems like a long way off when it's only September. I know that come spring time, I, for one, am looking forward to the first meet of the year where I can see all my old buddies and catch up.

Unfortunately this AMC season is rapidly coming to an end, but we still have the Xmas party to look forward to on December 3. I hope that everyone can make it. Not only will there be lots of good food and company to enjoy, but this is an election year for the Yankee Chapter and several seats are being vacated. As always, we're looking for enthusiastic Yankees to fill these openings. This is your chance to make a difference and help out. If you're interested, please contact me and I'll be glad to answer any questions about being an officer and what it entails.

Billy Campbell tells me that he plans on riding his 1924 JD sidecar rig, which was the 1995 Giles Adams trophy winner, to the party. Let's see who else can ride in.

See you there,

HENDERSON-We were not content to

build a motorcycle that was merely delightful to ride.

The trade we wanted -and have secured- demands more than a dull, monotonous looking machine that is seen in use by thousands on the street.

If you want DISTINCTIVE INDIVIDUALITY- besides the highest qualities of excellence-the HENDERSON will appeal to you.

Write for our catalog and introduction to "HENDERSON BILL."

Of course he charmed a hug out of this Chatter photographer.
