As the American Revolution saw its first shots fired between the

Americans and the British at Lexington, it is unclear which side

actually fired the shot. The emotions of the times seem to indicate that a conflict and the

possibility of war was inevitable. The question of who fired the first

shot is unclear based on the propaganda, eyewitness accounts

and the biases on both sides. There is no doubt that this shot

heard around the world led to the eventual downfall of British rule and the creation of the United

States.
