Santa Maria Goretti—6 luglio O piccola Maria Goretti che

sacrificasti la vita per conservare illibata la tua verginita’ e che,

morente, perdonasti al tuo uccisore promettendo di pregare

per lui dal Cielo, aiutaci a superare noi stessi nel difficile cammino di

questo mondo cosi’ profondamente sconvolto dalle piu’ violente passioni. Ottienici la grazia

della purezza dei costume e quella di un grande amore verso i nostri fratelli.

Con la fine di giugno, arrivano

anche le vacanze estive. Vogliamo

ricordarvi, che mentre le vacanze

danno il riposo, meritato al nostro

corpo, non dobbiamo dimenticare di dedicare del

tempo anche allo spirito. Cerchiamo di onorare

la domenica; recandoci in chiesa. Vi preghiamo

We extend our sympathy and prayers to the family of POMPEO LAMANNA who passed away on June 16, 2019 at the age of 89. The funeral was

celebrated on Wednesday, June 26, 2019 at our Parish. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.

ST. THOMAS, APOSTLE JULY 3rd

Thomas the Apostle, also called Didymus ("twin"), was one of the Twelve Apostles of Jesus

according to the New Testament. Thomas is commonly known as "Doubting Thomas" because he

doubted Jesus' resurrection when first told of it; later, he confessed his faith, "My Lord and my God," on

seeing Jesus' crucifixion wounds. St. Thomas was born a Jew and his feast day is celebrated July 3.

He is recognized as the patron saint of architects.

He was a dedicated but impetuous follower of Christ. When Jesus said He was returning to Judea to visit

His sick friend Lazarus, Thomas immediately exhorted the other Apostles to accompany Him on the trip which involved certain danger and possible death

because of the mounting hostility of the authorities.

At the Last Supper, when Christ told His disciples

that He was going to prepare a place for them to

which they also might come because they knew both

the place and the way, Thomas pleaded that they did

not understand and received the beautiful assurance

that Christ is the Way, the Truth, and the Life.

SCHOOL’S OUT...SUMMER’S IN, LET THE FUN BEGIN! It is the end of another

school year. We wish the principals, teachers, staff, parents and children of

St. Fidelis Catholic School and St. Francis Xavier Catholic School a wonderful summer vacation

As the month of June comes to an end and summer is upon us;

we would like to remind everyone, that while your vacations are

well deserved and create lasting memories, we should not forget to honour

Sundays. P lease take some time to visit a church near you, and spend time with the Lord.

ST. FIDELIS SUMMER CAMP

We welcome, this week, the staff and children of the camp which will be running

throughout the summer. We wish you all a safe summer!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY CANADA!

Canada has a birthday of July 1st. Canada Day is a

national holiday that is celebrated with family picnics, barbeques and

fireworks. Many people wear red and white in honour of Canada’s national colours. Please remember to stay safe and healthy. At the

same time let us pray for our beautiful country!
