Language Assistants Programme
•Worldwide network of bi-lateral programmes
•2,500 Language Assistants from the UK support the teaching of English in 14 countries around the world, and 2000 Modern Language Assistants teach their native language in the UK
•Aim: improve both the language ability of the assistants and their students as well as support opportunities to expand cultural awareness and understanding

English Language Assistants
• Help to teach English
• Work with class teacher or in small groups
• Develop students’ confidence and competence in English
• Not class teacher (in most countries) so introduce UK contemporary culture in the classroom
• Discuss sport, music, fashion, politics etc.

• Aimed at graduates only• No language requirement
• 1st Sept – 30th June (approx.)• 20 hours per week
• Two weeks training provided• Paid salary equivalent to local
teacher’s• Free accommodation• Return flight paid for upon
