“But we also needed flexibility and the peace of mindthat the fleet would be managed and servicedefficiently.”The solution The package proposed by Yale covered every aspectof the fleet’s management without any hidden costs.It included a tyre replacement programme, fullservice schedule, monthly KPI reports and regularreview meetings to ensure the fleet continues to meetthe customer’s needs as its business grows andchanges in line with customer demands.New generation of electric counterbalance trucksIncluded within the 15-strong fleet are two Yaleelectric counterbalance VF forklift trucks, the mostmanoeuvrable fourwheel electric forklifts currentlyavailable. Providing a turning radius comparable withmany three-wheel forklift trucks in the market. Thetwo 1,600kg capacity forklift trucks are used in the‘Goods In’ area, unloading products from the threecontainers that arrive every day.Mark adds: “The Yale VF is an outstanding forklifttruck. It is extremely comfortable for the operator andis very easy to manoeuvre, especially in tight andconfined spaces, which is vital in our ‘Goods In’ areawhere space is at a premium.”Power to the fleetThe Assa Abloy fleet also includes one 2,500kgcapacity VG series cushion tyre electriccounterbalance forklift truck, and four Yale MP181,800kg Pedestrian Controlled Motorised Pallettrucks, used to pick smaller items and packageswhich are then deposited in the marshalling/despatcharea.
