This farmer works in the Windward Islands in the Caribbean.
This green fruit has been growing on tall plants for about twelve months.
The farmer is picking big bunches of the fruit.

This woman works in Uganda.
She’s checking to see if the berries on these plants are ready to pick.
The seeds inside the berries – called beans – will be washed, dried, sorted, roasted, ground, and then packaged.

This man works in Malaysia.
He’s picking the leaves from these long rows of plants.
The leaves will be sold to factories, where other workers will dry and sort them.
Then they’ll put the dried leaves into boxes.

This man works in Brazil. There are lots of fields like this in Brazil. The plants can measure up to six metres!
The man is cutting down the stalks.
These stalks, or canes, will be washed, chopped, shredded, mixed with water and crushed to release a juice.
This juice is used to make a very, very sweet food. People add it to other foods to make them taste better.

Palm trees can sometimes grow to be over 20 metres tall.
