Magaly Chacon since 4 years ago, presented a case in the national

Ombudusman and local judges. Her childwas infected after she was left on thematernity ward 8 hours with delivery workbut no care.

Despite the doctors knew her HIV statussince her 4th month of pregnancy, she wasnot given any means of prevention. She

demanded those doctors just to find outthat the union of medical doctors are thestrongest civil society groups in Bolivia.

There has not been justice for ESPERANZA(HOPE) the name of her 4 year olddaughter who is HIV positive and almostdied with AIDS when she was 2.

Women with HIV are part of global policy makingbodies such as UNAID S, The Global Fund, Stop TBPartnership more and more, but still not enough.

There is huge competition with other civilsociety movements: ´Who is more vulnerable?µ

AIDS is still seen as a gay topic, the feministmovement is becomming more engaged in allregions but there is resistance.Absolute numbers of people with HIV still showmen as the most affected group, that is becausegender and vulnerability dimensions are notbeing considered.
