1. Introduction

We all go through different routes as we begin the process of applying that job as a house officer in Malaysia. This few sheets of paper will serve as a guide to those who chooses to follow mine. Bearing in mind that you are also a JPA scholar and have went for the SPA interview. If everything goes smoothly, you can have this done and over with in less than 90 minutes. Thus avoiding all the headache and frustration that I had to go through.

All these departments/organizations are located at Kompleks Kerajaan Putrajaya. Since Putrajaya operates a park and ride system, I can guarantee you that it would be difficult to find a proper parking space there. The idea is for you to park at an allocated space and then uses the public transportation available to get to the complex. Hence;

Do not go alone so you could have someone wait in the car or Find a space to park at the sides of the road or Park at Alamanda. This however is alright if you’re going to parcel E only. Parcel

C is a long way to walk or Simply use the park and ride system

Please have your driving license/IC ready; to be exchanged with a ‘visitors pass’ at the reception counter of every building you enter. You will need the pass to swipe the doors before it could open.

In the letter, it mentioned to bring along proof of registration with MMC. I however, have not done so. Hence, the cited documents were sufficient.

Only then you will be given the Surat Perlantikan as a Pegawai Perubatan Gred UD 41. This will come through the post.

(I cant remember everything but it is all mentioned in the BMD. You cant go wrong with the basic documents)

If you’d like to settle this in a day, make the choices of your hospital early. The list is provided in the section below.

Provisional Registration

1. Form 4*2. MONEY ORDER for RM20 addressed to ‘Pendaftar Pengamal Perubatan’. Cash is not accepted at all!

3. 2 passport size photos

For MMC, the copies must not only mention it is a ‘true copy’. It must have the cop rasmi of the person certifying your documents.

4. One CERTIFIED COPY of;- Basic Medical Degree- Examination transcript

for whole training period- IC/Passport- Birth certificate- TWO COPIES of

SPM/MCE or equivalent.

You will then get a temporary registration letter in the same hour mentioning that you have registered with MMC, while they process your application. This is to be shown to your supervisors just in case you have to report early to work.

5. What to expect next.

a) Once you receive your ‘surat perlantikan’ from SPA, you are to send one copy out of the three reply forms, saying that you agree to take up the post within one month of the dated letter. This is to be done even though you haven’t received an allocation letter from KKM. I was told that you can do the medical check-up at the hospital you’ll be working in. I however have done it privately.

b) Some sort of information regarding induction week.c) Your allocated hospital information.
