This campaign, across many Redbridge Schools, is to encourage children to ‘Be Bright and Be Seen’ when they are out and about, in order to prevent road accidents, especially during the winter months. The pupils are asked to come to school wearing something really bright or light e.g. a colourful top, fluorescent socks, glowing hairbands or reflective trainers. The expectation is that the pupils do not need to wear their school uniform, if they are supporting this campaign. Look for the posters on your child’s classroom window or around the school and information is on the school website. World Space Week

Following on from our ‘alien space landing’ last week, Our Lady of Lourdes celebrated a successful 'World Space Week' and the children have produced some fantastic work, some of which can be seen in our hall. The children had the opportunity to work in a cross curricular way and study one of the solar system's planets in more detail.

Kenneth More Theatre Pantomime Roadshow

Last Friday Years 2 to 6 were treated to a Pantomime Roadshow afternoon with actors from the Kenneth More Theatre. In addition to this, the pupils learnt about the unique role pantomimes play in Britain. Did you know there are 5 British pantomimes? We were told from the actors, who have been travelling around different schools, that we were the only school that could name all of the five, can you?

Have a great weekend,

Staff at Our Lady of Lourdes
