L’inizio di stagione, alla Champions Cup, ha lasciato un carico di entusiasmo eccezionale. Tantissimi piloti presenti, le nuove motorizzazioni al debutt o sul palcoscenico internazionale, “vecchi” campioni sempre pronti a nuove sfi de, giovani piloti ansiosi di crescere e stupire. Davvero non è mancato nullae tutt o lascia supporre che anche il tanto att eso inizio della WSK Master Series proseguirà sulla stessa lunghezza d’onda. Con, in più, l’esordio stagionale della classe regina del kart a marce, la KZ, che si affi ancherà a KZ2, OK, OK-Junior e 60 Mini. Le iscrizioni sono arrivate numerose, la pista di Castellett o è “vestita a festa” e tutt a l’organizzazione della WSK Promotion è pronta, come sempre, a fornire a piloti, team e accompagnatori il massimo dell’assistenza, del supporto e dello spett acolo. Th e start of the season, with the Champions Cup, left a mountain of enthusiasm. Th ere were many drivers at the event, with the new engines debuting on the international stage, “old” champions always ready for new challenges, young drivers eager to improve and impress. Everything was there, and everything suggests that the long-awaited start of the WSK Master Series will continue in the same way. With, in addition, the season’s debut of the gear karts’ class of excellence, the KZ class, which will be joined by the KZ2, OK, OK-Junior and 60 Mini classes. Loads of drivers have joined the competition, and the Castellett o track is “dressed up” and the whole organisation of the WSK Promotion is ready, as always, to provide the drivers, teams and support personnel with as much assistance, support and entertainment as possible. So we wish everyone... a good Super Master Series!

Now in its seventh edition, the Master Series (“Super” from 2014) is the longest running and the most articulate WSK competition. 4 events scheduled on the calendar (like last year), but with an extra class that is called on to race: the KZ. It achieved racing for fi ve diff erent classes only as recently as 2012 but, at that time, only three rounds were held. Th us, looking at the fi gures, 2016 seems to be the most ambitious Super Series Masters ever. Rightly so, for a competition that, over the years, has celebrated the victories of pilots like Max Verstappen, the fi rst in 2012 (in the KF2) and 2013 (in the KZ2), who is now one of the brightest stars of Formula 1. Th e struggle to get your name included in the prestigious Hall of Fame is open!

Giunta alla sett ima edizione, la Master Series (“Super” dal 2014) è la competizione WSK più longeva e più articolata. 4 le prove in calendario (come l’anno scorso), ma con una categoria in più chiamata a scendere in pista: la KZ. Solo nel 2012 si era arrivati a far correre 5 classi diverse, ma, allora, si disputarono solo 3 round. Numeri alla mano, dunque, quella del 2016 si presenta come la Super Master Series più ambiziosa di sempre. Giusto così, per una competizione che, negli anni, ha celebrato le vitt orie di piloti come Max Verstappen, primo nel 2012 (in KF2) e nel 2013 (in KZ2) e oggi tra gli astri più fulgidi della Formula 1. The “home” of the WSK. A beautiful track equipped with top services, with many directional changes that enhance the driving skills of the pilots of all classes.

La “casa” della WSK. Pista bellissima e dotata di servizi al top, ha molti cambi di direzione che esaltano le doti di guida dei piloti di tutte le categorie.

As well as the “certainties” of the Super Master Series 2016, the WSK season has a novelty: the KRS Open Series. Once again it entails a series of events; three, to be precise, open to 4 classes: KZ2, OK, OK-Junior, 60 Mini. The peculiarity is that pilots with international A licenses are excluded from participating. This decision, as well as having established locations not too far from each other, aims to offer an absolute top level of competition for the karting movement which is, however, accessible to all pilots. An injection of energy and confidence for the whole movement.

Accanto alle “certezze” della Super Master Series, il 2016 firmato WSK presenta un’assoluta novità: la KRS Open Series. Si tratta anche in questo caso di una serie su più prove, tre, per la precisione, aperta a 4 categorie: KZ2, OK, OK-Junior, 60 Mini. La particolarità è che sono esclusi dalla partecipazione i piloti in possesso di licenza internazionale A. Questa decisione, insieme all’aver stabilito delle location non eccessivamente distanti tra loro, punta a offrire al movimento del karting una competizione di assoluto livello, ma accessibile a tutti i piloti. Un’iniezione di energia e fiducia per tutto il movimento.

