Xavier University off ers a Baccalaureate of Science in Nursing (BSN). Xavier University is located in Oranjestad, the capital of Aruba and off ers students a culturally diverse, inter-professional journey in nursing. Xavier University uses a U.S. nursing curriculum guided by the Essenti als of Professional Baccalaureate Nursing (2008) created by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Educati on (CCNE). The BSN program compliments the existi ng medical school at Xavier and provides collaborati ve opportuniti es with the medical school in theoreti cal and practi cal experience. With superior train-ing and support from Xavier and its faculty, students are equipped with the knowledge, skills and experience to prepare them for the Nati onal Council’s NCLEX (RN) exam using the Commission for Graduates of Foreign Nursing Schools.

The mission of Xavier University School of Nursing (XUSON) at Aruba is to prepare baccalaure-ate-educated registered nurses (RN) who practi ce compassionately and deliver safe nursing care of the highest standard to individuals, families, and communiti es.

The campus encompasses a vibrant multi cultural atmosphere. A new inter-professional cen-ter of learning is planned for the campus in 2016. To apply to Xavier University, the applicant must:1. Submit the following to the Admissions Offi ce:

a. The completed applicati on;b. An offi cial high school transcript*, or an offi cial score report from the test of General Educati on Development (GED); or prior academic credit transcripts.

2. Provide offi cial results of the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) of 80 or higher on the internet based exam, or 550 or higher on the paper based exam if requested by promoti ons committ ee faculty or partner school.

3. Provide a photocopy or facsimile of the identi fi cati on page and expirati on of the student’s passport.4. Upon acceptance into the university, the applicant completes the Nati onal League for Nursing Pre-Admission

Exam (PAX) during the fi rst semester.

Criteria for automati c admission into the university include a cumulati ve grade point average of 3.0 or higher and a minimum composite score of 20 on the ACT or 950 on the SAT (combined criti cal reading and mathemati cs sub-scores).

*Offi cial transcripts are those sent directly to Xavier University from the issuing insti tuti on. Any transcript marked “issued to student” or any transcript that is hand delivered by the student is not considered an offi cial transcript. If necessary, high school transcripts evaluati ons can be performed by Educati onal Credenti al Evaluators or World Educati on Services.
