COMING this fall – an exciting new Bible study entitled Believe. This study is written by the author of The Story, Randy Frazee. It is a study to help each and every follower of Jesus Christ reach the goal of becoming more like Christ. This study will help us answer the question “But how do I start?” It is a 30-week study that helps us assess our spiritual life, pinpoint areas that need special attention, and gives us tools to help us grow. It is divided into three sections: THINK like Christ, ACT like Christ, and BE like Christ. The first section focuses on the core beliefs of the Christian faith, the next on foundational practices of the Christian life, and the third on Christlike virtues. The study will start beginning on Tuesday, September 22: from 2:00 – 3:30. Books will be available in the office after September 15. Please come and grow with us! Questions? Talk with
Dorothy Straks, the facilitator for this study.
The Spiritual Growth and Education Ministry Team is asking you to check your
book shelves at home and those cardboard boxes in your garage for books of a
spiritual nature. We would like to create a church "library" on wheels with
books to loan and/or sell to enhance our individual and collective spiritual growth.
Please give the books to Linn W. with a brief one or two sentence comment
about why you would recommend the book.
Thank you in advance for your cooperation…

LIVING GENEROUSLY – A Movie and Small Group Series The Stewardship Team, in partnership with the Spiritual Growth Team, has purchased a curriculum that we are very excited about. The curriculum involves two parts:
a 5 week “Movie Series” which will begin on Sunday October 11th (with a 7 minute clip each Sunday);
and a 6-week small group study component which includes a reflection and workbook. The study builds on the messages in the worship services, and it is a moving experience of deepening our capacity to be guided and moved to service by God. We would like to encourage everyone - newcomers and old timers - to participate. There are four opportunities to take part in a small group:

NAME TAGS HELP WELCOME NEWCOMERS! Thanks to Jennifer and Judy, we have a wonderful new name tag system starting this month! Look for your name tag on the bulletin board by the door to worship, and then be sure to hang it back up after fellowship. (The Name Tag Board will be wheeled to Guild Hall for easy access.) Name tags are an act of hospitality that helps newcomers feel welcome by making it easier for everyone to learn new names. Please remember to return your name tag to the board.
