There are times that when we wake up in the morning, it would seem that our world is spinning at great speed, and we are confronted with troubles here, and troubles there; problems in our families, and problems in our workplace; and heavy stress here, and miseries there. While we are immersed in this unsettling drama of life, Jesus comes to us with these liberating words:

“COME TO ME, ALL YOU WHO LABOR AND ARE BURDENED,

AND I WILL GIVE YOU REST.”

Those are restorative and energizing WORDS that offer us the reason to live life to its fullest. They are SACRED WORDS emanating from the mouth and heart of a loving Lord. As we deepen our relationship with God and others, “words are important. Without them our actions lose meaning. And without meaning we cannot live. Words can offer perspective, insight, understanding, and vision. Words can bring consolation, comfort, encouragement and hope. Words can take away fear, isolation, shame, and guilt. Words can reconcile, unite, forgive, and heal. Words can bring peace and joy, inner freedom and deep gratitude. Words, in short, can carry love on their wings. A word of love can be the greatest act of love. That is because when our words become flesh in our lives and the lives of others, we can CHANGE THE WORLD. This week, what words of hope and consolation you will say to your family, friends, and neighbors? Please, let us try to become the LOVING and COMPASSIONATE CHRIST through our WORDS this week.

Penitential Act I confess to almighty God and to you my brothers and sisters, that I have greatly sinned, in my thoughts and in my words, in what I have done and in what I have failed to do, (strike breast) through my fault, through my fault, through my most grievous fault; therefore I ask blessed Mary ever-Virgin, all the Angels and Saints, and you my brothers and sisters, to pray for me to the Lord our God Glory to God - Mass of Christ the Savior Glory to God in the highest you take away the sins of the world, and on earth peace to people of good will. receive our prayer; we praise you, you are seated at the right hand of the Father, we bless you, have mercy on us. we adore you, For you alone are the Holy One, we glorify you, you alone are the Lord, we give you thanks for your great glory, you alone are the Most High, Lord God, heavenly King, Jesus Christ, O God, almighty Father with the Holy Spirit, Lord God, Lamb of God, Son of the Father, in the glory of God the Father. Amen. you take away the sins of the world, have mercy on us;

THE LITURGY of the WORD First Reading - Zechariah 9:9-10 Thus says the Lord: from Ephriam, Rejoice heartily, O daughter Zion, and from the horse from Jerusalem; shout for joy, O daughter Jerusalem! and the warrior’s bow she be banished See, your king shall come to you; and he shall proclaim peace a just savior is he, to the nations. meek, and riding on an ass, His dominion shall be from sea to sea, on a colt, the foal of an ass. and from the River to the ends He shall banish the chariot of the earth. Second Reading - Romans 8:9,11-13 Brothers and sisters: You are not in the flesh; on the contrary, you are in the spirit, if only the Spirit of God dwells in you. Whoever does not have the Spirit of Christ does not belong to him. If the Spirit of the one who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, the one who raised Christ from the dead will give life to your mortal bodies also, through his Spirit that dwells in you. Consequently, brothers and sisters, we are not debtors to the flesh, to live according to the flesh. For if you live according to the flesh, you will die, but if by the Spirit you put to death the deeds of the body, you will live.

Please stand Gospel Alleluia Blessed are you, Father, Lord of heaven and earth; you have revealed to little ones the mysteries of the kingdom. Gospel - Matthew 11:25-30 At that time Jesus exclaimed: “I give praise to you, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, for although you have hidden these things from the wise and the learned you have revealed them to little ones. Yes, Father, such has been your gracious will. All things have been handed over to me by my Father. No one knows the Son except the Father, and no one knows the Father except the Son and anyone to whom the Son wishes to reveal him. “Come to me, all you who labor and are burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am meek and humble of heart; and you will find rest for yourselves. For my yoke is easy, and my burden light.” Homily Notes _____________________________________________________________ _____________________________________________________________ _____________________________________________________________ _____________________________________________________________

Please stand Nicene Creed I believe in one God, the Father almighty, maker of heaven and earth, of all things visible and invisible. I believe in one Lord Jesus Christ, the Only Begotten Son of God, born of the Father before all ages. God from God, Light from Light, true God from true God, begotten not made, consubstantial with the Father; through him all things were made. For us men and our salvation he came down from heaven, and by the Holy Spirit was incarnate of the Virgin Mary and became man. For our sake he was crucified under Pontius Pilate, he suffered death and was buried, and rose again on the third day in accordance with the Scriptures. He ascended into heaven and is seated at the right hand of the Father. He will come again in glory to judge the living and the dead and his kingdom will have no end. I believe in the Holy Spirit, the Lord, the giver of life, who proceeds from the Father and the Son, who with the Father and the Son is adored and glorified, who has spoken through the prophets. I believe in one, holy, catholic and apostolic Church. I confess one baptism for the forgiveness of sins, and I look forward to the resurrection of the dead and the life of the world to come. Amen.
