Note: It is the responsibility of all participants to be in possession of the correct documentation to travel out of the country. Failure to do so will result in participants being denied entry/boarding and returned home at the expense of the individual. Canadian Citizens require a valid passport (authorities at your destination require that passports are valid for 3 months beyond your return date). Ellison Travel & Tours recommends passports are valid for 6 months beyond your return date. Non-Canadians must check entry and transit requirements. Day 1 – Tuesday, Sept 19 – Lisbon to the Algarve D

*Independent arrival at the Lisbon International Airport Upon arrival in Lisbon meet our driver and English speaking guide for a private group *transfer

to the Algarve and check into our 4 star hotel for a 5 night stay. Enjoy the beauty and warm weather of the Algarve with the remainder of the day at leisure to explore the seaside resort or rest after a long flight. Regroup in the evening for a welcome dinner with fellow travelling companions.

*Broad Escapes will have a designated group flight from Toronto. The group transfer will be

based on the designated group flight arrival time. Those arriving at a different date/time will either meet the group at the arrivals area of the Lisbon International Airport for an 11:00am transfer to the Algarve or meet the group at the hotel in the Algarve.

Day 2 – Wednesday, Sept 20 – Silves - Faro B/WT/D Today relax with a leisure start to the day with a late morning departure to Silves, the Moorish

capital of the Algarve. Enjoy a guided walking tour of the Silves Castle followed by wine tasting at a local family estate vineyard. Continue towards Faro to participate in an interactive cooking class based on a traditional Algarve menu. Savour the flavours with a lovely dinner of what you and the others have prepared!

Day 3 – Thursday, Sept 21 - Algarve B

Today is a full day at leisure in the Algarve. Spend time strolling the beach, relaxing poolside or exploring this south coast area of Portugal. It’s your day to enjoy in the Algarve as you wish.

Day 4 – Friday, Sept 22 - Algarve B/pL

Depart this morning towards the striking resort town of Vilamoura with its trendy restaurants, stylish shops and luxury marina. Take time to stroll and shop in this busy seaside town before our afternoon dolphin watching boat cruise. Experience an adventure- filled cruise and visit the caves and grottos of the area where those who wish can practice their standup paddling skills. Continue on to watching the playful dolphins (we cannot guarantee sightings) who call

these waters home. Packed lunch and wine included. Return to your hotel for an evening at leisure.

Day 5 – Saturday, Sept 23 - Algarve B/D

Today is a full day at leisure in the Algarve. Spend the day exploring the area, walking on the beach, relaxing poolside exploring this south coast area of Portugal. It’s your last day in the Algarve to enjoy as you wish but save some energy for a group dinner in the evening.

Day 6 – Sunday, Sept 24 –to Evora B/L

Say farewell to the Algarve and depart towards Evora. Stop along the way for a visit to a cork factory and see the transformation from tree to final product. After lunch continue to the magnificent “white gold” region of Vila Vicosa with a visit a marble quarry to learn about the production and history of this metamorphic rock. Continue to Evora with the remainder of the day and evening at leisure.

Overnight in Evora – 4* property - 2 nights

Day 7 –Monday, Sept 25 – Evora B/D Explore the cultural oasis of Evora, a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1986, with a morning

walking tour. Meander through the streets seeing sites and buildings such as the Temple of Diana, the Giraldo Plaza and the Sao Francisco Church. Enjoy the afternoon at leisure exploring the museums and shops in this charming whitewashed old town. Complete the day at a Fado Dinner and Show tasting traditional Portuguese dishes and listening to the intense melancholic Fado music.

Day 8 – Tuesday, Sept 26 – to Lisbon B

Transfer by coach to Lisbon and check in to a 4 Star hotel for a 3 night stay. In the afternoon enjoy a guided tour through Alfama, a traditional neighbourhood of Lisbon, well known by the narrow streets, high steps and windowsills covered with flowers. Savour the spectacular São Jorge Castle and views that encompass the old city’s pastel-colored buildings, Tagus Estuary, the Ponte 25 de Abril suspension bridge and so much more! Enjoy an evening at leisure in this pedestrian friendly city.

Day 9 – Wednesday, Sept 27 – Lisbon B/L Depart on a full day guided excursion to Fatima, Nazare and Obidos. Capture the historical

charm of these three rural Portuguese towns. Discover the fascinating medieval heritage in Obidos, the quaintness of the small fishing town of Nazare, where we will enjoy lunch, and the sanctuary of Fatima, one of the most famous Christian pilgrimage sites. Return to Lisbon for an evening at leisure.

