The occasion was the official launch of the World Ship Trust and premiere of the film. Award No 2 to Vasa, presented on 21 st April, 1982 by HM King Gustav XVI of Sweden to Mr Tore Tallroth, Chairman of the Sea History Museums Council. Award No 3 to Mary Rose, presented at Buckingham Palace on 28 th October, 1983 by HM Queen Elizabeth II to HRH Prince Charles, the President of the Mary Rose Trust. Award No 4 to Jylland, presented on 3 rd April 1985 by HM Queen Margarethe II to HRH Prince Henrik, the Patron of the Den Selvejende Institution of Ebeltoft. Award No 5 to USS Constitution, presented on 17 th December, 1987 by President Ronald Reagan to Commander David M Cashman, USN, Commanding Officer. Award No 6 to HMS Warrior (1860) presented on 24 th March, 1988 by HRH Prince Philip to Sir John Smith, CBE for his unstinted contribution to her preservation. Award No 7 to Polly Woodside, presented on 17 th October, 1988 by Dr Davis McCaughy, Governor of Victoria, to commander Michael Parker, CVO, Chairman of Melbourne Maritime Museum. Award No 8 to Suphanna-Hong, Royal Barge of Thailand, presented on 4 th June 1992 by HM King Bhumibol Aduladej to the Director of Thailand’s National Fine Arts Department. Award No 9 to Mikasa, presented on 8 th June 1992 by the Minister of State for Defence, Japan to Mr Toru Hara, Director of the Mikasa Preservation Society. Award No 10 to Buffel, presented on 8 th September 1995 by Vice Admiral J A L Van Aalst, Inspector of the Royal Netherlands Armed Forces, to Mr Lex Kater, Director, Prins Hendrik Maritime Museum, Rotterdam. SPECIAL AWARDS

1. The first Special Award was presented to Balclutha by Mr Edward G Zelinsky, Trustee of the World Ship Trust, in San Francisco, California, USA on 5th October, 2000.

2. The second was presented to the Pilot Vessel Edmund Gardner by M.

Jacques Chauveau, Chairman of the World Ship Trust, in Liverpool, England, on 10th April 2002.

3. The third was presented in Bombay to Admiral Mahvendra Singh for the

Bombay Castle structure in India, by Captain Christopher Chamberlen on 4th November 2003.

4. The fourth was presented to HQS Wellington on board the vessel, by HRH

Prince Philip on 10th March 2004.

5. The fifth to SS Lane Victory presented on 9th October 2007 in San Diego
