• An 8-3/4 foot board must be shortened to 6-1/3 feet. How much must be removed?
Solved With Fractions
• Answer: 10. Solution: 1/3 of 15 is 5. 2/3 of 15 is 2 x 5 = 10. The number of cars that left the parking lot is 10.
• Solution:
removed = current length - new length
2 5/12 = 8 3/4 feet – 6 1/3 feet
