Wow! What a busy year we have had. Time really does fly when you’re having fun! I would like to take this opportunity to

acknowledge the commitment and dedication the children in K/1D have consistently shown this year. They have all worked extremely hard and this has been demonstrated through their excellent growth in literacy and numeracy. They should all feel very pleased by their personal success. Of course, this success

could not have been possible without the dedication of parents and carers at home. Thank you for making this possible.

As the year draws to a close, I would strongly urge all parents to enrol in the Holiday Reading Program. Often during the holiday months, children tend to read less and upon returning to school struggle to read at the level they finished on the previous year.

Please take the time to read with your child as much as possible. Reading does not have to be restricted to just books; it could include reading street signs, brochures, advertisements, newspapers or shop names etc. Counting games, Uno, addition snap and memory are also good ways to maintain number skills.

have thoroughly enjoyed teaching each and every child in K/1D. I would like to wish everyone a safe and festive holiday season
