THE ROLE OF THE HOLY SPIRIT

hat exactly was the role of the Holy Spirit in this story of peter? Whenever the Holy Spirit comes into your Wlife, he will begin to move you. The Holy Ghost carrier,

Jesus Christ, came into the boat of peter and brought him in contact with the Holy Ghost and immediately, the spirit began to move him. We want to look at the seven ways the Holy Spirit move peter. 1. The Holy Spirit moved peter forward. It was not long after the Holy Spirit came in contact with peter that he began to hear, “Launch out into the deep,” “move forward,” “press forward,” “move on.” It was not long after this that he left a life of monotonous routine. Before the Holy Spirit came to move him, he had the usual routine of waking up, eating, going to fish, coming back home, eating and sleeping. He was doing this again and again. Some of us had been doing the same thing monotonously for several years. Suddenly, the Holy Spirit came and everything changed. Life became constant excitement. Peter did not know what was to come the next day but it was always more beautiful that the day before.

2. The Holy Spirit moved peter upwards. It was not long after the Holy Spirit came in contact with peter that the fisherman became a fisher of men. From that time onwards, he kept on going from one step to another. He began to go from glory to glory. It was not long before the man who had a boat full of fishes was able to preach a single sermon and won three thousand souls. From catching fishes that had no souls, he moved to winning three thousand eternal souls. The bible tells us that one soul is worth more than all the wealth in this world. It says what does it profit a man if he gains the whole world and he loses his own soul? If you go to heaven with three thousand souls following you, every angel will stand at attention to welcome you home.

3. The Holy Spirit moved peter forward and upwards, progressively. The moment the Holy Spirit picked him up, took him to one level, and a week later, he took him to another level. When the Holy Spirit picks you up and begins to move you, he will take you from glory to glory, again and again. In Acts 2:41, peter preached a sermon and won three thousand souls. The following week, in Acts 4:4, he preached another sermon and won five thousand souls. The following week, he preached another sermon and the bible says he won multitudes. They were too many to be counted.

4. The holy spirit moved peter fast. The incident in this story actually took place in a couple of hours. Within this couple of hours, the life of peter was drastically changed. In Acts 2:1-4, the bible says:“And when the day of Pentecost was fully come, they were all with one accord in one place. And suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled the entire house where they were sitting. And there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as fire, and it sat upon each of them. And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the spirit gave them utterance.”

The moment the Holy Spirit wants to come into your life, he will come suddenly. The change that will transform you from a beggar to a millionaire will come suddenly. The change that will transform you from somebody to be buried to someone moving from glory to glory will come suddenly. The change that will transform you from somebody that people have been praying for to somebody who will waive his hands and the lame will walk will come suddenly. The change that will move your church from the congregation of one hundred and twenty to that of three thousand, one hundred and twenty will come suddenly.

When the Holy Spirit decides to move, he has to move fast or else it will be too late. When Samson was brought before the philistines, with hands and legs bound, in judges 15:15-15, the enemies were already rejoicing. However, before they could think of what to do to him, the Holy Spirit came suddenly and every yoke was broken. The captive became the terror. The one supposed to be killed that day was the one who killed a thousand people. When the lion came roaring at Samson, if the Holy Spirit had been slow, there would have been no Samson left. As the lion was about to jump, the Holy Spirit came suddenly.

5. The Holy Spirit moved peter certainly. When the Holy Spirit comes into your life and begins to move you, there will be a clean break with the past. In 2Corinthians 5:17, the bible says

if any man be in Christ, he will become a new creature. The verse did not say if any man be in Jesus. Christ means the anointed one, the Holy Ghost carrier. If any man be in the Holy Ghost carrier, he is a new creature. When the Holy Spirit comes into your life, he is going to make your separation from the past, pure and total. In 1kings 19:19-21, when the mantle fell on Elisha, that was the last day he was a farmer.

6. The Holy Spirit moved peter permanently. We should however note that after this day, peter went fishing twice one was when he asked by Jesus Christ tom fish for a coin in the mouth of a fish to pay their tax and secondly after the lord had gone back to heaven. At the second time, peter fished all night and again caught nothing. Whenever God want to give somebody a new start, he begins by ending s o m e t h i n g . W h e n e ve r G o d e n d s something, that thing is ended. If he says he forgives you, it is settled. In Genesis 1:5,8 and 13, you will find out that the day of God begin with an evening. When God wants to give you life, he would start with death. Galatians 2 :20 says:“ I a m c r u c i f i e d w i t h C h r i s t :

nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.”

The gain of Jesus Christ starts with a loss. He said anyone who is going to gain his life must lose it. If you do not want to lose your life, there is no way you can gain it. This is why anytime God want to bless you, he will ask you to give him something. As you are giving him, he will give you something back. He told the woman at the well to give him water (john 4:7) obviously, he was not thirsty. He merely wanted to give her living water. Whenever God want to perform a miracle, he begins with impossibility. If your problem can be solve with paracetamol, you do not need a miracle. God will not begin to flex his muscles until the doctors have tried and failed. When you have impossibility in your life, a miracle is around the corner.

7. The Holy Spirit moved peter under a new management. Before this time, peter had two managers_ the devil and himself. Peter was no easy meat and the devil liked it like that. Later on, the devil still tried him but Jesus Christ said he had

prayed for him. The Holy Spirit moved peter until he came under a new management, that of Jesus Christ. Everybody who decides to follow jess C h r i s t i s c o m i n g u n d e r a n e w management. Jesus Christ said in Matthew 11:28-30:

“Come unto me, all ye that labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls.For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.”

The moment you agree to follow Jesus, you are going to put on a yoke. It is an easy yoke. You will carry a light burden. You cannot say you are following Jesus Christ without coming under his management. The of been under the management of Jesus Christ is that you will never lack anything. In Psalm 91:1-15, you will find that the moment you are under his shadows, secuirity comes. When you are under his management, he will cover you with his wings. When you come under the shadow of Jesus Christ, there are things that he will tell you that you cannot do again. He will however guarantee your security.

I was placed on bed rest but one day, I decided to come to the camp in December even though I was in serious pains. My husband discouraged me because between my room and the bathroom I would bleed seriously.

From my home in Ikorodu to Redemption Camp, I did not bleed at all despite the pain. I got to the auditorium and as soon as I got to the auditorium, the pain ceased.

in November 2014, we ran into armed robbers. IThey took everything from everybody inside the

bus, but mercy worked for me. They did not take

These armed robbers were Fulani herdsmen;

they were in possession of knives, bows and arrows,

guns, cutlass and so on.

After the robbery, we could not travel again but

one village around, hosted us that night.

ome weeks back, I had a serious head on collision with another vehicle. This happened when I S

w a s t r y i n g t o s w e r v e f r o m a wheelbarrow trader selling cassettes. I swerved from the wheel barrow guy and I was confronted with a Coca Cola trailer.

The two vehicles were damaged beyond repairs, but we did not sustain injuries. We were both hospitalized for three days, x-ray was conducted and no fracture was discovered. The other person in the other vehicle was the wife of a pastor. She was instigated to recover damages from me because I was the person who swerved to her lane.
