The product range comprises testsystems of all test chamber volumesfor temperature and climatic testing, simulation of exposure to weather, temperature shock, corrosion andlong-time testing – in research, development, quality control andproduction.

Walk-in systems and in-line plantsare designed, produced and instal-led in accordance with customerspecifications.

An excellent after-sales service en-sures optimum support for our cu-stomers and a high degree of opera-tional safety of our systems.

Characteristics, function and servicelife of systems or components areinfluenced by varying thermal andclimatic conditions during trans-port, storage and use.

For this reason, tests have to be carried out in order to safeguard andoptimise the quality of the product.

The temperature and climate testchambers produced by Weiss Um -welt technik set standards with re-gard to ease of operation, perfor-mance and equipment.

Weiss Umwelttechnik GmbH is oneof the leading manufacturers of testdevices and systems for environ-mental simulation worldwide.

Reliable test results by means of reproducible environmental conditions

Patented temperature condi -tioning and climate technology

An airstream that is temperatureconditioned and/or air conditionedprecisely continuously flows throughthe test space of the unit and ensu-res an optimum spatial distributionof air and temperature. Generously dimensioned axial fanswith an external drive motor drawthe air out of the test chambers intemperature and air-conditionedpro cess. The circulating air thenflows through a fin-type heat ex -changer in which it is cooled if required. For heating of the circula-ting air an electrical heater is in -stalled behind the heat exchanger.

Reliable conditions

Due to special circuits any undesi-red formation of condensate is pre-vented to ensure the best possibleconstancies in terms of temperatureand humidity. To ensure a high relative humidityeven with a heat load the air passesover a water bath. Integrated heatelements ensure quick and preciseheating of the water. For exact control of humidity in thetest space the humidity is measuredpsychrometrically. Here, the humidity sensor is wettedautomatically and cleaned in theprocess.Due to this technology the servicelife of the test chamber considerablyincreases.

The sully developed 32-bit controland monitoring system of S!Mpac*

ensures controlling of temperatureand humidity.

The units are compatible with theS!MpaTI* software package and canbe integrated into their networkingenvironment (data logging operationin S!MpaTI*).

Perfectly manufactured

The external housing is made ofcorrosion-resistant, galvanised steelsheet and solvent-free powder coa-ted. The stainless steel test space iswelded vapour-tight. Its environmen-tally friendly insulation gua ran teesthe best possible insulation valuesand, hence, the lowest possible ope-rating costs.

Even in the standard version of theequipment all sizes are equippedwith two standard stainless steelports (approx. Ø 50 and 125 mm). They can be used for inserting mea-surement and control cables, othersupply connections or additionalequipment.

Safe design

The test chambers are equipped withan adjustable safety cut-out againsthigh and low temperatures (testspecimen protection with separatesensor) according to EN 60159-2(1993). Any safety alarm is issuedvisually as well as acoustically.

The door latch ensures an optimumclosing pressure while ensuringprotection against excess pressureat the same time. The large obser-vation window which is availableas an option allows an optimumview of the test space and it isequipped with multiple glazing andheated in order to prevent the for-mation of condensate.

A potential-free contact is availableon the test chamber. Every electricalfunctional circuit is equipped withits own safety facility which shutsdown the functional circuit affectedor the entire test chamber in case ofa malfunction. The electrical systemcomplies with the approved stateof the art in the field, the safety regulation “Electrical Systems andFacilities” (BGV A3) as well as withthe relevant VDE regulations. Alltest chambers fulfil the EMC, low-voltage and machinery directive. The hermetic refrigeration circuitsoperate with environmentally frien d-ly refrigerants (CFC-free).

Design features ...

Ready for use

A quality inspection of every testunit is effected before delivery. Theyare designed ready for plug-in andare directly ready for use. There isno need for an assembly on site.

Comfortable operation

The units WT3 and WK3 are equippedwith an 8’’ TFT-colour touch screendisplay. In addition, an easily readableCONTROLPAD* is integrated into thedoor, started and stopped throughtest cycles, and actual values for tem-perature and humidity can be easilyread. Simple, menue-guided user in-terfaces are the convenient interfacewith the operator. There is no needfor programming knowledge.

With the integrated process visu -alisation, the device function is ex-plained in a way that is easy to un-derstand.

Numerous ways of networking

Control is governed by the 32-bit-I/O system with integrated soft-PLC.A webserver can place test and diagnostic information into the in-tranet via Ethernet, if desired. The devices can be reached andoperated from almost any place inthe world. All it takes is networkaccess to the device's webserver inthe intranet or in the internet, if activated accordingly.Standard interfaces are Ethernet100 /10 megabit and USB for exter-nal storage of measurement dataon a USB stick. Four potential-freeoutputs and four inputs (24 V-DC)are available for test specimen con-trol.

Fully developed software

With the optionally available S!MpaTI*

software, you have the optimal sy-stem for operation and control ofthe test system. The software notonly permits evaluation and docu-mentation of the test sequences, but also allows problem-free inte-gration of the system into a PC net-work. Archiving of the data and parameters is always ensured withthe S!MpaTI* software.

Alternatively equipped with12’’ or 3.5’’ TFT-colour touchscreen display

As an alternative, the test chambercan be equipped with a 12’’ TFT-co -lour touch screen display. The 12’’display contains an industrial PC including the Windows softwarepackage S!MCONTROL*, which ma-kes the test chamber into a purecommunication marvel. Simulationprograms and test results are stored on the integrated hard diskand can be easily exchanged viaUSB interface. All test information can be called upby touch. Tests can be programmedwithout complication using a gra-phic editor.

In an additional option, the devicecan be equipped with a 3.5’’ TFT-colour touch screen display (320 x240 px). The display is integratedin the door in place of the CON-TROLPAD* and is delivered with theS!MpaTI* program tool for simplecontrol of the test chamber. The3.5’’ display thus ensures optimaloperation of the system at a favou-rable price.

Walk-in temperature and climate test chambers of modular construction, series M.C.S.The walk-in temperature and climatechambers of the WT/WK series werespecially developed for large testobjects.

The test chamber is available in 5standardized sizes (8, 12, 17, 22,27 m3). The machine unit comprisesa fan, refrigeration unit, humidifi ca-tion and heating equipment, switchcabinet and system control.

It is completely pre-assembled andtested at the Weiss factory andconnec ted to the installed cel on site.

Thus, the installation time on site isreduced considerably.

Depending on the customers require -ments, we can configure the completesystem. For configuration purposes,we simply require the following data:

Desired mode of operation (temperature or climate tests)Desired cooling or heating rateDesired test chamber size

Special ranges and sizes are possi-ble on request. Please contact us.