Th e 2015 of Paolo De Conto, his fi rst year with CRG, was good but not very good, without a peak that would have made it perfect (see his second place at the KZ World Cup). In the fi rst race of the new year, the Italian driver more than made up for it, experiencing a winning weekend. He started the race by fi rstly chasing aft er Lorenzo Camplese, the driver with the best qualifying time, and then, Marco Ardigò, in fi rst place aft er the laps, in the pre-fi nal and fi nal until two laps from the end. De Conto put his foot down in the fi nal lap, overtaking Rick Dreezen, who had previously reached fi st place, and starting the season in the best possible way .

Il 2015 di Paolo De Conto, primo anno con la tuta CRG, era stato buono, ma non buonissimo, privo di quell’acuto che lo avrebbe reso perfett o (vedesi il secondo posto al Mondiale KZ). Al primo appuntamento del nuovo anno, il pilota italiano si è rifatt o con gli interessi, vivendo un weekend da protagonista. Partito inseguendo, prima, Lorenzo Camplese, autore del miglior tempo in qualifi ca, e, poi, Marco Ardigò, primo dopo le manche, in prefi nale e in fi nale fi no a due giri dal termine, De Conto ha piazzato la zampata del ko all’ultima tornata, sorpassando Rick Dreezen, precedentemente passato al comando, e iniziando la stagione come meglio non avrebbe potuto.

New engines, but a winner ... who is old! Yes, because in the most highly anticipated debut race with the new OK engines (a success!) saw the American driver from Ricky Flynn Motorsport triumph, previously the winner of the 2015 WSK Champions Cup in the KFJ class, as well as KFJ world champion. A peremptory victory, achieved with a gap of more than 3 seconds in the fi nal and topped by the fastest lap and the best qualifying performance. Only in the heats and pre-fi nal did Sargeant have to “sett le” for second place, preceded by Travisanutt o in the former, and Karol Basz in the latt er.

Motori nuovi, vincitore... vecchio! Già, perché nella gara del tanto att eso debutt o delle nuove motorizzazioni OK (promosse!), a trionfare è stato il pilota americano del Ricky Flynn Motorsport, già vincitore della WSK Champions Cup 2015 nella categoria KFJ, nonché campione del mondo in carica sempre della KFJ. Una vitt oria perentoria, arrivata con un distacco superiore ai 3 secondi in fi nale e condita dal giro veloce e dalla migliore prestazione anche in qualifi ca. Solo nelle manche e nella sua prefi nale Sargeant si è dovuto “accontentare” del secondo posto, preceduto da Travisanutt o, nel primo caso, e da Karol Basz, nel secondo. OK | (FA KART/VORTEX)

MICHAEL PAPAROOne of the youngsters in the Mini 60 class, the Italian Michael Paparo, who did well to stay in the top positions throughout the weekend, raced to victory. As always, this class turned out to be fi ercely competitive, with fi ve diff erent riders capable of winning at least one heat. In particular, the Formula K standard-bearer had to fi ght with the fast Czech Dan Skocdopole, the pole position driver, winner of 3 heats and his pre-fi nal. However, Paparo also won his pre-fi nal, he was in pole position in the fi nal, and in the lead for all of the 10 laps, topping it all off with the fastest lap in the fi nal and in the weekend.

Tra i giovani della 60 Mini, ha portato a casa la vitt oria l’italiano Michael Paparo, bravo a rimanere nelle primissime posizioni durante tutt o il weekend. La categoria si è rivelata, come sempre, molto agguerrita, con 5 piloti diversi capaci di vincere almeno una manche. In particolare, il portacolori di Formula K ha dovuto lott are con il veloce ceco Dan Skocdopole, autore della pole position, vincitore di 3 manche e della sua prefi nale. Paparo, però, ha a sua volta vinto la propria prefi nale, è partito in pole pisition in fi nale ed è rimasto in testa alla gara per tutt i i 10 giri, condendo il tutt o con il giro più veloce sia della fi nale, sia del weekend.

