Hello h!, Upon completion of the WBG Analyst Program you could indeed apply to the YPP too.

However, note that you would have gone through a similar development curriculum so the benets would not beas g reat.

Also, at the end of the WBG Analyst Program if you came with a master's degree you could potentially meet theeligibility criteria to apply to an officer's p osition which is t he level Young Professionals are recruited.

    • 3 hours agoHi! I have many questions.

    1) What is the application timeline for this p rogram, including resume drop, interview dates, notication dates, andstart dates for chosen applicants?2) What are the characteristics/personal qualities of a good candidate for this program?3) What is the structure of the application process, particularly the interviews? Specically, will there be caseinterviews, simulations, and written tests in addition to the behavioral components?4) What are expected outcomes of the program for candidates?

For current WB Analysts:4) What is something you wish you knew about the program before joining?5) What has made you successful in your role?6) Why did you join the program?

The question to the Analysts. After passing the online tests, did you just wait to be contacted directly by the HRteam when the business need for an analyst appeared or did you have to take a more proactive approach andlook for op portunities yourself?

Dear WBG representatives,Thank you so much for the informational opportunity!I am very interested in the Operations Department, specically in the Cross-Cutting Solution Areas.

    1) What I was wondering, if the Analyst Program allows rotation between these different cross-cutting areasand/or between the WBG ve institutions?

    2) Do I have to specify the exact cross-cutting area in my application? For instance, I am very passionate aboutenergy governance, but also have knowledge about PP partnerships. Do I have to choose one in this case?

    3) My professional experience comprises 7 months of internships a nd 12 months of a student job. Do I still fulll

Hi! I would like to be sure about some things:1. I was checking the application form and I am not sure about in what moment am I supposed to choose the 2areas. Is there a specic part for that? Or am I supposed to only mention it in my cover letter?2. Right after the description of the Cross-Cutting Solution Areas in the web it says "A Master’s degree is requiredto apply". Is that a mistake? Because I thought that as a Bachelor I could also apply and I don't recall reading thatin last year's d escription, but I am not sure.3. Can I mention internships and volunteer or unpaid experience to complete the 1-3 yea rs that are required? Andif I've also worked midtime as a private tutor in Science classes for children (freelancer), should I also mentionthat? Or would that be irrelevant?

Thank you very much for your time and patience!,Ana

Hi Ana! You should apply to up to two areas by applying to each of those two separately. For the OperationsStream a Master's Degree is required. You could include internships and volunteer work and that would count aspart of your experience. Unfortunately private tutoring for children will not count. Hope this a nswer your questions.Mar 17 2016 8:44 AM

Ihave an undergraduate degree in Business (Major in Finance) and a postgraduate degree in Law. I have done aninternship with United Nations Environment Programme Finance Initiative and I am most interested to join theClimate Change team in World Bank.

    1. Can any of the analysts in this live chat share your experience when you are going through the applicationprocess? For example, your interview experiences, what type of questions a re being asked, your personalbackground, and from hindsight, how did you impress your interviewers?

    2. Do you think the application process a re s tricter on CV screening or interview screening? Some organizationsscreen a lot of CVs away in the early stage of application. Those candidates who make it to the interview stageare very likely to get a job offer. What is the situation at World Bank?

    3. Questions for climate change team analysts: do you think your team need people with skill sets a bout law andprivate nance? I have solid legal training and practice experience, however my legal experience is mostly limitedto insurance sector due to my rm's practice. Also, would a CFA qualication be helpful?

    4. I am a Hong Kong citizen and I am not in the list of eligible countries. Can Hong Kong citizens be counted asChinese citizens? (China is eligible)

    5. Will the 2017 cohort start straight in February 2017?

    • 2 hours agoDear HR officer, you mention in the selection process page that the online assessment will be carried out April13-20. Does this mean the assessment link is to be sent out on the 13th and we have a week to complete before20th? Or the link will be sent out any time between 13-20th, and we have another week to complete? Thank you.
