NFPA 70E compliance

PPE required when working in and around electrical equipment

All Wolfenson employees who are working in and around electrical equipment must complete the NFPA 70E training.

Managers will ensure compliance with NFPA 70E

To prevent electrical incidents and injuries all employees who are working in and around electrical equipment are required to complete NFPA 70E training.

100% NFPA 70 E qualified for Journeymen.

Improve hazard identification

STAC

STAC - Audit 25% of workforce STAC's /week (For 100 employees, 25 STACs will be reviewed/week for completeness and specifics. 100% acceptable

1)Annual training will be held for all employees. 2)Safety contacts will facilitate STAC audits and report to construction managers the outcome and any necessary repeated training.

It is important for employees to be able to identify the hazards that exist on the job. Improving the quality of the STAC will allow us to gain further awareness of the job hazards.

Track employee and supervisor progress throughout year.

Improve job planning

Job execution plan and implementation (Identification of Sensitive Equipment is necessary)

Managers will review job performance with regards to job planning and execution.

Supervisors will be held accountable for their job planning and execution. Foreman/worker ratio is 1:5.

Adequate understanding of the job scope, sequence of tasks, sensitive equipment identification, Quality Assurance and completion without incident is the result of detailed job planning. A safe job is a quality job.

Track job performance by safety incidents, QAQC rework, and schedule.

Increase skill training/assessment

NCCER skill training/assessment

Review all craftsmen NCCER training and assessment records.

All Wolfenson craftsmen are 100% NCCER performance verified. All craftsmen will be encouraged to complete the NCCER written assessment to become Certified Plus.

We recognize that a skilled workforce is a safe workforce. All employees will be encouraged to participate in the NCCER training and evaluation program.

All craftsmen will be tracked according to their NCCER skill assessments including performance evaluations and written assessments. Long term goal - 100% of craftsmen will be Certified plus.

Increase safety observations/interventions

BBP observations

Foremen will be required to complete a minimum of 20 BBP/month. Special emphasis will be placed on identifying unsafe behaviors and intervening on those behaviors.

Annual BBP training will be held to review the expectations of supervisor field observations.

It is important for managers to observe their work groups and intervene when there are unacceptable behaviors on the jobsite. We should always strive for safety improvement on all jobs.

All BBP participants will be tracked according to number of cards and unacceptable behaviors/interventions.
