PARKING LOT SAFETY REMINDERS Thank you for utilizing care and caution when driving on our campus. Those who have dropped off or picked up their child before or after school are well aware that traffic around our school can become quite congested, especially with the winter weather upon us. Following these basic guidelines will help move traffic along and help ensure safety

DROP OFF OR PICK-UP BEFORE AND AFTER Dropping off students before school and picking up students after school must be done on the north side of the school (B1 and B2 entrances). Pull up as far as you can and stay along the sidewalk. Doing so will allow those behind you to enter the lot. The outer lane should be kept clear so that traffic can continue to flow. Students should never be picked up or dropped off from the outer lane. Follow the roadways within our parking lot. Never cut through the parking area to make a u-turn

GENERAL PARKING LOT GUIDELINES Follow the established traffic pattern and obey all signage and pavement markings. School busses always have the right of way while on school grounds. Only park in marked spaces. Do not park in the area reserved for school buses. The use of hand-held cell phones while driving is illegal in the State of Illinois.

Each year the Woodland PTA raises nearly $100,000 and budgets these funds for programs in our schools. This year WMS will receive over $25,000 for our cultural arts assemblies, 8th grade trip, library, and ROAR program. Without this financial support, our students would not have access to any of these programs/activities.

Amazingly, our PTA is able to accomplish all of this with very few volunteers. They need your help. If you are able to spare as little as an hour or two to volunteer at a PTA event or attend a PTA meeting, please consider doing so. For more information, you can email our PTA at [email protected].

SUPPORT THE WOODLAND PTA

A great big thank you goes out to all the families who have contributed to the Family-School Partnership Conference Dinner. Your child’s teachers will thoroughly enjoy a dinner of pulled pork, pulled chicken, baked beans, potato salad and garden salad from BBQ’d Productions in Third Lake.

The General Mills Box Tops for Education™ program provides a valuable source of revenue for our student activities account. We received our June check from the Box Tops for Education™ program and WMS earned $300.30. 10¢ per box top really adds up! We still need your help clipping and turning in Box Tops for us to reach this year’s goal of $1,000. We are awaiting our December check and will receive one more in April. Please help us by collecting and turning in box tops to the WMS office.
