WelcomeWe are very glad to have you worshiping our gracious God with us today.

Flowers The sanctuary flowers are given today to the glory of God in loving memory

of Deacon and Mrs. Harry W. Thomas by Mr. and Mrs. James O. Brady.

To Our Guests,We especially welcome you today! More information about our church is available on our website at firstpresaugusta.org.

Spiritual CareIf you would like to speak to someone about what it means to know Jesus Christ or you have any spiritual need or question, please use one of the prayer cards in the pew rack to contact one of our pastors. Our church elders are also available to speak with you. An elder will be standing next to the pastor following the service.

Children’s Check-inWe are committed to the highest level of protection possible for the children placed in our care on Sundays and at all church events. For this reason, we require parents of newborns through fifth grade children to check in their children before they go to the nursery, Sunday School, Catechism, Children’s Church or any other children’s activity. Several kiosks are available in the Welcome Center. The process is quick and easy, and volunteers are available if you need assistance checking in.

Children’s WorshipWe offer a specially designed program for children in pre-k through fourth grade during the morning services. A leader will escort children from the sanctuary to their classrooms during the hymn of preparation. Parents are welcome to accompany them to observe where to pick them up after the service. Parents of children in pre-k through second grade are asked to pick up their children following Sunday School or the 11 a.m. worship service.

Nursery Nurseries are provided for infants and toddlers during the worship services and Sunday School. We also provide a Mother/Infant Room located beside Nursery 1 which is equipped with live video feed of the worship services. Ushers are available to direct you.

Additional Seating Additional seating for morning and evening worship services is available each week in St. Andrew’s Hall.

As stewards of God’s resources, we try not to print an excess of bulletins. We invite you to bring this bulletin with you when you return for the evening service.

†The Call to Worship ..............................................from Zechariah 9 and Matthew 21

Rejoice greatly, O daughter of Zion! Shout aloud, O daughter of Jerusalem! Behold, your king is coming to you; righteous and having salvation is he, humble and mounted on a donkey, on a colt, the foal of a donkey.

“Hosanna to the Son of David!” “Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord!” “Hosanna in the highest!”

The Lord be with you.And with your spirit.Let us worship God!

Lo, he comes! Sing we “Hosanna!” Lo, he comes, let us sing to the Lord!

Enter his gates with shouts of thanksgiving, Into his courts with songs of praise. Come, let us march in glad procession. Loud Hosannas now we raise.

Open your heart and welcome the Savior. Join with the song that has no end. This is the day for which we have waited; The coming of our Lord is surely at hand.

The Personal Confession of Sin (Please kneel if able to do so)

The Corporate Confession of Sin

Most Gracious Lord, we proclaim you to be our King, but our duplicity is exposed by your question, “Why do you call me ‘Lord, Lord,’ and not do what I tell you?” Forgive us for disobeying the word of the Lord and failing to keep your commandments. Have mercy on us…for worshiping the gods of our culture and clinging to our worthless idols, for misusing and not defending your name, for neglecting your holy day and for carelessness in worship, for not honoring our parents or those in authority over us,for murderous hearts and actions and for failing to protect innocent life, for adulterous thoughts, lustful glances, and impure actions, for taking what is not rightfully ours, for cheating, and for dishonest gain, for failing to speak the truth and for deceitful words, for wanting more than you have given us and for coveting what belongs to others.Cleanse us from our sin and cause us to submit to your kingly rule in our lives. We pray these things through Jesus Christ, who ever lives to make intercession for us. Amen.

†The Pastoral Prayer and The Lord’s PrayerOur Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory forever. Amen.

†Doxology ....................................................................................Before the Throne

The Assurance of Pardoning Grace ................................................ from Zephaniah 3Sing, O Daughter of Zion, shout aloud, O Israel! Be glad and rejoice with all your heart, O Daughter of Jerusalem! The Lord has taken away your punishment, he has turned back your enemy. The Lord your God is with you and he rejoices over you with singing.

The Offertory—A Carol for Easter ....................................................... Cradle Song

Words: Kilby Austin | Music: William James Kirkpatrick | arr. Susan Powell | ©2011 Choristers Guild

Away in a manger, where cows ate their hay, The Lord God of heaven was laid one dayBy Mary, his mother, whose heart sang of love, While “glory” and “peace” sang the angels above.

Away on a hilltop, a place called “the skull,” The Lord God of heaven was hung on a pole By all of his people and all of their sin, And all of their punishment fell upon him.

Away in a tomb that a rich man had loaned, The Lord God of heaven was laid behind stone By some of his sad friends who’d watched as he died And wondered how God’s Son could be crucified.

Away rolled the tombstone and sin, death, and hell: The Lord God of heaven has done all things well, And now he has risen, and us with him raised That we may forever sing songs in his praise.
