Customize the Wordle For Better Accuracy

• Right click to remove any word from the Wordle that you don't want included. (Example: if your essay is about "Education", you might want to remove: teacher, student, educator)

• Alphabetize the words to scan them easier• I have students print three different Wordles when writing

essayso Rough Draft o 2nd Drafto Final

• They use a highlighter and go through the Wordle to identify any overused or "dead words"

• For the final essay, the words should be about equal in size.

How to Save Wordle as an Image

1. Create the Wordle2. Do a screen shot (PC - Snip it or Print Scrn, Mac - Grab it

or Cmd+Shift+4)3. Paste the captured image into PowerPoint4. Crop the image to remove excess5. Save image as a JPEG (PC - right click and Save as a

Picture)

Caveat - If you want to print the Wordle at a professional photo lab, you'll have to spend some time getting the dimensions to fit within the 4x6 image.  To prevent this, make sure you've created a Wordle layout with words fitted closely together and significant blank space around the edges
