Welcome to theAdventure!

You ProvideA working computer (any OS) with an Ethernetjack or dongleKnowledge and /or willingness to use thecommand linePatience

I ProvideExperience setting up over 3 dozen of theselittle puppies.Experience with nearly every “uh oh!” momentconceivableHelp when you get stuckGiddyup to keep us on track time-wise

Parts ListTP-Link TL-MR3040 (version 2.x) wireless router16 GB Sandisk Cruzer Fit USB flash drive (FAT32formatted)

LibraryBox install folderLibraryBox firmware update

Ethernet cableUSB charger + charging cable

Let's Get Going!1. Unbox / Unbag all of the parts and place them next to you

2. Connect USB cable to your computer and the router (yellow lightshould glow) - DON’T TURN IT ON YET!

3. Connect the Ethernet cable from your computer to the router

4. Switch the 3-mode selector to “WISP” if not already done so (onlyever use this mode).

5. Turn off your computer’s WiFi - yes, really

6. Open the command line (Windows: cmd, OS X: terminal)

Okay, ready now?

Take out the USB driveyes, really. Sorry.

Take out the USB drive

You'll need a file from it

Snag that file!1. Put the USB flash drive into your machine.2. Copy the file .bin to an easy to find location on your

computer, like your home directory  (or My Documents)

3. Safely eject (the right way) your USB flash drive andput it back into the router.

Now you canturn on the router!

… and … wait … … for … it …… to … boot … up …

Now we're getting somewhere!Open your favorite non-Microsoft browser   (just ‘cuz)

Type 192.168.0.1 into the address bar and press return

Wait, wut?

A username and password? But I don’t know what that is!

Any guesses?

Yup!admin and admin

as you would expect

Make it so!

Now for the long wait......Click "System Tools" -> "Firmware Upgrade"Click the “Browse…” button and choose the file youcopied off of the USB flash drive just a moment ago

Upgrade!Click the “Upgrade” buttonWait patiently for 10 - 20 minutes while the router installs the new firmware and rebootsDon't trust the browser window!

Okay, who’s lost,who needs help?

While we wait...Do Not Disconnect the Ethernet Cable!Do Not Be Fooled By Flashing LEDs!Help your neighbor if you think you’ve done it right

Time to check-in? 

In your browser, go to 192.168.1.1Celebrate if you see the LibraryBox screen!Fold your hands and wait if not... either way ... Copy the additional files off my USB flash drive!

Now it’s BibleBox install time!1. Turn off your router2. Remove the USB flash drive and put it in your computer3. Unzip the install_BibleBox.zip file to your computer4. Unzip the h5ai-setup.zip file to your computer

On the BibleBox flash drive1. Open the LibraryBox folder2. Delete the Config folder3. Delete the Content folder4. Delete the Shared folder

From your computerCopy all 3 folders in install_BibleBox (Config, Content,and Shared) into the LibraryBox folder on the BibleBoxflash driveNote: content you want to share goes into the foldersinside “Shared'

Prep for a later stepCopy the two files in the h5ai-setupfolder to the root of the USB flash drive

Let's Keep Going!Safely eject the BibleBox flash drive and put it into the routerTurn on the router and wait ~4 minutes for it to bootLeave the Ethernet plugged inBrowse to any non-https website (like biblebox.org)

Now for the hard part

Securing your BibleBoxThis isn’t really optional...

WindowsUnzip the putty.zip fileDouble-click putty.exe

Mac OS XOpen the Terminal

$ telnet 192.168.1.1

Create a Great Password1. (windows and mac)2. Type 1 to set the password3. Enter a great password (one you’ll remember)4. Enter it a second time5. Yay! You’re done, mostly...

$ box_init_setup.sh

Prettify the File BrowserWhile still connected using telnet/ssh, type this

$ cd /mnt/usb $ chmod 755 install_h5ai.sh $ sh install_h5ai.sh

Reboot andpray it worked!
