My plan

Paul Scully

to secure a better future for Worcester Park

My plan to secure a better future for Worcester Park

Since being chosen to stand for election as the next MP for Worcester Park, I’ve been working hard to tackle the problems we face and to make our area an even better place to work, live and raise a family.

There's been a lot of progress, but I know there’s so much more that needs to be done to deal with the challenges our community faces and secure a better future for Worcester Park.

So I've been working to deliver my 6 point plan for Worcester Park;

Protect and enhance valued local health services Both of my children were born at St Helier Hospital and as a regular volunteer there I've seen their outstanding work first-hand. For a more efficient and effective NHS, we need less money wasted on bureaucracy.

Secure enough school places for all local children Demand for school places is highest in the north of the borough. I am campaigning to build a new school on the derelict football pitch next to Sutton Sports Village on Rosehill.

Practical solutions to high street parking problems We need a healthy local economy to create more jobs for local people. I am proposing practical solutions to the problems caused by parking restrictions on our high streets.

A better quality of life for hardworking commuters To give commuters a better quality of life, I am campaigning for Crossrail 2 to stop as Worcester Park and not pass through as currently planned. Sign my petition at www.scully.org.uk/petitions

A real assessment of Central Road traffic issues My mission is to secure a better deal for Worcester Park from Conservative London Mayor Boris Johnson and his colleagues at City Hall, in order to resolve the traffic issues which have blighted Central Road for too long.

Victoria House to contribute to our community Victoria House has stood empty for 8 years - that is absurd. If elected I pledge to deliver a plan of action which will push through a new development on the site, contributing to our community in a positive way.

To help me deliver this plan for Worcester Park, I’d like to know what you think. Please use the survey enclosed to let me know which of the things in my plan are most important to you and your family. Your views really will help me secure a better future for Worcester Park.

Yours sincerely

Paul Scully

Protect and enhance valued local health services Both of my children were born at St Helier Hospital and as a regular volunteer there I've seen their outstanding work first-hand. For a more efficient and effective NHS, we need new investment and a commons sense approach to reducing the money wasted on bureaucracy and quangos.

Secure enough school places for all local children Demand for school places is highest in the north of the borough. I am campaigning to build a new school on the derelict football pitch next to Sutton Sports Village on Rosehill. As a school governor, I understand the importance of securing opportunities for the next generation.

Practical solutions to high street parking problems We need a healthy local economy to create more jobs for local people. I am proposing practical solutions to the problems caused by parking restrictions on our high streets. For example, allowing motorists to park in empty loading bays on London Road at certain times of the day.

A better quality of life for hardworking commuters To give commuters' a better quality of life, I am campaigning for Crossrail 2 to stop at Worcester Park and not pass through as currently planned. A former central London commuter myself, I know the benefits of improved transport links.

We need a genuine assessment followed by real solutions.

Victoria House to contribute to our community Victoria House has stood empty for 8 years - that is absurd. I am committed to delivering a plan of action which will push through a new development on the site, contributing to our community in a positive way. As a former Councillor in Sutton, I understand the planning process.