Day 10 – Thursday, Sept 28 – to Lisbon B/D

Today is a full day at leisure in Lisbon. Known as the City of Seven Hills, it is also one of the sunniest cities in Europe. Stroll through the charming historical centre, hop on a vintage trolley to Belem, wander through the boutique shops or savour a pastel de nata (Portugese famous tart) at an outdoor café. The day is yours to enjoy. In the early evening, regroup for a farewell dinner and reminisce with fellow travelling companions about the memories you have shared along the way.

Day 11 –Friday, Sept 29 – departure to Toronto B

Say farewell to Portugal with a group *transfer to the Lisbon Airport and check-in for the return flight home.

*Broad Escapes will have a designated group flight to Toronto. The group transfer will be based on the designated group flight departure time. Individual transfers can be arranged at an additional cost for those departing at a different date/time.

Please note that an average/moderate level of fitness is required to enjoy the various activities of this tour. Trip activities include walking, sometimes on uneven ground, climbing stairs and getting on and off buses, boats etc. As a courtesy to fellow travellers all Broad Escape tours are considered non-smoking in that smoking will not be permitted during group activities or on board the bus.

Goods & Services Tax: The Canadian Government's G.S.T. and/or H.S.T. may apply to the cost of your tour. Your vacation consultant will advise of the additional G.S.T./H.S.T. charges, if any, that apply to the cost of your tour. Ellison Travel & Tours reserves the right to pass any Government changes to the tax structure on to the consumer. Price Guarantee: Once the deposit is paid, the tour cost is guaranteed. Prices are however subject to change to cover any unexpected costs over which Ellison Travel & Tours has no control, such as fuel surcharges, government taxes and country visas. In the event of a surcharge tour members and/or vacation consultants will be advised of any surcharge on their tour. Ellison Travel & Tours does not accept responsibility for passengers who do not meet correct visa and passport requirements. Currency: All prices are shown in Canadian Dollars. Baggage: Maximum baggage allowance on motoroach tours is one large suitcase per person. All hand luggage must be carried personally aboard the motorcoach or aircraft. Although the Tour Manager and Coach Driver supervise the transfer of luggage to and from the motorcoach and every effort is made to handle luggage as carefully as possible, Ellison Travel & Tours cannot assume liability for loss, theft or damage due to breakage, fire, water, etc. Accommodation: All hotels listed in itineraries have been confirmed at the time of printing, but are subject to change. On most tours, TWIN refers to two persons sharing one room with two beds; however, in some areas, only one double bed may be available, so please specify at time of booking if you wish two separate beds. TRIPLE or QUAD usually refers to three or four persons sharing one room with two double beds, all with private bath. Please keep in mind that in some areas local customs may mean that there is a change in the type of accommodation provided. The tour organizer reserves the right to make any changes before or during the tour for the comfort and enjoyment of the passengers and it is agreed and understood that any increase in costs occasioned by such change shall be paid by the passengers or any decrease in costs occasioned by the change shall be refunded to the passenger. Force Majeure: Except where otherwise expressly stated in these conditions, we regret we cannot accept liability or pay any compensation where the performance or prompt performance of our obligations under our contract with you is prevented or affected by or you otherwise suffer any injury, damage, loss or expense of any nature as a result of “force Majeure”. In these conditions, “force Majeure” means any event which Ellison Travel & Tours or the supplier of the service(s) in question could not, even with all due care, foresee or avoid. Such events may include actual or threatened war, riot, civil strife, terrorist activity, industrial dispute, natural or nuclear disaster, adverse weather conditions, disease, fire and all similar events outside our control. All tour itineraries are subject to change or cancellation without prior notice. Tour managers are subject to substitution where deemed necessary. Ellison Travel & Tours shall have no responsibilities beyond their refund of all monies paid by the passenger which is deemed to constitute full settlement. The tour organizer reserves the right to decline any person as a member of the tour at any time before or during the tour should such person's presence be considered detrimental to the interest, comfort and enjoyment of the other tour members. Persons leaving the tour during operation will not receive a refund of unused services. Ellison Travel & Tours, its agents and all passengers agree that conditions set out herein are part of the terms between the passenger and the tour organizer. Acceptance of the ticket for the tour or any deposit given to the tour organizer represents acceptance by the passenger of all the aforementioned conditions.
