rimary care providers see women for initial evaluation and management of many gynecological problems and provide general women’s health and preventive care. This course will review the latest screening, preventive care and treatment guidelines for women at all ages across the life cycle. The morning begins with an in-depth look at the latest parenting options for all people who desire a family. We consider other pregnancy-related issues including pre-conceptual counseling and evaluation of early pregnancies to confirm viability and location. We will provide practical information applicable to daily patient encounters, including pelvic pain, polycystic ovarian syndrome and gynecological complications of obesity. A new approach to weight management will be presented. We update the latest new medications that you may hear about or prescribe. We learn about trauma-informed care and how we can provide sensitive care to our patients.

Teaching methods include lectures and question and answer with faculty.

target audience: This course is appropriate for physicians in family practice, general practice, internal medicine, and naturopathic medicine and will be of interest to gynecologists and hospitalists. This course is also appropriate for residents and advanced practice providers.

objectives: At the conclusion of this activity, participants should be able to:• Review the changing profiles of populations engaged in family building and summarize

when, how and why people access reproductive technologies• List the components of thorough pre-conceptional counseling• Describe testing and its interpretation to confirm early pregnancy location • Compare treatment approaches to weight management• Identify signs of polycystic ovarian syndrome and discuss treatment options• Summarize the key assumptions and principles a trauma informed care approach is built

upon and why this approach may have specific significance in women’s health and sexual and reproductive health

• Review the range of diagnostics and treatments for pelvic pain • Assess the latest additions to our pharmaceutical toolkit for women’s health problems • Describe the latest genetic considerations impacting hereditary gynecologic cancer• Discuss common conditions affecting the vulva and vagina, especially in

postmenopausal women