KIERN JEWISSTh ere was also room for “debutants” in the 2016 WSK Champions Cup. In fact, in the OK-Junior class, the winner was a British driver at his debut not only in this class, but also on the international stage. His name is Kiern Jewiss, who has, however, already won numerous titles in England. Th e thirteen year old English boy was the star of an exciting fi nal: starting in tenth place, he recovered very well on a wet track, fi nally overtaking on the last lap and closing the lead with just over three-tenths more than Timothy Peisselon. Th is victory also gave Daniel Ricciardo’s Factory Team their fi rst, and highly prestigious, victory.

C’è stato spazio anche per le “prime volte” nella WSK Champions Cup 2016. Nella OK-Junior, infatt i, a vincere è stato un pilota inglese al debutt o non solo nella categoria, ma anche sul palcoscenico internazionale. Il suo nome è Kiern Jewiss, nel cui palmares comunque già fi gurano molti titoli vinti in Inghilterra. Il tredicenne inglese è stato autore di una fi nale emozionante: partito decimo, ha rimontato benissimo sulla pista bagnata, compiendo il sorpasso decisivo all’ultimo giro e chiudendo in testa per poco più di tre decimi su Timothy Peisselon. Il trionfo ha anche regalato al Factory Team di Daniel Ricciardo la prima, prestigiosissima, vitt oria.

The bad weather that marked part of the WSK Champions Cup weekend certainly did not undermine the show. Because on the good track in Adria, once again, the talent and desire to win certainly shone; in a weekend to be experienced again with some of the most beautiful photos.

Il maltempo che ha segnato parte del weekend della WSK Champions Cup non ha certo minato lo spettacolo. Perché sul bel tracciato di Adria, ancora una volta, ha sicuramente brillato il sole del talento e della voglia di vincere; in un weekend da rivivere attraverso alcune delle foto più belle.

In addition to the winner, rewarded by the cup and fl ashing cameras, there were many drivers who shone during the WSK weekend, thanks to a racing format that gives everyone a chance to get onto the circuit numerous times. Here we see all the drivers who, during the WSK Champions Cup, managed to achieve at least one fast lap in a race or qualifi ers and won at least one victory in either the fi nal, pre-fi nal or rounds.

A GOOD STARTAs is known, the WSK Champions Cup was the first race for the new OK and OK-Junior engines, which were designed to revive the single speed karting classes following a simplification and performance strategy. Without doubt, the first response was very positive. The success of the new engines began to take shape

Come noto, la WSK Champions Cup è stata la prima gara per le nuove motorizzazioni OK e OK-Junior, volute per rilanciare le classi del karting monomarcia seguendo la strada della semplificazione e delle prestazioni. Senza dubbio, la prima risposta è stata più che positiva.Il successo dei nuovi propulsori ha iniziato a delinearsi

fin dalle iscrizioni: al via si sono presentati 67 piloti in OK-Junior e 38 in OK, per un totale di 105 partecipanti, ovvero il 42% in più rispetto all ’entry list di KF e KFJ della Champions Cup dell ’anno scorso.Sul versante sicurezza le cose sono andate magnificamente, senza alcun intoppo durante l’ intero weekend, nonostante il maltempo che ne ha segnato parte. in such different periods of the year, in comparison with the best lap in the KF class during the WSK Cup Final race at Adria on 1 November 2015 and the best in the OK class during the WSK Champions Cup (always at Adria, of course), the improvement in lap times was more than 4/10. In practice, the OK class raced just below the times set by the 2015 KZ2 Final Cup.

The WSK Champions Cup was also a success as far as the communication and distribution side is concerned. The final day of the competitions, broadcast in live streaming on the popular livestream.com platform, achieved about 40,000 views (with over 22,500 single users).

The gasoline (KART RON102) will be given on the track with 25 lt containers by PANTA SPA in compliance with the CIK-FIA Technical Regulations (Art. 21).DIGATRON DT 15 devices are used to control that the gasoline complies with these regulations, comparingit with a sample taken from the fuel distributor (PANTA SPA).
