• Yahoo’s initial name was “Jerry’s guide to the World Wide Web”

• Yahoo’s is an acronym for “Yet Another Hierarchical Officious Oracle”

Yahoo’s Logo

• The first logo was red and had 3 icons on each side. Since May2009, the logo was changed to purple with no outline or shadow.

How does Yahoo started?

• In order to keep track of founder’s (Jerry Yang and David Filo) personal interest on the internet

• They broke sites into different categories and develop subcategories.

• They developed Yahoo’s own search technologies since 2004
