The musicians of the group, performers of international reputation, engage in detailed musico- logical research to perpetuate the traditional Japanese repertoire. Nevertheless, the ensemble Hijiri Kai collaborates with contemporary composers opening new perspectives within the tradition. Victor Vertunni is a London born actor and singer-songwriter now living in Italy. After graduating in theatre studies at the University of East Anglia he worked on a variety of theatre productions before co-founding the international theatre ensemble Theatre of Eternal Values. He has performed his original musical adaptations of William Blake's Songs of Innocence and of Experience in venues and festivals across Europe and in the USA. Theatre of Eternal Values is an international theatre ensemble with a passionate belief in the power of theatrical performance to heighten self-awareness and inspire positive change. TEV was established in Gent in 1996 by performing artists and theatre practitioners dedicated to artistic and human development. TEV has performed all over the world with original productions that express universal spiritual and cultural values that transcend political, social and geographical barriers. It founded and runs the Nirmal Arts Academy and Festival Cultura dello Spirito at its homebase in Albera Ligure, Italy. Robert Pobitschka is a pianist and a composer. His compositions address important social and environmental issues. Kyrie eleison - dedicated to nature, and Water is Life were performed at various important venues including the United Nations Vienna and to commemorate International World Water Day at the Ceremonial Hall of Vienna’s Hofburg Palace. His works have been broadcasted all over the world. His concert tours have taken him to Italy, Germany, Russia, Czech Republic, Hungary, South Africa, Peru, the USA and China. Clara Pòlito, soprano, is the winner of many international opera competitions. The peculiar extension and agility of her voice allows her to interpret such different roles as the Königin der Nacht (Mozart), the Donizetti heroins (Lucia di Lammermoor, Anna Bolena, Lucrezia Borgia) and the Verdi's great protagonists (Luisa Miller, Violetta). She sings in important theaters and festivals (La Fenice in Venice, Teatro San Carlo in Naples, Festival della Valle d’Itria). The String Quartett Class of Istituto Superiore di Studi Musicali “L. Boccherini”, under the direction of M° Paolo Ardinghi, performs in concerts and events not only in Lucca, but also in Italy and abroad. The most recent performances include those in the Chamber Music Festival in Verona, in the El Escorial Auditorium (Madrid) and in the Palais Hermitage (Monaco). The students have collaborated with artists of the highest level such as Nicola Piovani, winner of the Oscar Award for music, and have achieved personal success in competitions, auditions and recordings for RAI Television 1. Stefania Giannini is a distinguished scholar in linguistics and has been Rettore of the University of Perugia since 2004. She has widely contributed to promoting Italian language and culture all over the world, and has coordinated some of the most important strategic projects for the Internationalization of the University system and for student mobility in both European and non- European countries (Erasmus Mundus, Italy-China, Italy-Egypt, Italy-Turkey, Expo 2015).   • Eiji Hattori is the Honorary President of World Federation of UNESCO Clubs, Centres and Associations (WFUCA). He is a diplomat and he has been for over forty years General Director of the Depart-ment the Culture of UNESCO in Paris. His interventions have largely focused on inter-religious dialogue with the Muslim world. He made important legislative projects in favor of cultural diversity. He is Professor Emeritus at the Sorbonne University (Paris) and at the Reitaku University in Japan. He is the President of the Japan Society for Global System and Ethics. He has promoted the WFUCA campaign for the foundation of the Global Ethics World Day.

    The Boccherini Guitar Ensemble is composed of the best guitar students from Istituto Boccherini of Lucca. On October 2011 the ensem-ble won the first prize at the important international competition Cremona Guitar Convention. In 2012 the ensemble has performed in prestigious venues as the Festival Paganini in Parma, a world point of reference for the guitar. The ensemble is prepared by internationally renowned guitarist and teacher at the Istituto "L. Boccherini", Giampaolo Bandini.

    Adriano Fabris is professor of Moral Philosophy at the University of Pisa. He wrote several studies on Martin Heidegger’s thought, on contemporary Hermeneutics, on the foundation of a philosophy of religion in a pluralistic age. Recently he has studied applied ethics (above all Communication Ethics and Intercultural Communication). He is the Director of the journal «Teoria» and he is part of the scientific board of many other important journals.

    Tsuyoshi Kida is Currently Associate professor at the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, Univeristy of Tsukuba (Japan). Holder of the titles of Ph.D. in General linguistics (University of Aix-Marseille, France), Master in Architecture (School of Architecture in Marne-la-Vallée, France). After his career as an architect, he started to be interested in question of Multimodality, that is how visual and auditive worlds interact each other and how identity is represented through voice and gesture. The areas of his research endeavor are: Gesture, Intercultural Communication, Sociolinguistics, Pragmatics, Discourse, Social interaction, Civil Society, Global Negotiation, Globalization, etc.

    Saburo Aoki, professor of linguistics, Director of Global Negotiation Program, University of Tsukuba.

    Teruhisa Fukuda, Kinko School of shakuhachi, founder of the Voie du Bambou, member of the Pro Musica Nipponia and founding member of the Hijiri Kai - Groupe des sages ensemble.

    Shiho Kineya, Hijiri school of shamisen, co-founder of the Sainte Ecole of Music, member of the Hijiri Kai– Groupe des sages ensemble.

    Vivian Nobes, theatre director and actress, formerly of the Centre international de recherche théâtrale and Vice President of the theatre group Yoshi&Co., presently Director, Association des études sur la musique française.

    Akira Tamba, formerly Director of Research at the CNRS Paris, is a composer, musical director and musicologist. Among his many contem-porary works, the Interférences cycle of modern compositions for traditional Japanese instruments was written specially for the Hijiri Kai- Groupe des sages ensemble.
