WSE brings together the most happening and disruptive startups, along with C level executives from the top corporations, government agencies, incubators, investors, HNWIs, VC funds, banks, students and technology companies across the world.

The event sets the stage for a curated set of startups to present themselves in front of an audience comprising of investors, early stage adopters, mentors, potential co-founders and partners. Technology companies will be able to showcase their latest technologies which would help in the growth of startups.

The three-day event will feature thought leaders, experienced entrepreneurs and investors taking part in keynotes, panel discussions and interactive sessions.

Those who are established startups and have a valuation worth several million US dollars and already generating over US$5 million in revenues

INTERLAYERS

Those�who�are�in�the�first�round�of�raising�capital�through VCs who typically raise between US$3-5 million in exchange for 20 per cent company share

Established companies which are valued over US$1 billion, about to go public and are already in discussion with investment banks to raise capital

CONVERSATIONS THAT MATTER

60 minute sessions that begin like a traditional lecture with a content leader presenting ideas to the audience for 15-20 mins. The lecture then stops and a room-wide discussion begins. WHO IS IT FOR?

Application to the Hackathon event is open to college students and

institutes across the world.

OBJECTIVE

A very healthy and informal atmosphere with realistic

expectations to ensure participants can learn as well as prove their

expertise.

Participants will typically form�two-five�member�

teams each and dive into problem solving.

TIMELINE

Participants are given 48 hour deadline to complete

a project. Upon completion, they will pitch their ideas

and winners are awarded.

India is now home to eight ‘Unicorns’ (startups with over a US$1 billion valuation) and many who are aspiring Unicorns. The past 12�months�have�witnessed�a�tremendous�inflow�of�funding�into�young companies, especially in sectors like e-commerce and taxi-hailing.

The key takeaway is that entrepreneurship is now mainstream. There have been around 4,000 startups founded in 2015, a 400 per cent increase from 2010. Everyone knows someone who’s a founder.

The Indian venture ecosystem is coming of age and failure in a startup is no big deal for the young entrepreneur but seen as a stepping stone to build a successful one next time around. We are about to witness the era of serial entrepreneurship!

Towards the end of 2015, the talk in startup ecosystems across the world had turned to an imminent slowdown in funding. Investors are becoming more discerning. Many believe only those companies that have strong fundamentals, which is to deliver great customer experience and show strong gross margins, will continue to attract growth capital.

Investors, however, do not believe it is time to panic as the India opportunity is still large, and many investors have just raised fresh�funds�and�have�the�firepower�to�last�the�next�two�to�three�years.
