ACTIVITIES CORNER WITH DEEDEEIt has been such a journey traveling the United States and learning various different things as we go. We have traveled over 15 States so far. We have learned so many unique things like; The snoopy mountain in Arizona, the Beckham’s private street in Beverly Hills, California, the Marijuana mall in Colorado, the special Olympics in Georgia, and the best deep dish pizza in Illinois. It is so much fun to see the residents enjoy finding out something new in every state we explore. This month we will be exploring; Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maine and Maryland. If you would like to add anything to our state observations, please see me. There’s no place like home. See you in Kansas!

Purrfect News with MaryErnest Hemingway loved cats. After he was given a six-toed (polydactyl) cat by a ship’s captain, he was never without one. His home in Florida boasts 40-50 cats and it is now a museum with many visitors. His sense of humor shows in the names given to his feline roommates. He had a Frank Sinatra, Marilyn Monroe and Zsa Zsa Gabor to mention a few. Although an animal agency has raised questions about the cats’ care, they are deemed to be well cared for and happy. Few cats have it so good; the run of the museum and the grounds. I’d love to see it all.

EMPLOYEE OF THE MONTH
Quentarshar “Tasha” JohnsonWe would like to acknowledge our Resident Aide Quentarshar “Tasha” Johnson as our caring Employee of the month. Tasha is always on the scene when it is time to lend a help-ing hand. Tasha has left a huge im-pact on the lives of many of our res-idents from her dearing personality. Congratulations and keep working hard on making Wood Ridge a great place to call home.
Mental Health Awareness MonthEach year millions of Americans face the reality of living with a mental health condition. 1 in 5 Americans will be affected by a mental health condition in their lifetime and every American is affected or impacted through their friends and family. Take action today to help others as we fight stigma, provide support, educate the public and advocate for equal care. Throughout May, NAMI and participants across the country are raising awareness for the importance of mental health. Each year we fight stigma, provide support, educate the public and advocate for equal care. Each year, the movement grows stronger.
