Need some help? We have volunteers all around the venue on hand to help, whether you need general information or in case of an emergency.
There are information desks by the main entrances and in the main halls as well as event maps and event information screens located across the venue.
You can also contact our Operational Support Centre on +44 (0)845 475 2011 at any time of the day.
EmergenciesIn the event of an emergency within the venue, please follow the direction of Gainsborough stewards who will be wearing navy blue and black tabards or volunteers dressing in yellow t-shirts.
Lost and foundAny lost children or property can be taken to Security Control located in Organiser’s Offi ce S8 Lower or please approach a member of the Gainsborough team who will be able to assist you.
CloakroomsThe main cloakroom is located centrally in the boulevard on Level 0 next to the car park. An additional cloakroom is located on the boulevard level 0 close to the East entrance.
Cash pointsThere are two HSBC machines located at the West end of the boulevard, Barclays and HSBC machines situated in the boulevard at Level 0 and one at the East end of the boulevard by N6/S6. All machines accept all bank cards.

Each country/region has its own team selection process.
Team UK Team UK members were selected for WorldSkills London 2011 when 86 of the UK’s best students, apprentices and employees battled it out during four days of Competition in June this year.
Most of the Competitors were asked to compete for a place after excelling at WorldSkills UK, which consists of a whole range of skills Competition activities, managed by the National Apprenticeship Service in partnership with organisations from industry and education.

You’ll be amazed by the sheer scale of the Competition and talent of the Competitors. And in turn, we really hope you will feel inspired about your future career options.
WorldSkills London 2011 is split between the North and South Halls of the venue. The seven skills sectors are colour coded so you can easily recognise them. Within these sectors there are 46 skill competitions taking place over the four days.

You will be able to Have a Go at many of the skills featured in the WorldSkills London 2011 Competition. There are six Have a Go areas located on your map.
A Have a Go is a bite-size taster of a skill. We want you to try your hand at these interactive activities and get a real feel for the skills involved.
There are hundreds of opportunities for you to get stuck in and Have a Go. These will help you understand, learn and find out more about the skills on show.
We’ve featured a few highlights on the next page, and you can find a full list on page 22.

Get the help you need. We hope WorldSkills London 2011 inspires you to find out more about learning new skills and even making a career out of these skills.
There are advisers on hand throughout the venue to give you the help you need. You’ll find them in the ‘yellow zones’ and they will be wearing black t-shirts with I AM... IN THE KNOW.
Sponsors in and around the competitions can also offer specialist help on how to get into your dream career or job.
You can also learn about the 46 competition skills by talking to the Experts from around the world. Look out for the information points that explain what’s happening in each of the skill areas and the many and varied projects being completed by the Competitors.

More than 200 companies, countries/regions and organisations are taking part to help you find out about your dream career. Just stop by and have a chat with these top employers, colleges and advisers. They are looking forward to meeting you and telling you all about the many and varied employment, careers, training and job opportunities.
A more detailed plan of the Make it Happen exhibition is on the map at the back of this guide.
The Main Showcase Stage is also located in the Make it Happen exhibition where you will be entertained with music, dance, theatre and much more. See pages 18–21 for the Showcase timetable.

The BBC stand
The BBC is staging hands-on activities to inspire young people to think about their employability skills in the ‘Make it Happen’ area of WorldSkills, stand 397. Bringing popular shows such as Eastenders E20, Dragons’ Den and Epic Win to the exhibition, visitors will be able to join drop-in sessions and enjoy a variety of activities throughout the four days, as well as meeting some of the stars of the shows!

Find out about your chance to train in another European country with Apprenticeship and training exchange programmes with Youth on the Move

With an exhaustive timetable of performances taking place right across ExCeL London, the guide on the next few pages will help you know what’s on and when.
