Aloysia’s younger sister, Constanze.• Married Constanze in 1782• Had 6 children, only 2 boys, Karl and

Franz lived more than a year

Requiem• In July 1791 he was asked to write a

requiem• Worked very hard for several months• Health began to decline• Mozart passed away on December 5,

1791 at the age of 35.• Never finished the requiem

Successful LifeDuring his short life he was able to write over 600 pieces. Among them are:• 41 symphonies• 27 piano concertos• 5 violin concertos• 27 concert arias• 23 sting quartets• 18 masses• 22 operas

• Written in the summer of 1788 at the age of 32

• Critics described this piece as “the bellwether of Romanticism”
