Managers and trainers develop par-ticularly strong partnerships with committed employers to ensure that learning programmes mirror professional working practices and learners demonstrate good work related skills that are valued by employers.
Good curriculum planning allows ICT apprentices to choose from five-day ‘modules’ of scheduled intensive training that either closely reflects their workplace responsi-bilities or introduces relevant new knowledge.

About Baltic TrainingWe create partnerships with employers to identify which skills, training and qualifications are relevant to the entry-level positions within the sector in each geographical location. The curriculum is then designed and developed to specifically address the employers’ requirements for skills.
Baltic Training offers a number of vendor qualifications that are highly desired by employers within the industry up to the value of £15,000, which are delivered in addition to the funded frameworks. This provides employers with a more competent and qualified workforce while simultaneously increasing learner motivation, enhancing their job pros-pects and wellbeing.

young person completes week 20 of the Apprenticeship programme
• The grant is in addition to the government-funded training pro-grammes and is exempt from VAT

The Apprenticeship Grant for Employers (AGE) is to help eligible employers offer young people employment through Apprenticeships, by providing a cash incentive to assist them. The Grant has already helped thousands of small-me-dium businesses grow their business by employing an apprentice. Baltic will support you throughout the process and submit your grant for you.
• Have less than 50 employees in the UK (including all branches/sites)?
• Interested in employing a young apprentice and need some financial help in taking on your first one?
• Not employed an apprentice in the last 12 months? Including a new apprentice or transferring an existing employee onto an apprenticeship programme
For some areas, the Apprentice Grant for Employers (AGE) is managed locally and eligibility criteria will be different to those set out here. “I have received great quality train-ing from Baltic. Everyone is friendly and understanding, and I don’t feel patronised if I don’t understand something that I am getting taught. I find that the work is slowly paced which is good, but there are a mix of different things within each webinar... Tutors are happy to stay after hours for more support, I wouldn’t get this type of support in a sixth form or college.”
“My employer has supported me during my training, what I learn during the class is similar to what I have been taught by my supervisor, the combi-nation has allowed me to gain a better understanding. The training has been unbelievably impressive, I like the online webinars - the training sessions are very interactive with the tutor and other learners.”
“Baltic has been fantastic at partnering with us, minimising any dis-ruption whilst sourcing and supporting apprentices who stay with us for the long haul. It goes without saying that apprenticeships are the way forward... Baltic are the perfect partner for us to drive this agenda forward.”
Tony Hay Future Talent Manager
“Baltic Training Services impressed me with their knowledge, flexibility and passion for the development and career of the young professionals we were recruiting. Not only did they provide quality training but their pastoral care and client management was also of the highest order.”
Graham HerbertEmployee Engagement and Development
“I feel that Baltic have provided a great quality of service/training programmes. Throughout my apprenticeship my employer has provided work and projects alongside the modules in my apprenticeship, and offered any resource I deem necessary to help me. The course of this apprenticeship is a great starting point to the software and web development world.”

Frequently Asked QuestionsHow will Baltic Training Services involve the work-based mentor and/or supervisor? 1. The work-based mentor and supervisor are involved
throughout the delivery of the entire apprenticeship programme.
2. Each apprentice is allocated a coordinator and an assessor at the start of their apprenticeship.
3. The coordinator is the point of contact at Baltic Head Office who will organise and agree on all of the training schedules with the apprentice’s supervisor/work-based mentor.
4. The assessor will organise all virtual meetings, reviews and assessments; these are agreed in advance with the apprentice and their supervisor/work-based mentor.
5. During the appointment, the assessor will carry out a formal review of the apprentice’s progress and performance. The supervisor/work- based mentor will be invited to the review meeting and is actively involved in providing feedback to the apprentice and setting them goals and objectives.
6. All apprentices will be required to collect work-based evidence, some of which will need to be authenti-cated by the apprentice’s supervisor/work-based mentor and will therefore require a witness testi-mony or signature.
7. The employer is provided with a dedicated appren-ticeship coordinator as a point of escalation to support the pastoral care of the apprentice.
How often will Baltic Training Services carry out reviews of the apprentice’s progress? Progress reviews are carried out in months 1, 3, 5, 7, 9 and 11 of the programme; approximately every 8 weeks, via virtual meetings. The apprentice’s assessor will also be in contact with your apprentice during months 2, 4, 6, 8, 10 and 12 and will issue them with a documented feedback/action plan, which will outline their progress and also any work they will need to complete ahead of their next scheduled call/webinar.
Are there any other costs? e.g. registration/administration fees Training costs are covered by Baltic Training, which includes City and Guilds certification and registration fees, official labs and courseware. Exam costs for the vendor qualifications are not covered as part of the funded apprenticeship provision. Exam vouchers can be purchased via Baltic Training.
